I'm so happy that they gave yzak The duel again and upgraded it with a new generator as well as new external armor but they should have done that during destiny not just giving him the upgraded zaku because I mean this man had the most Gundam kills outside of the manga when it came to the anime and still in the same unit he stole during the first episode does he beat the forbidden and the raider the freedom only beat the Providence the pilot it beat the Savior but it didn't kill the pilot kira in the strike only killed the pilot of the blitz and the blitz itself Athrun didn't beat anyone other than the strike when he blew it up and in the regular Justice he didn't beat any other gundams other than maybe the calamity I'm not sure I'm remembering that correctly and the buster only its weapon beat the raider being controlled by the duel and then the abyss didn't beat anything the gaia didn't beat anything the chaos didn't beat anything the impulse only beat the regular freedom but didn't kill the pilot well shin was piloting the impulse, the Providence pilot didn't beat anyone neither did the legend the perfect strike didn't beat anyone and that was a rebuilt strike the strike rogue didn't beat anyone other than grunts whether it was Kyra or his sister cagali the Akatsuki didn't beat anyone whether it was cagali or mu and because of that he should have had main character status for season 2 the pilot of the duel that is and even then the destiny didn't beat anyone so yeah literal data shows the dual is the best performance unit out of everything in comparison to with how the strike was with its versatility because the weapon changing and even then the duel is basically the Mark II and the Gundam Alex from the universal century color wise and the ability to attach the extra armor and the duel is also the first Gundam built by the Earth alliance because of its codename x 102
I didn't like the foundation with their Black Knight units as the enemy in this movie it should have actually been librarian works the company that was basically saying oh yeah because in the manga that's literally what they were doing they were starting little skirmishes and stuff and it would have made sense for them to actually be the real enemy and having their own original units as well as upgraded versions of the original gundams and all the ones made by the other groups and with their cloning capability to create copies of pilots so they couldn't make a small army of copies of kira the perfect coordinator and give them a bunch of strike and freedom units or strike freedom units? Or even modified 105 daggers that have performance higher than the m1 astray and the zaku units the m1 had the same performance as the strike gundam and the duel Gundam and performed just as well as the zaku units it just depended on the pilot so like they couldn't have made a mass production version of the Astray gundams as well
I like how Yzak and Dearka are still going with their OG Gundams despite being heavily outdated while everyone else has the latest flashy Gundams with space magic and nuclear weapons.
Man Yzak has grown up so much from his earlier days of being a selfish child comparing himself to others like Athrun and Kira feeling inferior, to someone who truly cares for not only his people but his enemies too. The look he gave his mother on Eternal didn't feel like the look of approval from others he so desperate desired in the past, but was the look of confidence and resolve to do what's right. Honestly think Yzak's story is one of the best side character development in the Gundam franchise. PS: That "we haven't forgotten" @3:05 from Dearka and the look on his face just cuts so deep man.. You can really tell that he sympathize with the coup side's feelings but he grew over it and understands that it's just not the right way to express those feelings.. It's like his questioning the coup commander was there really no other way, knowing the coup commander won't have time to answer..

Have Yzak and Kira had any kind of conversation or contact after SEED? I know they met off screen after the second battle of Yachin Due, but nothing after that. I guess with their history they wouldn’t exactly be best buddies. But at least Kira kind of got along with Dearka. Just curious.
Never in the movie or anime. It's all either off-screen or in the novels, I think. Conversation was never done, at least none that I know about, the first time they officially met on-screen was the reunion between Kira and Lacus shown during the credits of Destiny's extra ending, so they didn't exactly share greetings, they were just in the same room.
