You know a funny detail? Back when Nicol was still around, on that submarine when they were chasing Archangel, after Rau put Athrun in charge of them, Yzak and Dearka joked about launching a coup d'eta against Athrun. And here they are stopping a real coup. How interesting the things turned out.
Its crazy how essentially Yzak's whole character is just does a complete 180, in quite literally every situation from SEED to Freedom. He's prob one of the best character developments I've seen.
I feel somewhere inside yzak never forgave himself for killing innocent civilians back in seed but now tries he’s best to cause less casualties even giving others second chances at redemption
Why not, Yzak doesn't need to be an intelligent or a big thinker on the agency. His Leadership is top notched and comparable to Athrun Zala. Yzak got strong social background in the Plant and protected by elite subordinates like Dearka and Shiho.
So the Duel and the Buster were able to be upgraded to be Nuclear and have a Zaku Cockpit retrofitted into them, not to mention that their super structure could hold up to the stress imposed by the high output Meteor units created for the Freedom and Justice… with only minimal changes to their structures… man those G-Weapons were pretty good units. The Earth was supposed to win the war in half the time they did if they had managed to gotten their hands on the original models in SEED.
Not really since the OS for developed for Naturals are so messy ..hence Kira had to rewrite the coding on the fly and constantly updating the os throughout half of the series so tht Strike can be operational in any situation effectively..but yeah the OG 5 were leap and bound of technology at tht time even coordinator had to stole those
Plus, the Duel Blitz and Lightning Buster are proof that you don't need the super fancy gear and weapons of the Freedom and Justice series Gundams to kick a lot of ass. Pretty much any Gundam or strong enough mobile suit can make it work as long as they have the right equipment and a nuclear reactor. I wish the new Impulse Spec II also had a nuclear reactor too, but Lunamaria made it work well regardless.
Did you see the meteors too?. Just like Kira and Athrun had with the Freedom and Justice in the Bloody Valentine War. Dearka and Yzak are just like Kira and Athrun in many ways. The similarities are extremely evident.
Really despised Dearka and Yzak when it came to Gundam seed. Why they were fighting, then came the death of Nicol. But even so , Dearka had a shift in character development and joined the archangel. Yzak almost fought Dearka, and was deceived by Rau Le Creuset. Additionally, Yzak would fight for peace and even wanted Athrun to join them. Yzak and Dearka are also characters with incredible development. The reason why they fight is so similar to Kira, Shinn, Athrun, Cagali, Lacus, and Such. So neat to see .
Man Yzak has grown up so much from his earlier days of being a selfish child comparing himself to others like Athrun and Kira feeling inferior, to someone who truly cares for not only his people but his enemies too. The look he gave his mother on Eternal didn't feel like the look of approval from others he so desperate desired in the past, but was the look of confidence and resolve to do what's right. Honestly think Yzak's story is one of the best side character development in the Gundam franchise. PS: That "we haven't forgotten" @3:05 from Dearka and the look on his face just cuts so deep man.. You can really tell that he sympathize with the coup side's feelings but he grew over it and understands that it's just not the right way to express those feelings.. It's like his questioning the coup commander was there really no other way, knowing the coup commander won't have time to answer..
No surprise, because in context CE70-CE71: First Bloody Valentine War (Gundam SEED) CE73-CE74: Second Bloody Valentine War (Gundam SEED Destiny) CE75: COMPS vs. Kingdom of Foundation (Gundam SEED Freedom)
One of the best things this movie did was give Yzak and Dearka the Duel and Buster Gundams back. The fact that they were flying around GSD with Zakus and Goufs instead of Suped Up Gundams was a crime greater than the Second half of the show itself.
I think in Destiny they established that the grunt Zaku and Gouf machines overpowered the old GAT models in terms of specs and capabilities. They just giving any model Neutron Jammer Cancellers nowadays though
That scene with Yzak Joule and his mother Ezalia seems weird if you just go by what's being said onscreen since they are in a serious briefing, and the characters seem to not react as you'd think to what's being said in the briefing. Supposedly though, Fukuda alluded to the scene being somewhat of a shipping ploy: Ezalia was inspecting Shiho as a potential bride for Yzak, Shiho picked up on this via intuition (hence the change in her expression), Yzak looked at both Ezalia and Shiho and realized what was happening, thus leading to that gentle relaxed expression by Ezalia.
I think you are overthinking this, the members of the Joule team are concerned, angry and a bit depressed about another potential large scale conflict and direct attack on the Plants. Yzak then looks back at his mother and he sees her comforting smile because she believes her son is up to the task of protecting the Plants. That’s my analysis on the situation.

I like how Yzak and Dearka are still going with their OG Gundams despite being heavily outdated while everyone else has the latest flashy Gundams with space magic and nuclear weapons.

seeing the Duel and Buster again was great love the new looks even though they didn't change to much showing them again was perfect having Yzak and Deraka pilot their first Gundams even if they are out of date they still kicked some serious ass

Something that definitely did change was why he destroyed the bridge. In Seed, he just straight up killed them because they were the enemy. In Seed Freedom it’s more like, “I gave you a chance. You didn’t take it, and this needs to stop *now*.”
Duel & Buster and other GAT-X series like Strike Gundam were a prototype to begin with , it's make sense those mobile suits is outdated by C.E 75. Without upgrade , those mobile suits will stand no chance against newer models. About mobile suits technology in C.E , yeah I agree with you that their technology evolving very fast. Just look at Kingdom Of Foundation mobile suits , their technologies surpassed all previous mobile suits made by ZAFT , ORB and Earth Alliance.

I think most of the Zaft models were around for several years and still considered at least standard.

On 30th rewatch im pissed that the intel division has the funding for the eternal meteors and the gundams but cant get gouf igniteds and opt for the several year old ginn
It makes sense when you think about it though. They were working in PLANTs territory, not the frontlines. The Joule Team probably has the Goufs and Zakus they had in Destiny, but the rest of the Intel Division doesn't really need more advanced machines when they aren't operating on the frontlines. If the situation calls for it, they can get access to more advanced machines, like they did with the Duel and the Buster, but day-to-day they don't need anything more advanced than a Ginn.

Recon suits don't plan on fights they enter take photos and get the heck out of the sector to friendly ports technically a Zaku backpack could reduce the unit but why pay the money when the Ginn can do the job
Ezalia turning face is one of the biggest surprises, and I'm glad we see what happened to her after Canaver had her arrested. Shows she was nowhere near of a monster as her boss had become. The irony is that, as one of the good guys now, she's wearing a purple uniform like Patrick. Really, while their roles in this movie are small, they tie into the movie being a fanservice-based celebration of what people, especially Japan, love about Gundam SEED, exemplified in bringing back our old friends, the Duel and Buster themselves. Also, the final irony is that Yzak's final line in the movie is him speaking so solemnly. And everyone knows EXACTLY what he's thinking of when he says that line. They don't need to show it, but us veteran fans know exactly what's in his mind at that moment.

She's been a cameo in gundam seed itself for a long time , she's kind of lucky how her planned VA turned down the role and so the production team don't need to pay that expensive fee. Otherwise she mightve ended up like Heine or Miguel who had to be killed off because the VA budget is too high.

He didn't keep it, Compass/ORB/ basically the neutral peace faction of Lacus and Kira kept the old G weapons Duel and Buster ORB used SF, IJ, Duel, Buster and refitted them with newer software and hardware tech, although armor can't really change too much Only real change for Duel and Buster is they swapped to nuclear reactor So they can literally full power everything And they are retrofitted to be able to equip METEOR equipment

seeing the Duel and Buster again was great love the new looks even though they didn't change to much showing them again was perfect having Yzak and Deraka pilot their first Gundams even if they are out of date they still kicked some serious ass

Seed Freedom - he destroy the ZAFT commander on bridge of ship
I believe that is the most effective and quickest way to disable/destroy a ship.
Something that definitely did change was why he destroyed the bridge. In Seed, he just straight up killed them because they were the enemy. In Seed Freedom it’s more like, “I gave you a chance. You didn’t take it, and this needs to stop *now*.”

Duel & Buster and other GAT-X series like Strike Gundam were a prototype to begin with , it's make sense those mobile suits is outdated by C.E 75. Without upgrade , those mobile suits will stand no chance against newer models.
About mobile suits technology in C.E , yeah I agree with you that their technology evolving very fast. Just look at Kingdom Of Foundation mobile suits , their technologies surpassed all previous mobile suits made by ZAFT , ORB and Earth Alliance.

I think most of the Zaft models were around for several years and still considered at least standard.

@@digitaladventurer2142 The GuaAIZ in SEED already outperformed the Astrays and Daggers it faced and the Astray was on par with machines like the Buster and Duel, but not the Strike. The GINN came out years before the first war, so it is no surprise that it and machines like the DINN are more outdated.

On 30th rewatch im pissed that the intel division has the funding for the eternal meteors and the gundams but cant get gouf igniteds and opt for the several year old ginn
It makes sense when you think about it though. They were working in PLANTs territory, not the frontlines. The Joule Team probably has the Goufs and Zakus they had in Destiny, but the rest of the Intel Division doesn't really need more advanced machines when they aren't operating on the frontlines. If the situation calls for it, they can get access to more advanced machines, like they did with the Duel and the Buster, but day-to-day they don't need anything more advanced than a Ginn.

@@corvus9359ZAFT in Destiny was still deploying the Ginn Recon type from last war and still trained on Ginn trainers. Recon suits don't plan on fights they enter take photos and get the heck out of the sector to friendly ports technically a Zaku backpack could reduce the unit but why pay the money when the Ginn can do the job

Ezalia turning face is one of the biggest surprises, and I'm glad we see what happened to her after Canaver had her arrested. Shows she was nowhere near of a monster as her boss had become.
The irony is that, as one of the good guys now, she's wearing a purple uniform like Patrick.
Really, while their roles in this movie are small, they tie into the movie being a fanservice-based celebration of what people, especially Japan, love about Gundam SEED, exemplified in bringing back our old friends, the Duel and Buster themselves.
Also, the final irony is that Yzak's final line in the movie is him speaking so solemnly.
And everyone knows EXACTLY what he's thinking of when he says that line. They don't need to show it, but us veteran fans know exactly what's in his mind at that moment.

イザーク(愛機デュエル)とディアッカ(愛機バスター)の再登場と言うだけでも胸が熱くなるのに…ミーティア装備で(ザフトの反乱部隊から)ミレニアムを守り抜く活躍ぶりが(歴戦のパイロットらしく)格好良かった！
この二人も〝種割れ〟出来るだけのポテンシャルが有るのでは？と本気で思ってしまった。

ナスカ級高速戦闘艦はローラシア級MS搭載艦の次に生産数が多い戦闘艦で、種死でもクライン派に属してた事もあったので、例え種死終了後であっても旧ザラ派残党のテロリストや宇宙海賊、半グレ、マフィアの手に渡ってもおかしくないですからね。
この人どれだけ偉くなっても相変わらず最前線行っちゃいますな…

She's been a cameo in gundam seed itself for a long time , she's kind of lucky how her planned VA turned down the role and so the production team don't need to pay that expensive fee.
Otherwise she mightve ended up like Heine or Miguel who had to be killed off because the VA budget is too high.

He didn't keep it, Compass/ORB/ basically the neutral peace faction of Lacus and Kira kept the old G weapons Duel and Buster
ORB used SF, IJ, Duel, Buster and refitted them with newer software and hardware tech, although armor can't really change too much
Only real change for Duel and Buster is they swapped to nuclear reactor
So they can literally full power everything
And they are retrofitted to be able to equip METEOR equipment

Feels refreshing to see that Terminal is now less of a shady organization leeching ZAFT, which is what it felt like in Destiny
