    It’s my primary console. The short comings are essentially a weak first party and storage being proprietary. Which I understand it’s actually a huge deal to many people.

      I have a USB3 SSD hooked up to it for most of my Xbox 360 and OG Xbox games. They run well from it. But 1 TB isn’t much considering the size of the games now.

    Ive had an exact oposite experience with my Series X, I remember not being able to get one and being super hyped but as soon as the pan hit I was SOL... Eventually, I did wind up getting mine through the finance deal that Gamestop implemented where you had to finance a series X bundled with 3yrs of game pass ultimate in order to secure one and not have to pay scalper pricing.
    Ive had mine since Nov of 20' and have had zero issues sometimes leaving it on for god knows how long accidentally as I have way too many controllers and am always connecting them to the other series S or my 360 or my OG Xbox or PC lol I just take it out in the garage from time to time and blow it out with compressed air aside from regular use most of it to play point and click games with my wife or watch fear factor I also actually have stand by mode on with that instant resume feature and have it set to stay updated and that's about it, although I rarely use it and I don't think I have played a single current gen game on it yet it remains perfectly operational.
    One thing I do want to point out that I didn't catch mentioned is that in order to play your library from console streamed to another device remotely you have to have an ultimate subscription, that is the only reason I retain it and its really is hit or miss but convenient although I rarely use it.
    Actual thoughts though is Im really burnt out on the whole "modern gaming" landscape and not much at all appeals to me anymore Im really just here, I still haven't so much as even downloaded Halo Infinite and Ive been a Halo fan since day 1. I will be picking up stray today, I want to play the new robo cop and also Atomic Heart, other than that there isn't really much there, I am a big fan of the spin tires/mud runner series and will probably pick up the new expeditions game coming out.
    Final thoughts, its been ok this gen, just seems since the dawn of gen 8 we really lost gaming and now with physical media dying and heads of major studios being brave enough to say we should get comfortable not owning anything anymore, and game pass being more a trial and then gone type service Id say this may most likely be my last gen to participate in.

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, I also had that Gamestop financing deal. I was thrilled to get it and the Gamepass for two years.
      The streaming to another device from your console: I never did that before. I saw something about doing that, but I never felt the need to do it. I have a hard enough time playing on a smaller screen these days HAHA.
      I think after this next upcoming "generation" Microsoft will go to a streaming device only like Stadia. Stadia's problem is they were trying to establish everything at once and you had to buy your games. With Gamepass, you have a fluctuating library of demos and you have to buy a license (there is no purchasing digital media) if you don't finish a game (or want to continue playing it as long as they allow you to play it). They keep getting the revenue from the Gamepass masses on a device they barely have to put any thought or money into- or at all if they get Gamepass on Nintendo or Sony devices (or others).

    When you put it into perspective we really are getting effed for the Game Pass pricing. Bunch of old games most of us already own anyway. I am optimistic with some of the 2024 Day One Exclusives coming like the new Indiana Jones game which looks amazing. However like you said it's more of a DEMO/TRIAL PERIOD to try these games out and then they disappear. :( I feel they need to change their direction on the Game Pass if they want any real longevity out of it before people get fed up with MS's BS. I've also heard the argument that game developers are losing money over the pass but I don't think that's the case given the short window most games are available here. Great video BTW!

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад +1

      I feel the developers are looking money on Gamepass when people don’t buy the game in stores. 30% of the same of digital sales goes to Microsoft. So, the only hope a developer has is that most people don’t finish the game on Gamepass (if it’s a campaign) or a multiplayer game that someone wants to continue playing- so they have to buy the game.
      I put the whole scheme together about how they screwed everyone over a few weeks ago. Can’t believe nobody else caught it.

  • @Johnnygrafx
    @Johnnygrafx 7 месяцев назад

    All valid points. I've never really understood the appeal of the modern Xbox ecosystem. I respect that it works for others, but I'm just gonna keep ignoring everything post-OG Xbox myself. Especially now that all their games are coming to PC anyways. Grabbed By The Ghoulies and Halo 2 are the end of my Xbox journey I think lol.
    PS: we need to play some Aliens FTE sometime 😎

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад +1

      Agreed on the Aliens FTE!!! I think this may be my last gen Xbox. I’ll probably get my OG future proofed here soon and my Xbone, and that will be it. I understand your logic for sure. I may have to go the way of gaming PC just to attempt to sidestep Microsoft as much as possible next generation.

    • @deadrizen
      @deadrizen 7 месяцев назад

      I decided to pick up a XSX cuz it will probably be the last xbox that ever has a disc drive. But if Microsoft increases the price of gamepass again in the near future, I will seriously consider selling it. ATM you can still convert 12 month XBL gold cards to gamepass ultimate but I imagine that will eventually go away and paying month-to-month is absurdly expensive.

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад

      @deadrizen yep, I knew about the XBG cards, but since they’re not making them anymore, I didn’t mention it.
      Also, Microsoft announcing that discless XBX is what made me buy another one 3 to 4 months ago. My wife challenged me to see how long I could go without opening it. Until I decided to make this video. The itch to open it wasn’t too great as I only have 3 XBX games, all others will run on the XBONE. I want to finish RE4 Remake. Hahaha!!! Thank you for your comment! 😎😀

    Gamepass isn't a demo it is the full game most of thee games I have played on there I have beaten they give you a long time before they remove thee game and xbox first party games are always there

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад

      You misunderstood. Of course, the full faves are there… but they remove them ALL eventually. Even Skyrim is GONE now. That’s owned by Microsoft now. Hence the analogy of it being a demo.
      Check out the First Party games you think are on there and when we last looked, tons are gone. Just gone. Poof!
      I’m not 13 living with mom & dad so I can sit down and play a game on Gamepass all the way through the second it drops. I have responsibilities: work, family, and a life. Gamepass might work well for those who never go up for air, but when the game you’re playing goes POOOOF! and then you are promoted to but it from Microsoft so they can get their 30% from the 3rd party developer or 100% from their own IPs (full price no matter how old the game is) that’s a demo.

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад +1

      @doppa561 is a mystery for sure. There’s only two main problems with Series X: power supply or the phenomenon called “burnout” which is caused by the console’s ability to instantly resume games. I’m am now making sure that NONE of my games are left in the instant resume mode.
      My old one, with all the “update while off” stuff turned OFF. I had mine in a hard off mode. If I ever forgot to unplug it, there would be enough heat coming from the top of it while off, that you’d not want to hold your hand there too long. Seriously. And that’s when it hasn’t been played with for hours or even a couple days. It was hot. Microsoft operators were like “Oh something is wrong.” Geeze, ya think? 🤔 😂😂😂
      The new one is running cool. And I’m keeping it on a power switch to turn off. However. I did let the power get to it in OFF mode for a couple days to see if it got warm for no reason. It’s cold like it should be. Too many people had that same problem. Oh well… moving right along. I’m still using my Xbox One for some stuff too. I love the hardware, not a fan of the company.

    Well PS4 and 5 you dont need to worry about batteries at all. So how would you compare that and then insinuiate that Xbox beiing able to choose your battery type is somehow better feature.
    My PS4 controller is nearly a decade old and still charges and plays for a good 20+ hours before absoluetely needing a recharge, which then takes 2 hours at most to be full.

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад

      It all about preference, my friend. All about preference.
      When I worked at a factory years ago, I had rechargeable AA batteries for my CD player. I had 8 sets and they were all paired and labeled. I used two sets a day and rotated them. When they would eventually stop keeping charge, they souls be tossed.
      I understand your point of the SONY recharging controller, and I do like that, but the Wii U Pro controller has an 80 hour battery life. Yes, 80 hours! And my Nintendo 3DS can take a charge then sit in a drawer forever, then I turn it on and it still works and the battery is still full. Sony batteries aren’t the same as that. Never have been. It’s just my preference to be able to swap out fast and get back to playing instead of “darn it… my controller is dying… time to hook up to a cable.” I have so many controllers for so many consoles that I can’t keep them on a charger all the time. It would look like an arsenal for Halo in that room! 😂😂😂
      What works great for you may not be the best solution for your next door neighbor. If I could pop out that rechargeable battery fast for another one that charged- UTOPIA!

    • @Dr.HaroldShipman
      @Dr.HaroldShipman 7 месяцев назад

      I'm doubting that very much! Considering the battery of a ps4 controller brand new was awful, a decade year old battery will be even worse!

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад

      Of course a decade old battery is worse. It's a decade old. However, when my Wii U Pro controller battery died for good it died hard. So, I replaced it. I saw a video this past week that was talking about the Wii U Pro controller 8- hour battery life and yes, it's insane. On Metal Jesus Rocks' channel a few yers ago he had Kelsey Lewen, co-owner Pink Gorilla Games, talking about the Wii U Buyers' guide and they both talked about that being an incredible battery. He hadn't charged the battery in months- although he did charge it and put it away. She turned it on and BAM- working. I just don't like the sticks placement. Otherwise a great controller.

    Wow I actually never knew about the power supply issue. That's really bad and makes me quite concerned and wary about picking up one. I just turned on the replacement Series X yesterday. Considering it’s not a launch unit… and as far as I can tell it seems different in a good way. It’s staying quite cool. I was installing games for about 3 hours yesterday and the heat that it was putting out was far, far less than my original console- so I have hope! 😀 I may post an update on this one in a year. 😂

    • @CMONCMON007
      @CMONCMON007 7 месяцев назад

      @GAMECLOSET I also thought that was odd...they said something about licensing issues. Which is odd cause most of the older Forza games are not backwards compatible. Which is ridiculous that's their flagship exclusive series

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад +1

      @CMONCMON007 Exactly. That’s why I said it was odd that they didn’t make their own IPs available, or on GP they’d remove their own IPs. Writing you want a robust library for your customers to return to and continue paying for GP? Very odd and counterintuitive.

      @GAMECLOSET very good point...makes game pass more a demo reel. Let's hope that doesn't happen to those classic games on Nintendo Switch Online. Sering that Virtual Console is sadly not around anymore

    • @GAMECLOSET
      @GAMECLOSET  7 месяцев назад

      @@CMONCMON007 Yes, let us hope they keep things alive. However, a service is one thing. Just like a dry cleaner- it could go out of business and the digital "purchase" service is gone. It's why I only "purchase" digital licenses (not buy a game) when they are on DEEEEEP discount. Paying for a service I understand it's around for as long as it's around. BUYING something is different though. It's why I like to use the website doesitplay.org when I can to determine if a disc actually has a game on it or is it just a ket for a download. Like Gears 5 only is a 2.63 MB key for a 97GB download, hence if you buy the disc it's still just a digital purchase with the illusion of physicality.
