Those are good reasons. I haven't given Atom a thought for a while now.
LYRA is on my radar although for long term because of their impending V2, which offers features like portfolio margin and multi-asset collateral.
Cosmos is a great project but Atom doesn't have much of a use case. The founders have said before that it could exist without Atom. I had some Atom and made some momey on it but unless they come up with some more uses I am not buying.

I thought they just redid there tokenomics that made it better no? And plus I have done it yet but I'm thinking about it. I have heard just buy a good amount of atom and stake it and just let the atom airdrops make u rich. Sounds pretty good stress free way to make gains thinking about test it out.
From what I know they put it up for a vote in Governance to restructure fees with $Atom and it failed to pass.

@Coinsider - can you explain how ATOM is accruing value? The reason I ask, even with the new announcement about roadmap, the three use case for ATOM listed is not enough, also there was a conference or something where they were discussing how to use the ATOM token to accrue more use of the TOKEN.

INJ is my favorite Defi space project, but I honestly really like most projects built on the cosmos ecosystem
Cosmos is great tech but the problems long been that the token parent great plus the top notch technology did not translate into token price. The token itself doesn’t seem to be incentivised within the ecosystem.

i have ATOM, but i am not buying more, the upside potential is not great, from the current prize to the last bullrun high is just 6x and in the last bullrun around 30x while Dogecoin and Solana had over 500x in the last bullrun.
atom’s price is $6.2,which is just a little more expensive than it's lowest price in june 2022. if 6.2 is a suitable price for me to buy it?
Injective, Kujira, and MantaDao are all you need if you want anything Cosmos.
Polkadot has a similar functionality with parachains connected to relay chain. In terms of active development, both DOT and Atom are upfront.
Yeah I agree. Kusama is pretty good as well but I would say the Cosmos projects have performed the best this year like TIA and INJ

Atom is my 3rd largest bag. The tokenomics are horrific. When will the improvements to the tokenomics happen?

Thankfully the improvements are happening fast now. Inflation rate was cut in half to 10% max and it looks like the community is voting for Atom to get more use cases as far as actually doing something.
It should be intelligent to bet in Osmosis and Neutron, as they are well prepared to capture the success of the Cosmos ecosystem. I believe ATOM will be replaced by one of this chain as the main source of security and a placed to build on top of. Things have to clarify a bit if ATOM and the Cosmos hub want to actually and economically make sense.

Interchain is what gets me excited the most .
Imagine staking only atom on keplr wallet and receiving staking rewards from many different coins .
A brokerage that recently got coverage on atom said that by 2030 there will be 2500 different coin projects on the inter chain .

Why u not buying polkadot?
My only concern is it’s in the SEC alleged securities. Do you think it would still perform while holding that blemish on its name? What if one should only hold Solana instead of Atom and Matic. All the three are in that list but let’s say one may ideally include just one of them to avoid more risk. What would you say in this scenario?

What is the utilities of atom?
Currently just securing the Cosmos Hub and you get interest for staking your Atoms. The community is working on adding upgrades that will hopefully enable rollup up value into the native token in the future.

I’ve been around a while and I’m speaking from what I understand, look at last bull run. Dot pull $50 while Atom pull $40
Dot has dumped harder around $4 while Atom around $8, but keep your eyes on the next bull run and see again for yourself
What about the 20% inflation rate?
That was just cut to 10% max inflation rate through community voting. Plus if you stake your Atom, you are getting about `10 to 14% APR so that offsets the inflation.

Honestly the biggest thing about Atom is if you stake it you get airdrops for a lot of projects built on Cosmos SDK for example TIA.

Nothing beats Kaspa.
Thorchain also build with Cosmos and also Polygon uses a modified version of Cosmos tendermint engine...Cosmos needs to find a way to capture value from the chains build on it and it will be a top 10 blockchain...

Recently unstaked and sold my ATOM. The technology is good, and has some good protocols using IBC, but no real value capture by the ATOM token itself. I have little faith that they will be able to fix their tokenomics.
You don't feel like the AADAO initiatives will fix the token issues?
ATOM had been my #1 holding for the past 2 years , but I'm not optimistic about the changes. I may be wrong, but the opportunity cost of staying with it weighed on my decision.

I love Cosmos. Super fast and easy ecosystem
But even if it passes will the tokenomics be retroactive? For eg Binance, Thorchain etc all have their own set of validators. The whole system would have to be redone for the security and validators to move to Cosmos instead - which isn't going to happen. Best Cosmos can do is future projects will use it for security than create their own set of validators. This will capture some value but leaves most on the table

In most of your videos, Under tokenomics , you talk about their, total supply & max supply, here you conviniently ignored this ? When are they gonna reveal those details.. if it was any other coin, you would say that is shady, but here never bothered to mention. WHY ?
Probably because it's scary to a lot of people. The truth is there is no max supply and currentl;y the maximum inflation rate is 10%. That being said if you stake atom you outearn the inflation rate so it's designed to reward holders for staking and securing the chain.

Atom has a high inflation rate so you'd have to look at market cap not individual token price. Once you buy the token, you stake it and earn atoms at a rate higher than the inflation rate so the inflation doesn't hurt you.
What about your Metis which you bought at 15$. are you still holding .. I warned you not to buy . It went to 19 and dumped . Now it's 12 .
I sold it for Solana or something like that, I forgot my exact trade

ATOM as a project is great, but is not good for profit investment. The coin has no supply limit. It will keep inflating.

Solana is better - more users, higher transactions & fees, more TVL, easy & cheap to use, saga phone, firedancer etc.
But they don’t have max supply and total supply
Yeah the inflation rate is 10% but if you stake it even on Coinbase (if you're not particularly tech savy) you earn a little over 10% in APR, so even though the individual token price is limited somewhat by inflation, you still beat it by getting interest. For example I earned 15 Atoms last year by staking.
