I think you forgot "having a patient and understanding girlfriend/wife" ahah With mine it isn't as easy as it seems with yours :) Great video anyway and very useful tips, I always struggle a bit with light and creating a peaceful atmosphere, this helps for sure The result is so great, you cant tell there are so many people around !
Maybe just ENJOY the place instead of filming everything and pretending it was empty .. no one seems to enjoy those places any more, only taking photos and videos .. gosh ..
Dude I'm an upcoming videographer and still can't fathom your creativity. Watch your videos daily even though I've seen them a thousand times! True inspiration. Thanks for your tips, wisdom and most of all, your time you put in your content.
Brandon Li I'm very impressed with your skills. since I discovered your work I have been motivated to do more. 1 Question Did you zoom in with the electronic zoom and fast forward it in post
Brandon! You are one of the reasons why I like you more than any travel film maker, you put all the effort on teaching every techniques in film making. Thank you so much, you are a gift for us film makers! :)
This was brilliant Brandon, very clear, clever and direct. Good job especially narrating and keeping it dynamic, also loved the final edit, so many RUclipsrs never do anything with the tutorials they do! Got me excited to receive my gimbal in a week, would be cool to see a video on how to take gimbal movements to next level, you really control the angles and tilts, cheers
Thanks for all your videos and not cramming your ego into it like so many others. I was a portrait photographer in the 60s with different medium format cameras. I did my editing with a enlarger. Now I have a 6500, Zhiyun and about 7 lenses. But I am 73 and a dial telephone is my limit. So I shoot jpeg and edit while composing like the old days. You inspire me.
could yoiu make a tutorial about sound effects like walking etc. when to apply also how to record people clearly outside etc. I know you don't want to say where you get you sound effects from but I will record mostly if not everything by myself anyway (I like to shoot mini documentaries) or a reply would also be much appreciated have a nice day fellow nomad/filmmaker
He has stated in other videos that he does his own sound design, foley work, which is all done in post. Yup, those birds, her crunchy footsteps are all purchased and added in post.
This is one of the most striking tutorials you have made, Brandon. These are real life problems we face everytime we want to shoot something and we mistakenly think that it's impossible. Thank you!
Sometimes it is impossible to get the video you originally intended to shoot. But you can always shift the focus a bit and make the best of your environment. The audience doesn't know what you intended to shoot, only what you show them in the final product.
1:30 May I please get the name of the song used through the video, I've searched the lyrics and tried Shazaming it but nothing popped up, this song is so unique and beautiful and I'd love to get the name of it.
Turned out great. I like the attention given to the finest detail, like her hand gliding on top the rail. You are also fortunate to have a girl that looks like a model. The lighting on her face brought out a radiance and put the nature shots into a human perspective. Excellent tips as always.
Wow! What a professional! I can't even believe the video was taken while there where so many tourists, it all looks so pristine in the final video. Excellent work! And the lighting is stunning! It's like it is telling a story without needing any words. Thank you for sharing this!
Arguably you're the best I've ever seen. The quality and angles of your footage is amazing. Nevertheless, the way you teach with your skill set leaves my heart pounding for more. I've never commented you RUclips until now, because my hand was forced my your passion. Well done!
I'm looking for this kind of tutorial video for a long time and finally got to watch yours!! It's exactly what I need, the thinking behind the lens. Thank you so much!
wooow! This is crazy! you're absolutely great! probably the best cinematographer on you tube! plus you've been giving awesome tips which is very inspiring..to be good at cinematography is actually my dream! hope to learn more from you! 😊
Love your work Brandon! Next time go to Lynn Valley suspension bridge. Just as beautiful, fewer people, and a beautiful walk down towards the water with kids doing cliff diving
Henry Zhang Totally different styles It's a matter of creative personality. Not cool to compare like that. Simply appreciate they bring different things to the table.
I was there while you were filming this. The family you took a photo of at 3:36 I sat while they ate ice cream and their daughter dropped ice cream and squirrels ran over, I chatted with the Dad for a few a very nice group of people. I just thought it was funny that I came across this video filmed the same day I was there! Thank you, it gave me a chatting point with my family!
Man, you made that look so easy. I just got my a6500 two weeks ago and look forward to getting results like you were able to come away with. I love the tips about how to get around the crowd, great advice. Just found your channel but I look forward to watching more of your videos.
I thought this was going to be a 'how to' using video editing software but - even though it wasn't - I thoroughly enjoyed it! Your camera skills and smooth techniques both in front of and behind the camera are fantastic! xoxo
Wow, I now realise how many sacrifices have to be made in choosing scenes and patience required, but great sequences can still be sewn together, and attention to lighting direction.
Brandon, I applaud you on staying cool like a cucumber as the hoards of tourists come in and out of your shots. I know it can get pretty frustrating! Love the patience and working with what you can control and can't
It really does get frustrating sometimes but then I remind myself that I have no more right to the park than the other tourists. We've all just gotta coexist there. Kobe is really the patient one.
*This pain is certainly real* of arriving at a place thinking it's going to be this beautiful peaceful and relaxing place but instead you're fighting through crowds of tourists. Thanks for the tips Brandon! Love the vertical shot of the tree.
See the final edited footage @3:54
Rally beautiful work! Any chance you could share the name of song you used in the final edited version?
Hey whats the song u r using in this video??
Brandon Li please what's the song playing from 1:29 to I think 3:48? Really loved it. Tried searching for it with Shazam, no luck. Thanks
Whats the soundtrack plss respond everyone ia asking
the music at 1:29 pleeeaaaaaseeeeeeeee
I discovered all of these film techniques you mentioned when I began removing my mother in law from all recent birthdays and holidays
MyMajesty CorgiKun best comment? :)
MyMajesty CorgiKun GOLD HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

The Only Dude On RUclips Who's Giving Clear Instructions Concerning Cameras On How To Make Perfect Shots!
The final video is so good 👌
+Ranjit Saini
absolutely stunning
Step one: Scream "EVERYBODY RUN, THERE'S A BOMB"
Just kidding, don't do this.
Please
You might get arrested
Was try this at airport then get deported
Or get beaten instead
I think you forgot "having a patient and understanding girlfriend/wife" ahah
With mine it isn't as easy as it seems with yours :)
Great video anyway and very useful tips, I always struggle a bit with light and creating a peaceful atmosphere, this helps for sure
The result is so great, you cant tell there are so many people around !
Kobe is amazing
Brandon Li I agree he's one of the best Basketball players of all time
RatedRizk He meant his girlfriend Kobe, not the basketball player! Lol 😂
Lol funniest reply of all time
Maybe just ENJOY the place instead of filming everything and pretending it was empty .. no one seems to enjoy those places any more, only taking photos and videos .. gosh ..
You Inspire me to explore the world more and become better in travel videos to create for my channel
Thanks 🙏
REDACUT FILMS same here :)
For Sure!
REDACUT FILMS me too
Thanks Brandon! Great tips! Headed to Europe next month and will apply some of these principles!
Have a great time!
You truly are a master. Thank you for this
Dude I'm an upcoming videographer and still can't fathom your creativity. Watch your videos daily even though I've seen them a thousand times! True inspiration. Thanks for your tips, wisdom and most of all, your time you put in your content.
Dude, that was very slick when you zoomed out of the scene right before the tourists walked towards where kobe was just standing at the bridge O:
that was the situation in basically every shot..tourists just out of frame
Brandon Li I'm very impressed with your skills. since I discovered your work I have been motivated to do more.
1 Question Did you zoom in with the electronic zoom and fast forward it in post
You can add the effect later on when post. It's called something like Zoom out transition.
Brandon! You are one of the reasons why I like you more than any travel film maker, you put all the effort on teaching every techniques in film making. Thank you so much, you are a gift for us film makers! :)
You also isolate the sound of the nature no? Or you will add another sound in post production ? Thanks for your work :)
Sounds like sound added later on!
Sam Jeong Yeah ok that's what i thought
Yeah sound definitely added in post
Sam Jeong Totally agree, especially the footsteps on wood that sounded like gravel.
Those were sound fx in post
CRAZY how he makes great video with easy stuff in the end. He has a great eye and great taste.
Great tips! But more than that, just a great flowing tutorial.
technical, creative, knowledgeable, skillful, i almost cried towards the end because of how great it looked and how beast you are

Thanks, I try to show that I can actually do the things I talk about. And I challenge the other film tutorial guys to do the same :-)
Ohh you are so right!!! Hey that 18-105 looks amazing, best zoom for the a6500 - for travel? thanks
Thanks for all your videos and not cramming your ego into it like so many others. I was a portrait photographer in the 60s with different medium format cameras. I did my editing with a enlarger. I like how you make your tutorials Brandon no BS you go straight to business. Thanks!
Appreciate the fact that you wear a wireless lav mic to get better sound. Most would just rely on a mic on the camera.
Man... you are my favourite travel film maker! Loving this tutorial!
As a fellow youtube I think these tips are so useful... and I love your shots bro! Great work.
The final product is wonderful. Simple changes in shots and the use of angles make such a professional difference :)
*WOW! That was some AMAZING tips! I love your final editing. So much feeling like I was there deep in the forest. Well done brother.*

You are amazing Brandon ! Thanks again for you great tips. Please let me know if you travel to Jakarta !
I live in Vancouver and that place is always packed with tourists in the summertime, so that edited footage blew my mind! 🤯 so so good!
Wow, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Wow! What a professional! I can't even believe the video was taken while there where so many tourists, it all looks so pristine in the final video. Excellent work! And the lighting is stunning! It's like it is telling a story without needing any words. Thank you for sharing this!
What is the song called in your final edit?:) Great video, love from sweden
I learned so much from this video! I hadn't realized how awesome gimballs are!
whats the song title? i love it
Your work is so masterful.
Could you do a tutorial/tips for filming using budget mobile phones (for those who can't afford expensive cameras and equipments like me xd )
Rohan Strider budget mobile phones can't do videography. Even my 700d isnt what i expected it to be, autofocus sucks.
1: microphone
2: lights
3: stabilisation
(the third is less important)
you may need Galaxy S8/Google Pixel XL/iPhone 7+
no
LG g6?
Brandon you are amazing and we all appreciate your sharing your knowledge with us like this. Also, huge props to Coby who indulges all these shots!
What's the name of the music at 3:14
Take the road - Blending Colors
Nailed it on the final cut.. Great illustration of how a little creativity and some patience can make the most of a busy tourist trap.
Great video! I live in the Vancouver area so I'll try this the next time I take guests there. Could I please get the name of the song at 1:57?
Take the road - Blending Colors

Looks like a commercial
Joordan The hair is even here 😂😂😂
Damn you. You made me blow at my screen
The video at the end was amazing. Seemed so peaceful, and as if you had the whole place to yourselves.
How did he zoom out like that at 1:41
Improvement I'm curious too. I have no idea
Either its cropped 4k, or zoom out in app
I'm looking for this kind of tutorial video for a long time and finally got to watch yours!! It's exactly what I need, the thinking behind the lens. Thank you so much!
Nice video, but what you basically said: "How to remove crowds from your shot?" - "Don't shoot the crowd" 😂😂
Wow, the edited video at the end is so beautifully done and relaxing!
So you include an edited empty bridge in your preview saying how to remove people.
But end up not doing it? k then
disiyc i think those are diffrent pictures they are not edited and it also says in the title without FX
wooow! This is crazy! you're absolutely great! probably the best cinematographer on you tube! plus you've been giving awesome tips which is very inspiring..to be good at cinematography is actually my dream! hope to learn more from you! 😊
The floor is tourists
Love your work Brandon! Next time go to Lynn Valley suspension bridge. Just as beautiful, fewer people, and a beautiful walk down towards the water with kids doing cliff diving
You are way better than Casey neistat XD
Henry Zhang Totally different styles
It's a matter of creative personality. Not cool to compare like that. Simply appreciate they bring different things to the table.
Open your eyes, lookup to the sky and see..
That was beautiful. To live and love is just one small letter difference. You do both toogether. Thanks for the inspiration.
So if you want to delete the crowds, just dont film them?? What xD
lol, yeah
what did u expect, magic?
you have to be one of the best cinematographers i watch. The fact that your tips are always spot on and so helpful! Amazing work man! keep it up.
'Delete the Clickbaits from your RUclips Video (without Arrows)'
Thank you for sharing. These tips are amazing your final video truly looks like a peaceful paradise without any people!
Anyone notice .... Horrible clickbait ??
Not at all.. Remove crowds without vfx. Thats what he showed? Whats your problem?
Zacco Brooks
I agree that it's clickbait, because I came for the thumbnail.
Nothing like that was shown.
Beside that, it was a nice informative video.
Zacco Brooks It's not. Watch the video and you see it is clickbait.
heaventje I came hete for the same reason, but I found something even better! Loved this video
You're teaching and explaining in such a good and traceable way. In the name of all the beginners: Thank you Brandon!
Dang your clickbait title.
I live for your bts videos. So well done! Entertaining, well edited, and not just some GoPro feed. Thanks Brandon!
Thank you, it gave me a chatting point with my family!
it's awesome how such a dense setup can allow for such cinematic imagery. subscribed
Brilliant, Brandon! I am speechless.... and taking notes ;)
Man, you made that look so easy. I just got my a6500 two weeks ago and look forward to getting results like you were able to come away with. I love the tips about how to get around the crowd, great advice. Just found your channel but I look forward to watching more of your videos.
ALWAYS AMAZING BRANDON!!! simple trick but works really well!
Man, you are a legend. These are great tips and you explain them so well. Thank you for all these tips and tutorials you put up, really appreciate it.
You tell an incredible story in your finished piece. I aspire to have that creativity, and the eye to get great angles like that. Great video!
What song is this 1:58?
Beautiful footage. Great patience, skill and a wonderful attitude. Love it.
I thought this was going to be a 'how to' using video editing software but - even though it wasn't - I thoroughly enjoyed it! Your camera skills and smooth techniques both in front of and behind the camera are fantastic! xoxo

Oh my god the result blew my mind. Love this and the music!
Final video was so cool! You're really talented Brandon.
That's beautiful, I love the dizzying tree thing you did
Why so many people dislike this video, I don't understand.
Great tips and video as always.
Thanks Brandon
The introductory 4 second were awesome. As was the rest of the content too. Great video!
Holy crap man, that cinematic scene at the end was PHENOMENAL.
Unbelievable how you made that into such a cinematic clip.
blown away every time Brandon
As always, the best tutorial in RUclips!
Wow! The end result is magical!
Pure talent in your videos Brandon ! Hollywood should give you a shot !
ESSENTIAL! And those shots at the end were so strong!
*This pain is certainly real* of arriving at a place thinking it's going to be this beautiful peaceful and relaxing place but instead you're fighting through crowds of tourists. Thanks for the tips Brandon! Love the vertical shot of the tree.
At least your video memories can be perfect even if the trip wasn't
It's all about the presentation!
goosebumps everytime, Brandon! ugh
Ahh your videos are so refreshing. Incredible work as always Brandon!
OUTSTANDING. Some great angles...Watching your videos with interest. 👍
One word: HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!?! The final was so good!
Great tips for creating more isolation for these shots. This is great advice for photographers too!
You're in Vancouver that's sick! If you're still here I know lots of tourist free areas dude! Love your work man!
Great tip , and final video is superb ... love the ambiance sound.
U changed my view of thinking....!! I LOVED IT.
Awesome technique. Will definitely use this for my next promo with a client!
