- Ethereum is about to dominate all its competitors once and for all. Why? Well because this new technology called zkEVMs is going to change everything for Ethereum in terms of scalability. This stuff is cutting edge and a bunch of these projects are about to launch in 2023. So my thesis is that no one will ever want to use Ethereum competitors after these go live. Give my video a watch to better understand why I’m so bullish on ETH, these zkEVM projects, and also I’ll give you some alpha in terms of ways to get exposure to this technology besides simply buying more ETH.

No matter what people say…. Just buy the ETH base layer. If you’ve been in the industry for years you’ll see why over time. I’ve been here since 2017 and have lost hundreds of thousands by NOT buying ETH. Sooo I essentially left everything else and invested in ETH.

Still, that doesn't change the fact that:
-> EVM + Solidity is trash compared to WASM + Rust
-> Ethereum's many pivots created a huge load of complex code, an increasing complexity difficult to maintain
-> Better optimized scalability solutions like Cosmos or Polkadot can and are using ZK too
-> Ethereum lack of interoperability is damaging the ethos of cooperativism, L2s are cannibals and fighting with each other for users and dev adoption on their L3s
-> There's no clear governance structure, it's mainly runned by Ethereum Foundation and governance decisions are a pain in the ass to implement
... I could go on.

Ha ha "Game over", for ethereum that is. Because of data availability and consensus, still roughly 10% of the data and computation has to be available/take place on the base layer (L1). As a result, it still can scale roughly 10x. According to Vitalik the other 10x should have come from sharding. Since the introduction of Dank sharding (which isn't really sharding), I'm sure that ethereum has left the possibility of real sharding and ethereum can be considered a dead man walking.
The L2 path that ethereum has chosen also means al lot of frontrunning and sandwitch attacks. Wow, that's a major upgrade from TradFi.

There are a lot of different project trying to help ETH scales zkrollup, leyer 2, zksync and so far ETH still the same as last year and the year before the slower and the most expensive to use. to say that ETH won the scalable war is crazy.

There are really strong native projects on other L1s that also plan to implement ZK scaling on top of their highly scalable base layers. Solana will have L2s, Fantom will use ZK to scale, and both of these L1s have strong ecosystems with their own products and opportunities. They may never be as big as Ethereum, but there will always be a place for them and people to arbitrage the opportunities.
We are back to square one , deciding which blockchain to kill Eth. I don't know why youtubers always push this subject.

So will the Ethereum Blockchain be fast and cheap or will we always have to bridge to a parallel Blockchain, which can be stark, or snark or polygon or optimism etc...? Will the gas be paid in eth or another token?

The reason ETH uses layer 2 solutions for TPS is because it has too, not by choice. It requires newer tech layer 2's to keep it somewhat competitive. Let's face it, the gas fees are choking the life out of ETH users. I am an ETH user and have made tens of thousands of dollars with ETH before you think I'm a hater. So many better projects emerging that out perform ETH right now. Invest in them all or you will fall behind.

Today it’s about zk rollups, tomorrow there would be another trend better than them. My question is: why not one could just focus on Ethereum for investment purpose and keep accumulating it. There would be no more energy and risk and the direction would be safe and right. What do you think about it?
you are right, I hold a bunch of ETH as well. ZK projects are higher beta plays
The most advanced developments in the Zk space is happening in the Astar space. I think Polkadot has the upper-hand hence.
Saying that they will use Zk proofs is one thing, but Astar has the fastest implementation which is about 10x faster than the previous best implementation.

This all sounds good in theory, lets see if it works
Ethereum will never win the scaling wars. The underlying consensus protocol is insufficient. Any VM advancements can be easily taken. The consensus protocol, on the other hand, takes years to upgrade. They've created a failed approach for scaling consensus. It now takes 12 minutes for consensus finality. You could reach probabilistic finality in 6 to 8 minutes before. They fucked up. And don't get me started on safety issues with committee selection...
Nobody is talking about details in this kind of videos, but time to finality is the devil here. Second issue is frontrunning, it's a plague for ETH and will kill it.

Eth is in trouble. Competition is far more advanced and big industry has not found crypto yet. It will not be chosen for mass adoption. Awful architecture.
In my opinion, raising highly-centralized L2s won’t win any kind of war for ethereum against mostly adopted L1s suchs as Avalanche. By definition, Avalanche is decentralized and has the fastest time-to-finality which matters the most.

Why a blockchain has to eliminate others? When we get global adoption Ethereum won't be able to handle all the pressure coming. The load will be distributed on all existing blockchains. There will always be competition. besides Ethereum still got the highest annoying gasfees ! I have stopped using Eth for 2 years and am doing great and making money..

I am not sure if it is a lack of technical understanding or bag bias, but I am confident this next bull cycle will force them to capitulate.
