Clip from the rewatch of Episode 28: Lineage
Our rewatch rebounds this week as Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum review Season 2 Episode 7: LINEAGE. Not only do we get to review a beautifully written and directed episode of Smallville, but we’re also joined by two very important people to the show. First - it’s been a long time coming, but Annette O’Toole finally joins us! She shares everything about her experience as Martha Kent, questions she had about Clark as a mother of small children at the time, and how she prevented the Kent farm from going up in a blaze. We also bug creator Al Gough about the difference in age between Clark and Lex, how the next couple episodes really picked up after the Redux dud, and why Lineage stood out amongst others. Not only that, but Tom remembers his enjoyment for the adoption storyline scenes and Michael talks about how we really see the conniving and treacherous side of Lionel Luthor start to emerge in this episode.

"It helps people". Play the Jay Leno clip where Tom talks about Smallville being a show about good family values. It seemed like it was the only show on at the time that did.

Tom says absolutely right, Smallville is very popular with families who tend to watch it together, like me watched it with my beloved passed Mom, who introduced me to Smallville. One day she told me that she was watching and loving a new TV series in which there was a beautiful boy who played Clark Kent the young Superman and I have been completely hooked ever since.❤
And she loved the mother son relationship between Clark and Martha and all the love in the Kent family and how they loved and protected Clark.❤
Every time I watch Smallville I have fond memories of my Mom watching and commenting on it together and I miss her so much.❤Smallville is unique and no other will ever compete!❤

I’ve always thought that Smallville, beyond science fiction is first and foremost, a fabulous human adventure that shows us that education and love for our children is essential ! Awesome series and actors 👍👍 I love the delightful and talented Annette 💝

I just love John Schneider, he was the best dad on TV and he seems like a great guy in real life.

I never quite thought about that but you're right, it has a ton of the same characteristics as Little House. Great analogy.

You get the feeling sometimes that in Tom's mind the lines between the actors and their characters get blurry.

That's a great episode. I loved the kindness Clark showed to her when she realized he couldn't have been her son and she just broke down.
But the real question...what if Lionel would have had an affair with Pete's mom and his DNA came up a positive match?
