Wow….loved it. Only restarted three times, then after knowing I was well out of my depth, diligently watched your start again (and again), finally the colouring sunk in. Don’t skimp on colouring the ‘not possibles’ is my tip! Loved your deduction on R2c9 “ that can’t be an 8 or 9…because it’s a 3!” and I was screaming at column 6 pencil marks until you saw them too. Another brilliant solve, showcasing how to approach the logic…and then the numbers will reveal themselves. One of my favourites for 2024 so far…..now I can see if I can get that 90 minutes back in my life! Cheers BremSter….🎉

It took me 90 minutes to get to the point BremSter was at 16 minutes. After 2 hours I gave up and just played "solve along with Bremster" :) Oy, my brain hurts!

I was also fond of the r1c4 deduction

I like your videos because...you choose good puzzles which are usually solvable after a bit of thought...and when they are not, the video points me to the deduction I am missing.

I got stuck badly a few times on this one, nearly broke it at one point, but did finally make it through with a time of 38:39 (conflict checker off). Many thanks to Qodec for an amazing puzzle, and thanks to BremSter for presenting it here!

48 for me, made a hash of the coloring for a bit, then forgot to do sudoku in the sudoku puzzle for a bit. Still nice challenge.

I remember this puzzle. But didn't remember at all. Make sense? I try again, got stuck, need help, continued, finished. This was a great puzzle, I like that I solve it!
Yestarday in CtC Mark solve your puzzle (I know that you know this), and I solve your puzzle again! Almost the same feeling. But in this one I was more lost 😅

That was a very sharp and quick solve! And a pleasure to watch, straight into my favorites list, thank you very much!

    Challenging puzzle but absolutely brilliant!
And what a solve, sudoku was particularly difficult due to all the arrows and marks around the grid, you did a wonderful job!

Lovely little puzzle. I solved it in a very similar way, including the different colours for 8s and 9s.

I got stuck on basic sudoku for about 10 minutes at the very end. Very nice puzzle!

Is this cheating? I had a 58 pair at R1C8 for ages. Then I realized that if it were 5, there would be no way to disambiguate 8s and 9s - there'd be two possible solutions. So R1C8 had to be 8 "by uniqueness". Is that a legitimate technique, or not really kosher?

I don't see anything wrong in using uniqueness to solve a puzzle. Maybe you can wait to use it, as there is probably something else to look for, especially in a puzzle constructed by a great setter like Qodec, but that said absolutely go for it!

Some people like to solve and "prove" that there is a unique solution (by not using the uniqueness constraint) but its entirely up to you whether you are happy with your solve. I personally don't like to use it directly though I sometimes use it to help me know where to look (eg in our example I know I need to disprove the 5 so look for more logic that allows me to do so). But solve it in whatever way gives you most enjoyment!
