This song is one of the reasons independent radio will never die. I heard it on 90.5 and bought the album an hour later, which is incredible!
I started seasonal work in HMV, heard this as the manager was a fan, bought the vinyl on my first paycheck, one of the best albums of the last 20 years no doubt. The journey, the emotion, etc up there with the likes of Nocturnes and Good Kid Maad City for just amazing complete movements.
Nostalgic sound. Funk-infused, funk-induced, funk-inspired. Mindful, and meaningful lyrics. Splendid.
Splendid is the word. Amazing to see how he has grown from his acoustic roots. I have loved every step on the journey and this is no exception.

Even though I live in S. Calif, I listen to the Dallas Public Radio station for their great music online: KXT 91.7. They play lots of excellent world music too.

He's successfully fused a wide range of styles and it sounds sweet. It's funky, with one foot in the past, one in the present, but with its eyes looking forward. You know it's good if it borrows from the past, yet manages to sound fresh, modern and somewhat unique.
Heard it in my car. Tried to remember the title. Forgot. Two weeks later. Found it! Music is always worth searching for. Peace.

I just wanted to say, I came across this man's music last week week by letting RUclips select the next songs to play. I have since bought 2 of his albums and a pair of concert tickets to his up-coming show in Boston. Never heard of him prior to last week. Instant fan, my ears are very grateful! To anyone else whom might not be familiar with his work either, I came across a live set of videos he did back in 2012 that have some Jazzy overtones which was equally pleasant to the ear. I highly recommend checking out.

They have always played eclectic music before it becomes well-known, along with the best world music. I think Mr. Bridges is from Ft. Worth, so he was a local unknown when I first heard him.
