Like how Tom isn’t focusing on hitting the opponent but killing jerry and in the process hurts the opponent accidentally

@@KINFIN123 I learned to disassociate. I just make everything simple shapes in my head. And focus mostly on advantage state.
The opponent is basically a civilian getting caught in the crossfire

Multiversus is special because anyone can learn this and easily apply it. The game is just easy to play and pick up and it feels so friendly. I’m so excited to watch this video and mess around with Tom and jerry at some point

The trick to this combo is that after the down air, you have WAAAAY more time to shoot Jerry down than you'd think. So much time as a matter of fact you don't need to dodge cancel at all. Just jump and drift in, aim Jerry for roughly half a second downward then shoot. Do it right and you can just immediately down air again and rinse/repeat.

Lol damn dude you're on another level, the first combo you showcase is very difficult to pull off, yet you made it look so simple. The only combo I can pull off with relative ease from this video is the hammer-paddle-air up, or some sort of variation of air down/air up.

Tom main here, just wanted to mention me and a mate have been playing around with collateral damage stacked and it seems to increase the ground bounce hitstun enough to make combos a bit more lenient.

Hey guys a cool tip that you might not know bc it's not in the move lists specifically, but when you hit tennis balls right after you input the nlight you can aim up or down to send the ball that direction, similar to jerry slingshot. it's great for when you shoot jerry and immediately tennis ball bc people get knocked back by jerry right to where the ball goes if you hit it down. just make sure to aim after the input, or else you'll just frying pan or trash can.
Been trying Tom & Jerry out more lately and I think my favorite confirm is to get Jerry behind them and use the cork to knock them into a charged up racket.

Thank you my guy I've been trying to get those loops right for days I noticed as well at higher percent if you hit with the first swipe of Tom's forward air it puts them in that knockdown state so you can kill confirm off of up tilt up air

2:28 just make your left trigger button jump. I only take my finger off my right analog stick is when I have to direct a special move.

I’m rooting back to my brawlhalla references with this combo so if u don’t understand I’ll break it down. Dair, 3 NLight, DLight, jump slingshot, the slingshot isn’t garunteed but about a 35 to 50 damage combo if u don’t have attack decay also half the loops he shown in this video have precise timing. Because if u don’t there’s about a 2 frame dodge window so get ur timing down.

Does this still work? I cannot get the 2nd down air to combo with or without the dodge. Even tried just doing the Jerry slingshot into the down air, and it still doesn't work.
How are you getting the hit-stun combos? Every time i do up attack into down air it never is a true combo. I can get the up attack into up air but i cant get the other one
You have to wait just a bit before you down air.
I'm having the same issue, I can do the combo but it's never a true Hitstun combo. I've gotten it to be true like 3/100 tries and it doesnt make sense to me how he does it so consistently.

For anyone trying to learn this these are the small mechanical tricks I discovered. 1: setup your controls to however comfortable and easy 2: to get the combo off perfectly you have to start the combo pretty close to the enemy, can’t keep it going with the edge of the pan 3: hold your DI diagonally down and towards whichever way you’re going 4: be patient with the jump into jerry slingshot, wait a little bit after the pan hit to input the jump and then slingshot or else you’ll just be slingshotting without jumping 5: make sure you never go too high in the air, you can press jump and down melee at the same time and it’ll just do the short hop pan hit for you but that doesn’t work with the jerry sling so that timing has to be perfect

Does anyone have any advice/controller settings for getting the up-attack to up-air kill confirm consistent? I find what happens is after the first 1-2 hits of up-attack I try to cancel into a jump-up-air, but half the time what ends up happening is either only another up-attack, or only a jump comes out, like there's some weird delay preventing the jump/up-air coming out.
Use the l or r button to jump this makes it so you don't lose frames from moving your finger from the jump button to the analog stick
Isn't the AI supposed to be set to "Dodge While Hitstun" for it to count as a true combo? Also, should you use analog stick or d-pad for movement?
I didn't even know you could change the movement options
is he using a directional dodge for the string or is it a neutral dodge

These combos are so easy to do in practice mode but once you get into a real match they feel nearly impossible to hit

I came here to see what I was doing wrong because I thought I was good at Tom & Jerry, but I got whooped by a Jake player so hard I didn't KO him once in 2 matches. Felt pretty bad and I wanted to know how I could improve or if I should just try a different character.
I have a really hard time keeping up with the swings when going for the loop hit combos. Like the up the down smash into the jerry then repeat. I can never keep up to continue the combo

A small combo I do sometimes is
Side attack x2
And down attack
And then jerry
I meant jerry neutral

Hey Void, what’s your opinions on 2v2s? I noticed many streamers and Smash players who have come over and are popular do a lot of 1v1 content, even though the game is designed for team play.
I’m worried that if 1v1s become too popular, it will throw off the balance that the devs were going for, making 50% of the characters unplayable.
Do you think ranked 2v2s will be popular / competitive? I really hope so, I think playing with friends and the teamwork implemented is something fresh for a fighting game

I can do the loop but it hurts my finger to jump then flick the stick repeatedly.
Rocket is the noob method for kills but sometimes it's good for ledging.
Two jabs and a rocket is an easy confirm…he never brought it up

Recently when practicing this combo when I hold down, jump, slightshot (neutral special), a lot of the times the slingshot doesn't even come out (although it does make the startup noise). This just started happening today and hasn't happened at all before when I was practicing it. is this a new bug anyone else has experienced or am I just bad now? I feel like I have always shot the slingshot this way and I've never had this issue. It only happens when I hit neutral special almost immediately after hitting jump (so I can delay hitting neutral special a little bit to circumvent this) but it's very annoying!

Question would the perks make it rain dog, (projectiles go 20% faster) and ice to beat you (and projectile that knocks the enemy back you get 1 frost) make this combo harder/impossible?
When I was using those perks on Velma I noticed some combos were a little harder to pull off but you just gotta lab it a little more.
I was reading that make it rain dog doesn't work right on Tom right now.
@@ssj2_snake it works, it just makes the combo harder from what I can tell. Not to mention there are better perks.

Void? how did you cancel the side-attack combo into another side attack combo?
I can do the combo but it's never a TRUE Hitstun combo. They always get a chance to dodge out after I go for the 2nd D-Air.
A key detail I missed that probably should've been included is that you don't have to dodge before jumping every time, when I was practicing this I would often miss it because I dodged when I didn't have to. As stated in the video (not in detail) you have to dodge only when they go farther than expected.

Tom and Jerry are actually best friend together. Owner ordered Tom to chase that Jerry. If he doesn’t want to, owner will replace him to someone else.

The thing I find most difficult is trying to angle Jerry downwards after performing the down air. Everytime I try it makes me do mouse trap since the combo is so close to the ground
That's why he said he uses the neutral special keybind. No matter what direction you're holding, it'll shoot Jerry and not use a different special
