So, in 1993 or 1994, as an 8 or 9 yo, I wrote letters to Titan Sports & Hasbro both which expounded on my dissatisfaction with the Hasbro line. I LOVED Wrestling & I LOVED GI Joes - the extra articulation & more lifelike presentation of the figures meant that, despite buying Hasbros to be a loyal fan, whenever I wanted to have a good wrestling figure tournament, I had to sub in GI Joes. Snake Eyes could execute a piledriver a lot more believably than Ax from Demolition (or any other figure). So, I aired my grievances & suggested that they just create WWF superstars in the way of GI Joes (but maybe a tiny bit bigger). Never heard back from them. However, this is the FIRST time in the almost 30 years since that I’ve ever heard they actually had plans to create GI Joe WWF figures! Lol no delusions of grandeur here - I seriously doubt two “titans” of industry looked at the god awful 8 yo penmanship & said, “this needs to be given some consideration.” …but “seriously doubt” doesn’t remove EVERY shred of hope. Lol! If anyone has any more info on this scrapped line, please forward me to it! Awesome video, btw! Just found you today, but I’m really enjoying the channel so far. Cheers! 🤙 EDITED: Forgot to include entire point of my story in initial post 😂
Thanks man! Yes, I tried to stick to ones that’d be easy for the casual fan to spot. There’s quite a few others with subtle alternate parts or minor deco changes that I left out like Owen, berzerker, Samu, Scott, whackers, etc.
0:36 they were only $4 retail?? Why do I feel like I remember paying $8 as a kid? I guess my memory of that is wrong? The ring was less than $20 is also shocking to me. Even with inflation it seems so cheap… for the value that’s free.
Now I'm gonna have to look again at my Hasbro collection because I swear I've got Doink with the green tights. Maybe not but it looks too familiar. Love these videos!
I was talking about how Series 12 should’ve been Orange carded with Diesel, Jeff Jarrett, Mabel, KOH Owen Hart, American Clad Lex Luger & Bob “Sparky Plugg” Holly I got 4 out of 6 right plus the color correct. This is the first I’ve ever heard of this too. I used to deal with these on eBay back in 2007. I had a great collection of about 90. I even sold a complete series 1 all MOC American cards and sold them for $400. A great price back then. Now people are asking for around $1,000 for a complete series 1 which is ridiculous b/c by my calculations all 11 series 1 MOC Americans are not worth much more than $600 and that’s on great condition cards. I wanted to get back into buying & selling but as I said people ask waaay too much for them now. I even had a series 3 Ultimate Warrior mint on American card which I regrettably sold for $300.
Nope. That is oddly a hasbro handpainted proto before the final design. The belt was initially intended to be the intercontinental title before being changed. They toys with the idea of painting it flesh tone before just painting it the color of his tights. The Funskool Ultimate Warrior that was released was a series 2 figure with what looks like Christmas colors haha
@@FigHeel I believe ya! Just watching your videos makes me reminisce and now I'll have to take a look at my figures and see what all I have. Besides I get to give them to my son so now I have stories to tell.
Thanks man. So the unreleased version was intended to be a mail-away that featured different flesh tone, different color pads, different wrist tape and alternate right design!
Man I wish they released the orange card series I must admit the usa version of luger could of had a better paint job and using the bam bam mold for Mabel is a bit of a cop out he was as big as Yoko they definitely should have made a new mold for him
I agree, It would been awesome if they released the Orange Card Series 12 Figure Series. Perhaps they could made a Deal or can still make a Deal today with HASBRO so that they only allowed to release that last Series 12.
I think these were the best wrestling toys made but I've been watching allot of these vids and I've noticed no one ever talks about the sid vicious Hasbro I had one and I notice everyone that does vids on these toys they never mention him was he a rare I remember him like it's nothing cause I just got rid of them last year he was in blue tights with black boots
Bundy wasn't really around for the Hasbro line. He left at the end of 1987 and didn't come back until well into '94. Barbarian...who can say. Though probably the biggest pushed name of the era not to get a figure was Dino Bravo.
@@pronkb000 They could have made a King Kong Bundy figurine in 94. Around the time he fought the Undertaker in Wrestlemania. They would have looked cool imo.
@@johngroves3126..... O nothing serious it just makes my list of wrestling stuff I need in my life longer and longer and my bank account lower and lower lol

These figures were my childhood !!!!! Nothing beats their commercials
I couldn’t agree more. The commercials are just as iconic as the toys!
This video is dope!!!! You gotta do more like this of unreleased or rare figures!!
Thank you! I plan to make one for every line! 😬
Beautiful bit of wrestling nostalgia
Thank you sir. Glad you enjoyed!

Haha for the sake of this comment let’s pretend they got the idea from you!!
@@FigHeellol I’d very much appreciate that, thank you.
The WWF ring also worked well if you used GI Joe figures for your wrestlers.
That’s true. It’s the perfect size
You missed one but great video. Check out the adverts for Owen. Has different legs.

Wasn't the original legs for owen the warlords legs or am I wrong if so I would really appreciate it if you know what he was originally going to have
Outstanding episode...👍🏼 I enjoyed seeing what never was and what could've been on the best wrestling figure line of all time...💯✔

It all depends on region/location. In my area they were $3.99!
I wanna say Bret Hart himself had that mailway figure we was suppose to get in a fish tank on his documentary
One popped up on eBay in recent years as well!
This stuff is Gold!
I believe series 12 Doink wasn't heel by that point
I love the WWF HASBRO COLLECTION 💯
It’s the best
Awesome video brother. I love how much stuff is brought to light in this video, gotta appreciate the history and what if's of the wwf hasbro line.
Excellent video!! Well put together. Thanks for sharing

I've always wondered about that LJN Ricky steamboat figure that was supposed to have red pants

Yeah man. The markets crazy right now. Prices have skyrocketed in the last 6 months. But man I would’ve loved a Sparky Plugg Hasbro
How do you dust that display?
Surely that final Warrior is a Fun Skool figure?

Do you do custom work? Like I want to combine three different figures, legs & head from hogan series 1, body from Sid, and arms from hogan series 3
they by far the best wrestling figures.
would been awesome if they made it to the stone cold years and the rock think we would got to session 30.
I wish man. I love these figures
We got mattel retros which aint bad
Did the prototype ring with the cloth skirting ever materialize anywhere?
Not yet, but we can only hope one day it shows up. Never say never!
This was really cool to check out,Brother! Love your vids,my man!
Thank you so much for the kind words brother!
How do find these figures thats crazy
What year was the orange doink supposed to be released, also how do you know this was heel doink?
The orange cards would’ve been early 95. I did not mean heel doink, Thats a slip up that was missed in voiceover.
all good, also did you notice that that the original doink figure (released in 94) had 1993 stamped on its trademark?
The Bret with the pink shirt? I've got that one for sure. I've got like 3 different versions of Bret. I feel like a kid again 😂😂😂
