This puzzle bamboozled me. I spotted the pattern with where 5 could go, and that got me a ways, but I struggled to find the next step after that. I look forward to watching the video to see what I missed. My time today was 38:53, solver number 988.
Ahh, my mistake is that I thought the key after approximately locating most of the 5's was figuring out where the 5 went in the center box. Given the title of the puzzle, I assumed I had to figure our which of the Four Square renbans had a 5 on it, or whether none of them had one. I knew that at least three, or possibly all four, of them were extreme, i.e. either 1234 or 6789, and if I could find the center 5, I thought that would break the puzzle open. Using the given digits on the outer renbans didn't even occur to me, so I wasted a lot of time struggling to find that darn 5.
there is "phistomefel ring" method for 5, but that is not the key. It is the extreme digit for all 5digits & 6 digits long renban. Starting from Box 9, it is 56789, and 123456, then using dot constrain to locate some digits, find exteme digits in Box 3, then Box 1, then Box 7. 18min to solve.
You’re absolutely correct! I revisited this and it can be resolved fairly quickly from that point of the video. Once you end up with a 9 on the Renban between boxes 2 and 3, the forced 4 on the black Kropki dot in box 2 resolved it all. Well spotted
I was 18 minutes in without a digit, saw that 1 had to be in box 3 and gave up 30 mins in. This weekend the puzzles have been tough, this morning no exception. Watching your solve Sleuth, I couldn’t see how you couldn’t have pencil marked to solve more smoothly. Thanks for the channel as always.
Lovely puzzle. I did a lot of pencilmark. The black dots in boxes 1 and 9 helped to find where the 1 can be. After that I still did a mistake... I wrongly assumed that 1 needed to be in R2C2, and the small line in box 1 should be 23456. If this we have the same 456 in the renban in box 4, but I couldn't make the black dot in box 1 neither the renban. So I went back and thinked twice before I place another digit 😅 Thanks!
Oooh! What a lovely start to the morning! Asking your, "where does 1 go in row 1?" question is absolutely the key to the break-in; lovely solve!
Thank you for the puzzle, visit, and compliment 😁
It’s a fantastic puzzle!
Always a good day when there is a Full Deck and Missing a Few Cards puzzle!
Totally!
Thank you both for the kind words!

I think it’s because so few of the puzzles have any given digits that we almost forget to use them when they’re given 😀

20:07 ... that turned out to be a bit easier than I was expecting
at 17:00 sleuth jumped the gun by filling in 24 - could also be 1 above with 2 below - same result in the end but broken logic it seems

Thanks Jon. It’s been a week of tougher than usual puzzles. I’m doing a bit more hunting for next week and they’re more the right level IMO!
@@SudokuSleuth 🤩 thanks Sleuth

Nicely done. It’s a tough puzzle!
Brutal break in.
Tougher than usual puzzle
I think it’s down to the fact I don’t feature a lot of puzzles with digits on them
They’re there for a reason!
79 mins (I took it slow).
A cool one.
Nicely done 👍
69 minutes, but was doing other things at the same time. I didn't watch the video but I assume me breakin was the same (5's in the corners)
Somehow I lucked in to a 17 minute time. I started in box 9
40 minutes for me.
