i have to say this video was very useful, i was trying to understand what has changed in the targeting and fighting mechanics since last i played and this explained it all and more!
I'm still not 100% sure that the new fixed weapons mechanic where it 'helps' aim is worth swapping from gimbals, but with the Vanguard having the fixed guns mounted in it that we can't swap out, it makes sense to run an all-fixed loadout. I just wish we had some more weapon options for the Vanguard.
That's a nice and concise guide, congratulations! I didn't play for quite a while and came back for 3.11, I also couldn't agree more about the auto target head tracking active by default, seeing the hud and mfd's all over the place was extremely disorienting.
@@MrKarolinger thank you for that very specific recommendation! I just got a dual joystick setup and I think I have bound too many keys! Going to start with simple...
How do I un target turrets at ports. For example, when I fly into PO it shows a bunch of white arrows (chevrons) which is highlighting the turret defenses... how do I turn this off because it constantly makes a noise when a new one pops up as I get closer to the port?
The display and the beeping when you have captured a new target cannot be easily switched off. If you have actively set one of these targets as a target, you can remove it again 🤞 If the display of "friendly" targets bothers you, you can deactivate them in the game menu, but you will no longer see any friendly targets 👌
@@MrKarolinger hmm that’s interesting. It use to never do this. I don’t have any targets locked on. They just randomly highlight and pop up. It use to only show people and their ships and of course enemies, but randomly out of no where it started showing all the turret defenses around stations and ports. This happened in 3.11 and 3.12
amazing, well done sir! i really wish we had this guide back in the days when we start playing, i would be avoiding the embarrassing moment and the walk of shame to reclaim my ship xD. definitely recommending this guide for starter combat pilots. but I'm wondering, sometimes i hear players keep saying that they aiming for the ship engines or the turrets, and i was like WoW, you guys have really good eyes to be aiming from that distance like this xD. so i want to ask if there is there a way to target a specific part of the enemy ship ( like a default key)? or i just get close combat and just manually aiming for whatever part i want ? like always, thank you for the video. cheers.
@@MrKarolinger had no idea what that did- does it only currently work for missiles right now? Also, have tried testing in Arena and noticed that I can only use the ships I own... I have plenty of REC (subscriber), is this functionality not available right now?
Thank you 🤩 The current missile system is currently being revised and the minimum and maximum distances are very strict. In current versions, these distances are also displayed in the lower right corner of the hud depending on the missile type
Hello, at around time 7:05 to select multiple targets there are photos of the A and F4 keys, would this be Alt and 4 instead? Thank you for the video c:
I bought a Hotas setup and test it again and again, but I come from the shooter area and therefore feel even safer with the mouse. But the switch to the joystick is already underway 😁
By the way can you help me detail a bit more steps to get stealthy for pvp/pve what do i need to go dark? Also will it have a signature ,my ship ,if only lights are on?
The individual key assignments can change slightly from patch to patch. If you display the key assignment in the menu, you will see the current standard assignment and can adjust it there according to your wishes.
@@MrKarolinger Ive scrolled through the settings for half an hour now but cant find anything that mentions Esp aside from turrets. Both in controls, key bindings and game settings. this fixes a target and your character tries to keep looking at that target 🤞 you can find out more here ruclips.net/video/W6QqJKeLCQA/видео.html

The auto zoom in on target is the worst. I can't tell status of my shields or any instruments for that matter.
you can also disable the feature completely 🤞

Why is there G-Force in space????
Acceleration and counter-thrust give rise to g forces 🤓

I've tried the alt+o combinations but it only turns off the shields while having the ESP remain on.
