Man this reminds me of when i first got my sp! After using it for so long i forgot how confusing it can be initially. Once you get used to it its super fast, probably my fav hardware sampler in terms of workflow.
One tip, go into utility and change reverse type from 404 to 303. They added it in an update a while ago and i feel like most sp users dont know about it even though 303 style reverse is super fun and really useful for cueing loops. You can also mash it a bunch to make a glitchy loop, lots of fun with skip back and effects

My goodness I just can't be creative if I have to think all the way through the process. I don't like machines like the SP-404 it makes my head hurt. If I can't just sit down and push record, select some effects, tweak a sample... without brain damage I just can't do it. It's so fun watching your videos of you cursing through making something. It reminds me to not let my GAS get into this realm.
