For a microphone, you need an ADC. DAC is for speakers/headphones. The Samsung one might have a 3 channel 3.5mm (Left, Right, Mic). I know the Apple one is like that, and to get the Apple one to work with a separate mic, you need to use a splitter that splits out the speaker and mic channels into two 3.5mm sockets, and put the mic in the mic socket. But yes, if you just want to plug in a mic, then you are better getting one of the other ones.
Thank you for the insight. Just researched it, and the contrary to DAC, which is ADC, definitely exists, and it is what is supposed to convert the sound from microphones, so the phone can pick them up. The thing is, all the connectors just talk about DAC. Perhaps because the majority of people buy them to hear music and not plug lav mics in. So, I'm guessing that most of these adaptors also come with ADC or something else, other wise they wouldn't have worked. I'm gonna buy one ADC and also experiment with some sound splitters I have on the Samsung one to see if it works. Even so... if you're getting cheap alternatives for plugging in your lav mic into your smartphone, those picks I talked about are very good choices. Thank you for the feedback.
@@MSPACELOG All USB-C 3.5 mm adapters with a DAC very likely have an ADC as well (and the issue with the Samsung adapter is probably connector-related, as @katrinabryce said). It certainly wouldn't hurt if the manufacturers/marketers/merchants mentioned the ADC as well (including its specs; bit rates, sample frequencies etc). (As a side note for anybody who doesn't already know; DAC = Digital-to-Analog Converter, ADC = Analog-to-Digital Converter)
Thank you for your feedback. I'll have that in mind in my next ones 😉 I've already noticed that issue and tried to sync the audio the best I can, but sometimes it still lags a bit. I keep learning and try to improve a bit at every video I make, and this will is, surely, one of the things I have to improve. Thank you for the feedback, and it is still nice that you tried to watch it anyway.
This turned out to be the perfect video for me, since I've been trying do decide between Ugreen and Conexant, and this is the only review I've come across that actually tests the mic input (ADC). I already knew the Conexant (specifically the CX31993 chip) is a good DAC, but not how its ADC is. Apparently also good. 🙂 Thanks a bunch! 👍
I actually bought CX31993 and i have weird growing echo with phone calls, but maybe its because i have phone with already audio jack builit-in and some Dolby Atmos app(Motorola phone)
Definitely, there is more to this adapter than meets the eye. The ones I've tested for my S22 Ultra work properly, but it's a fact that UGREENitself advertises and has two types for different brands and models.
I have yet to find one that works with my pixel 6a that allows charging and audio at the same time. They give me one or the other but not both working at the same time.
That's s a bummer. This one works for me, but it is actually difficult to find the ones that work as they are supposed to. Miss the days with the normal 3.5mm port... If I find any, I'll let you know.
I just bought the Ugreen and it doesn't work on my Note 10. When I connect to my phone, a message appears saying This USB device is not compatible. I saw many tutorial but I can't solve that problem
That's a bummer. Unfortunately, I don't have a Note 10 to try it out on my different adapters. Could you have bought a defective piece? It's kinda weird it doesn't work. Every smartphone that lacks a 3.5mm jack and has only a USB-C instead should, theoretically, work with these adapters.
Hi. I tested all 3 of the UGREEN ones, and all of them allowed me to switch on UHQ function on my Galaxy S22 Ultra, and I could actually notice the sound getting a jump of brightness, I don't know if I made myself clear. But all of the 3 worked great. I just didn't test the conexant one because I dontknow where I stored it. But I guess it should work exactly as the Ugreen ones.

I got interested when RUclips suggested me your video but the audio/video lag threw me off...

@dev1anceONE that's probably the reason. On my S22 Ultra, that doesn't happen.
Looking for one of these just to have, not a Bluetooth headphones guy, well not yet :)
It is actually more complicated. Some adapters work with certain devices, but not with others and vice versa, which is unfortunate, but true.

Will the ugreen dac adaptors wirk on samsung s24 ultra?
Hi. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't.

On which one UHQ Upscaler function work?
I haven't tried yet to activate that function when I'm using the adapter on my Samsung S22 Ultra. But I'll test them out, and then I'll let you know.
@@MSPACELOG Thanks bro if u do that, im really need to know in which one UHQ upscaler works). I think in Ugreen ones have this function

im looking for adaptor work with samsung tablet s8+
I'll test the ones I've got the best results with my Tab S8 Ultra, and I'll tell you if they work.
You forgot Gamers
How did I forget them?
