With hundreds of figures, accessories, and tons of interactive environments, no other toy company has attempted what Playmates did with their World of Springfield Simpsons toy line! From Bart to Hugo, Homer to Donut Homer, Moe to Handsome Moe, nearly all from the iconic Simpsons universe are covered in this video!

I only started collecting a few years back but it hurts to this day to see the Series 17 and 18 pictures
And we could’ve had Maude Flanders, Krusty’s Dad, etc

Next to Star Wars, World of Springfield may be one of the greatest world-building toylines of all time. Playmates really knew what they were doing back then. So many obscure characters, so many completed "teams" like the Pin Pals, The Mobsters, all of the Springfield Police, etc. We got so many backgrounds, locations and accessories that often contained little in-jokes. They look incredible when displayed together. One of my all-time favorite toy lines.
And if you were one for action figure photography, WoS delivers in the the playset department.
Only legends remember Burger King’s Simpsons figures.

Wonderful video! I was looking for a video that went over the whole line, quickly, and showing off the talking capability. Also, i had no idea that a 1980's styled collection was released, that's so cool! thanks for making this!
I loved this line so much. They had so many characters, accessories, and moments represented, it made me happy they covered so much ground as a huge fan of the series. There wasn't much more we could ask for at the time. I had a lot of these figures and playsets that I sold for next to nothing to make ends meet at the time. I wish I still had them but I've moved on collecting wise. Great collection and awesome retrospective! Thanks for covering this line of figure, it really brought me back!
These figures and play sets look incredible. Some of the best likenesses of any toys to tv show for sure! The first 8 seasons are probably the best programme ever made, of any genre. That's a strong claim of mine there!!! I was 17/18 in 2000/2001, so I wasn't really aware of these toys until now as at the time I was nearly permenantly drunk or in bed.
The first atleast 20 seasons I would say, an even stronger claim
I had every figure, mail-away & playset from WoS & I can remember how I bought each one & also how I would check Target & Toys R Us every week. Looking at those again is almost like hoping a time machine.

I have to wonder why they only did these cheap one-room playsets and never tried to make like a full Simpsons dollhouse or something
There was an interview in ToyFare magazine from one of Playmates' executives saying it will not be cost effective and feasible. The amount they will have to charge for the whole house will definitely make it a high-priced and limited item that will result to low sales.

Very fun to see your collection so many figures I wasn’t collecting the since I was more in Star Wars but I did get my hands on 2 figs Lionel huts and Frank Scorpio but I wish I could find more

In spite of that, it’s still a pretty comprehensive lineup of characters you’d want even with some holes present.

I remember owning the Chemical Plant Homer set and a Bart figure. Sadly for some reason Homer's figure was missing the talk chip when I opened it. 😢
Maybe batteries just needed to be replaced? There was no chip in the figures, the set did it once connected to the feet.

I traded my ToyFare exclusive radioactive Homer for a Boxing Homer.
Man, seeing what could have been with the canceled lines is a bit heartbreaking... I would have collected this line forever.
I feel that if this line made more variations of the main characters that kids mostly know about, this line could've kept going. Still, I'm glad they didnt go that route. I love seeing all the side characters!

Growing up I was obsessed with the simpsons . My parents encouraged this as it clearly made me happy. I had a few of these sets , but there was one I wanted but could never find. Until now... these are the best sets and I’m starting up the collection again

When all the Kmarts started closing a couple years ago, I went to one and bought their old magazine/book displays. Thats what the displays are. They work really well at retail for toys too!
