The fog just made the place so insanely mysterious than it already is. Totally enjoyed the story behind the location that you introduced to us today. Awesome video, Jenn! 💖
This looked awesome!!! My boyfriend’s mom is from Nantou, so it’s on our list of places to visit when we can finally travel to Taiwan… and we both love Japanese culture, so that would be extra fun to visit the monster village. As always, great video Jenn, thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
Jenn ur the only RUclipsr I watch religiously, I never skip ur videos or ads to try and help ur channel, keep up the amazing content and thank you for letting me live vicariously through you ♥️
I loved the fog, it made the town so cinematic looking… also your camera skills of course. Such a sad yet beautiful story of the friendship between the two men ❤️ That hotel it stunning, excited to see the tea experience in your next video!
The fog made everything just hauntingly beautiful! You're very brave Jenn, I wouldn't be going up a mountain side by myself in a place I didn't know... You definetly inspire me to try and go about myself some more!
Yes. The mist definitely adds to the atmosphere. I'm glad you got back safely. The hotel deal looks pretty good. Just for the sake of buffet desserts aha
I love fog. Give me a giant cup of tea and a comfy chair and I'm golden. Just don't ask me to drive in fog that heavy. Yer vids are always appreciated. Thank you so much for taking us along.
Another great video! Blown away again! The craftsmanship and attention to detail you put in every video is amazing. You always make me wish I was there! ☺
Looooved watching this Jen! I can really see how your videos have evolved over time, I'm really enjoying them (I've been rewatching your older Japan vlogs lately too which are a good nostalgic hit!). Also love to see most of your recent videos have sponsors, its cool to see how far you've come!
Making moves ✨❤️ And I sometimes rewatch some of my old videos to relive the old times in Japan and time with my bestie Ariana 🥺❤️ I hope I can see her soon.
I keep rewatching this because I HAVE TO GO! But also I had to come to the comments to tell you I LOVE your curly/wavy hair and your turtleneck/cream/white outfit in this video so much! It’s perfection. Also this video is great and like I said I keep rewatching it. The fog oh my gosh is perfectly spooky.
Part two coming!! If I made it into one video, it would have been like 40 minutes 😅💦 And the fig def added to it. However I think now at the end of February & start or March, there are cherry blossoms blooming there and around the area!
the shots you took are so STUNNING! this is probably my favorite vlog of yours, thank you for showing us so many interesting places in taiwan (def going to be adding the places you went to into my itinerary!!) :D
The mist def made me enjoy it more. It’s like when I was in Yilan as well. There is something about encountering the fog/mist when you’re that high up that’s kinda magical
The fog was so cool, it created such an eerie atmosphere~ Also, you looked so relaxed after the massage! It was a good reminder for myself to book in for one soon 🤣 Thanks for another interesting vlog~^ ^
The fog looks so dense and cool! Yeah I was surprised by how uncrowned it was. Do you think (by the other comments) there are more people if you go at night? Beautiful place!!
It was so oddly funny to me that you are on this foggy mountain road surrounded by forest and it looks so mysterious and then there is a family mart sign 😂
Hmmm sometimes yes and sometimes no. He doesn’t like to travel and it more of a homebody. When I go alone I can see everything I want to see without having to compromise with another person it being my husband or friend. I have footage of our trip to Tainan together I haven’t edited yet but, coming soon.
Okay! First that fog walk was a bit nerve wracking. And you wore all white 😫. Second…cutest/saddest story about the little town. Third….can’t wait for next video 👍🏻
I was there on a Tuesday and during the beginning of January. I like to travel during the weekdays to avoid lora of crowds 😅😂 makes for better footage & I feel left guilty disturbing others while I film/take photos.
I thought I had been well-traveled in Taiwan, but you keep showing me so many sights there that I hadn't visited before! Thanks for that! And I thought that I was the only one who had a separate "dessert stomach"! Lol! Btw, did you visit the bakery to honor Kubota-san?
I think your brain flipped into "Japan mode" in anticipation of going to Xitou Monster Village. I noticed during the room tour, you said "Shower Room" instead of just "Shower". It made me smile. I recognized quite a few of the Yokai there, couldn't recall all of their names, just that they were familiar. It really does feel like a bit of Japan dropped into the central mountains of Taiwan, with a touching backstory that you told so well.
Your video touched a bit on it, but it was a sad story that at end of WW2, Japanese who lived or grew up in Taiwan and wished to stay in Taiwan were forced to move to Japan, where they may have never lived in. Thus many Taiwanese grandparents, who speak Japanese, remained friends with their Japanese childhood friends.
This is silly but I'm a little jealous of the face mask you have, what's available around me may look good, but usually not up to standard. Of course, a little jealous of the nice trip. The fog does really add to the atmosphere, can see it as a scene in a japanese anime.
It’s bc I travel weekdays when he is working 💯 Just think of these travel videos as my job 😂 For example, I mention I was here in a Tuesday & talk about weekday travel. Best time IMO, less people !

The fog might as well be a paid actor lol 😂😂
@@LayersOfJenn I just couldn't agree more. ✨
Now that I'm finally back in Taiwan I'm going to slowly start visiting all these place :))

It helps that Taiwan is ranked as one of the safest places !! That being said, use your street smarts still but yeah, I love solo travel here.
Yes. The mist definitely adds to the atmosphere. I'm glad you got back safely. The hotel deal looks pretty good. Just for the sake of buffet desserts aha
I love a good buffet 🤩
I love fog. Give me a giant cup of tea and a comfy chair and I'm golden. Just don't ask me to drive in fog that heavy. Yer vids are always appreciated. Thank you so much for taking us along.
Yes driving in fog is hard!! I’ve done it more than once in my home province of Nova Scotia. 😅

Wowww the OG days !!!
I was freaking out that you were gonna get hit lol; that visibility is no joke. Excited for part 2!!! Also that dinner looked amazing.....
Luckily there weren’t many cars !!
In the mountain, you are in the cloud, not fog anymore😊
Exactly ☁️

I recommend you go to Xitou, there is a beautiful forest right next to the monster village.
My next video 😉
I really like that you mentioned that you can easily get a piece of winter wonderland of Japan in any Family mart 💗
That’s very foggy in the mountains of Nantou (南投), Miss Jennifer, and safety to say is that you need someone to hike with you in the quiet area.
Very foggy !! But i think if I went to monster village on a sunny day, the atmosphere wouldn't have been as good!
I heard that too! I didn’t know at the time though 🥲

It is!! Beautiful hotel with great staff 👍🏻
i love that brown mask.
It’s my favourite one here! I’m a huge fan of beige & brown ~
I love this place... So good... I started to miss Taiwan again... 😞
Awe. There are talking of opening back up soon 🤞🏻
Yes!!! Woke up early just to watch 🥰🙏🏽
thank you!!!!!!!
Nice trip! You are so brave👏
If you have time and feel up for it, I believe cherry blossoms are blooming possibly 🌸
Wow! So beautiful and interesting. I would definitely visit this place. Another great video 👍🏻
I really enjoyed that little spot!
You always find some interesting spot, thanks for the story behind it. You've visited more places in Taiwan than I do :D
This was a lovely story and video!
beautiful surroundings
So pretty
As soon as you posted about it on IG, I saved it to my Pinterest bucketlist. I feel like the fog adds to the aesthetic xD.
I’m low key glad it wasn’t sunny when I went 😂

@@LayersOfJenn the sign of a great massage indeed! Haha ^^
You looked beautifuuuul in that kimono. And the village seems so amazing. Is it always so misty/foggy or where you just in luck?
Hmm I think no! It depends on the season. The week prior to me going there it was sunny ~
love it ❤❤❤
Omg ! So jealous, I want a massage and yummy food now lol . Is it super safe to travel around by yourself ?
I am very healthy~ Thank you ❤️
So pretty in kimono
Many people rent them there for photos. It’s $500 NTD for the rental ~
Next video ☺️

@@LayersOfJenn you think 🤔 🤣😂
@@greentoad76 in my defence, I had no idea it would be that misty 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love the place but the hotel and the theme park look both relatively empty, is it low season at the moment? Btw I love a foggy weather! Enjoy!
