    Will try to do more regular ones if people are keen…

    As I listen to this, there are so many victories. Your mindset has shifted, you’re mastering new breathing techniques, you are in awareness of the negative way you talk to yourself, your gut has never felt better, you are doing rounds everyday, and you are believing that healing will happen for you. You definitely seem more elevated and hopeful. This is healing friend! Thank you for your vulnerability and for sharing your journey. I know this is encouraging to so many watching.

    I just listened to this today, great episode. I found you a few months ago and have been listening in random order. Actually really like these ones you do on your own and hope you keep mixing them in to supplement your content. I'm sincere when I also say you are pretty damn funny with some of the self-deprecating stuff and catching yourself being overly harsh lol (which I dont think you are). I read Breath in early 2021 and was fascinated by it. Dabbled with some of the breathwork formats but wish I had been more consistent over that time. Ironically within the last few days I started doing an hr a day in hopes to stay on it- mostly focusing on 5.5/5.5 and Wim Hof. Breathwork really is meditation, listening to anything guided with people talking has never resonated with me either.
    If you haven't already recorded your relaunch episode, I would really love to hear how your journey with Breathwork continued to go during this year. That facilitated breathing sounded really interesting, had never heard of that before.

    Thanks for giving an update, I know I find it hard to give updates when you still don't feel great.
    I so resonate with the 'shiny new object' when it comes to healing programs. I've come to the conclusion that any number of things could work for me if I just stick with it, even if it's not perfect.
    The breathing thing is definitely interesting- I'm a physio and there's a breathing professional development course that talks about breathing and the chemical changes that happen when your exhalation is longer than the inhalation. On the list of things to do!

    Sometimes we don’t feel like we are changing and then something will happen in our life, suddenly we will deal with it so differently. Suddenly you realise I’ve actually come a super long way. I didn’t notice any changes with Dans programme for over 6 months. I definitely haven’t been perfect with it either.
    All though I haven’t had a “crash” since I started Dans programme maybe 10 months ago.
    I’m also at the point where I’m like well this is my life now, I’ve got to keep trying to find answers, but I just have to enjoy my life as much as I can as it is.
    I would say was 70% before I started brain retraining and now I’m 85% most the time. Good on you Phil, keep going x

    Wow! I have just started the Wim Hof breathing method and cold showers and wish I had of come across it earlier. I downloaded his audio book and it's so amazing! I am feeling the shift in my nervous system already and it's under a week! At the end of the breathing method, guided by Wim online and with headphones on, when my body is extremely relaxed at the end, I listen to relaxing music. I find this helps to keeping relaxed. I hope you find your way to relaxing more. I agree, the breathing has more impact on the nervous system and I still enjoy meditation as needed. Thanks for sharing your stories it is guiding me for my own journey. Many thanks and keep up the good work 🙏

    Consider looking at Dan’s ANS Rewire program. It can be done easily alongside other courses/classes since he only releases one video a day. And it’s very affordable. He explains in great detail how (and perhaps even more importantly why) to correct a lot of things that presently sound imbalanced in your life. Those imbalances may be inhibiting recovery.

    When talking about the brain retraining at the start of the video you seemed a bit irritated, exhausted and hard on yourself about it but when talking about the breath work you lit up and came to life!
    Go with what feels right for you man.
    Pointless trying to adapt to something if it's not resonating or maybe there is a different way you can work on the brain retraining so it feels enjoyable, relaxing and makes you want to do it.
    That is the purpose after all right, to calm the system and not stress it out.
    Or maybe focus more on the breathwork and come back more to the brain retraining a bit later.
    Either way, let yourself relax about whatever you are doing and do it in a way that feels good to you.
    Wishing you the best!

      hey man... tbh, whilst i do get some brain fog, it's never been a big issue for me... pain, fatigue, nervous system stuff and just feeling shitty has been the main issue. So me and one of my best friend's started an online business that means I can manage my own hours and work whenever. I tend to try and do 6 hours (sometimes more sometimes less) but have breaks and also spend the morning working on myself. I used to work 12 hour days in an office though and so this killed me. My energy now is up and down.... really relates well to my sleep which is why i love the oura ring

    Have you checked out the Pain Free You channel yet? He does a lot of brain retraining videos that focus on ideas from John Sarnos. I've reduced the pain in my body a lot already and am using the same principles for recovering from CFS. The basic premise is that all the things we do to "heal" our body reinforces that we are broken or ill and there's really nothing wrong with us. I finally stopped all supplements and treatments and haven't gone backwards in my energy levels at all. Unfortunately, I think I got covid in January and am struggling with fully recovering from that at the moment- I have a never ending cough that is exacerbated by the vog in Hawaii that we typically have this time of year . Great to hear your update!

I've had Dan on the show but I still haven't checked it out properly, only because of the volume of information I've already been looking at but funnily enough i said to myself this month that i would start watching his videos each day... how exactly do you do his work? Like do you want a bit each day?

    • @gingerztube
      @gingerztube 2 года назад

      @@TheChronicComeback Ha,ha.. I just realized that I probably found him because of your channel! So I basically just started by catching myself thinking negative thoughts and saying something like; "I am healthy & strong" or "I am safe". There are a bunch of different things you can say to yourself, but the idea is to start rewiring new positive thoughts in your brain. In the beginning it didn't feel like I was getting anywhere, but then after a couple weeks I noticed my pain levels going down a bit. I'm still in the stage where I'm doing better for a while and then not so good for a while. It's like those negative thoughts keep rearing their ugly heads because they were so entrenched in my daily thinking for years. I feel like I have tried so many things in the past that flat out didn't work at all or only gave me temporary relief. So I'm going to stick with this brain retraining thing and see where it gets me. I don't sit down and have an official session of brain retraining, I just try to catch myself as often as I can throughout the day when negative thoughts occur. I feel like it can't hurt to tell myself more positive messages about my health. Negative thoughts sure didn't do anything for my recovery! 🙂

    • @gingerztube
      @gingerztube 2 года назад

      @@TheChronicComeback You're so welcome! I'm in this with you too. FYI, I'm also starting to tell myself that I am so happy that I have these symptoms whenever I have negative thoughts about them. The idea behind this is that somewhere along the line our brains got hypervigilant because of our negative thinking about our illness. So by telling ourselves that we are happy that we have CFS symptoms, it confuses the brain and it can go from hypervigilance to relaxed and the symptoms go down then they go away. It's literally dealing with the fact that "neurons that fire together, wire together" that we are changing. We have the power over what we say to ourselves, but it takes time to rewire those pathways in the brain. I thought this was all BS until I started seeing improvements, I think it's my way out of this crap 🙂
