So what is the difference between this and JST Heat?

JST Heat is a more expensive plugin with 18 different multi-band saturation modes and many more features for processing and mixing with analog modeled distortion and saturation.
These plugins are specific types of distortion and saturation, each with specific use cases that are lower cost, but have less features.

For the most part, correct. There are a few small differences but Heat is the flagship product that can do almost all that these can do. Heat will also continue to get updates and improve over time. So just stick with heat!
