I went ahead and took my brakes off my Tacoma. Most times you get stuck is when you hesitate so when you aint got no brakes you cant stop anyway so your only option is floor it and give it hell if you need to stop at the end just downshift and cruise into some thick underbrush or hit a patch of small saplings that will bend. im working on a remote anchor release but it aint ready yet.
just remember give it hell there aint no stopping now... yee haw
I might have to try that technique.
Tacomaholic I got a 02 taco trd 4x4 ive had for awhile now. its a great truck the only problem i ever had was several years ago i was having problems with my woman and didnt change the oil for way too long and one day at lunch i started it and it made a wierd kimda pssst sound and then started smoking like a freight train
.. wtf checked my oil and it was low and waxy drained it new filter new oil still smoking but just till it warmed up then no smoke at all. wtf looked for answers online and saw lots of people had the same problem but none of them had the answer to make it quit. some people used a catch can inline with the pcv valve to catch the excess and said it kinda worked ok. so i made my own contraption which seemed like it would work better but that wasnt the answer either. in the end i still use my contraption but added a T so i could vent it back into my oil filler cap and presto no more smoke at all no more oil in my breather box no more oil running down my plenum tubes. it actually does way better than when I first got it and it didnt smoke then. my motor is a 3.4 v6 and what i heard was the oil drain journals are undersized and what happens is your head has more oil than it can drain and it gets sucked into the motor. i think a T would work too but i know my dads cars from his day the valve cover where you had your oil cap the other one had a breather cap. all i know is theres people out there with the same problem.
peace
well one more thing in my case i tool off my plenum and valve covers and cleaned all the sludge out. got ready to do the bottom at the oil pan and found out the easy way was to pull your motor out because the oil pan couldnt come off unless you did that or did it the hard way and unhook all kinds of crap underneath the truck. i ended up putting that T in and motor oil sludge cleaner and it did the rest of the sludge removal plus a few extra oil changes in between. best advice keep your oil changed
I removed the steering components, totally not needed for off roading! All i have to do is hit the brakes and it turns. But now that i have taken your advice, what to do? Its nice having a light truck for off roading
@@jaspernewcomb5656 I actually carry a large grappling hook with me so I can chuck it out the window like a boat anchor when I want to stop...

1. Sway Bar
2. Mud Flaps
3. Rear wiring harness + towing plug
No air dam? 🤔
great advice! i also ripped off my mud flaps AND broke my plug connector - wish i had watched this earlier
I so agree on removing the mudflaps! I got rid of mine shortly after i got my Tacoma.
Excellent decision!
It never really made keeping the truck cleam any easier 😝
went mudding a week after I got my Tacoma and snapped mine off. I forgot they don't just fold.
I took my trailer wire harness and replaced one of the license plate lights with the plug it fits almost perfect with little to no cutting I had to drill a hole for the harness so it wouldn’t slide out but that’s a good alternative for people that tow things as well as play off road
That is absolutely genius!
bro your tacoma looks awesome!
Ha! the Trailer plug was my 1st casualty too!!
We are all victims.😀
Yupp! First thing I broke on mine was my towing connection! 😂😂 same thing tho I didn't care cuz I'm not towing anything...LoL
Lol yep. It sure does make a loud crack when it breaks though. 👍
Have busted a mud flap....but I crushed tf out of the trailer harness last off road trip...slammed down on a boulder
I'll take the rear mud flaps.. im looking for a set.
Agreed. No longer a worry. But those were items on the initial 86 list.
Heck yeah brother!
I wouldn't go telling people to pull the swaybar without first understanding their suspension.
Denman Fite yup, this is such a bad idea for most people. Only ones that should be doing this is people not ever carrying a heavy ish load at any speed over 40mph and absolutely need that extra 1” of wheel travel. Otherwise, its just a very good way to find yourself ass backwards in a highway ditch.
Can you do obstacles with swaybar??
Bogchi Jaypee no take the sway bar off. I did. Its so cool i can go around corners and lift inside tire off the ground its kewl. And i get 2 inches of extra ground clearence
@@johnpatricksevilla08 obstacles?? I know a lot who wheel with and without their sway bar. I haven't had mine for probably 80k mi. But that isn't a testament to your truck and driving either.
@@gsfbffxpdhhdf7043 both of those statements are so false. Holy shit.
I ripped off a front mud flap backing up over a curb in the city, not on the trail lol
Lol it happens! Those factory flaps hang down too far.
I backed up a steep driveway and my mud flap got caught between the wheel and ground and ripped the whole fender well of the rear passenger side. I was pissed
I still have not seen Tacoma sway bar disconnects. I have seen some ideas for DIY, but have not tried any of them yet. third gen mounts the trailer plugs above the "step" with the license plate. several, but not all aftermarket bumpers will reuse the stock light and plugs so if you plan to tow with a third gen, but want aftermarket bumpers, be sure to check with the bumper manufacture to see if they reuse the components and if so where they are mounted.
I had to back up a hill while 4x4ing and presto, the mudflaps on the right side of my truck ripped off. Also destroyed the tow plug when i was climbing up a steep hill and my bumper scraped in the dirt
Same here. Amazing how easy it is for that to happen.
The problem is the damping up front. Most people seem to think that the sway bar is the primary anti-roll device, but it's only supplementary to the spring/shocks. Ideally, the spring/shock (spring rates, compression/rebound shock rates) should be able to control roll enough to the point of eliminating the need for an anti-sway bar entirely, while still being able to handle everyday driving. Idk if we're there yet, technologically speaking 🤔
1:18 I thought you only had blue pants on and some serious chicken legs 😂😂
Lol while I DO have chicken legs .. they aren't that bad. 😀
Great video. I broke my towing connector, too. The metal bracket holding it bent 90 degrees, so the rock gave me the mod for free. I don't tow a lot, but I am always the friend with the hitch when my friends need towing.
Also, I would never drive at highway speeds without an IFS sway bar. Since we're in the same area, I assume you drive to Rausch, Big Dogs, and Chaos? I would imagine those would be white knuckle drives without a sway bar. How is your handling? They do make front sway bar disconnects with sliding rods that keep the sway bar links away from CV joints that you could consider as an option. They are only about $150.
Thanks for watching Chase! I haven't seen a disconnect kit for a Tacoma yet so send me a link if you have one.
Here's a link from a cat on Tacoma World that sells both sliding and extended sway bar links. Unfortunately, I can't give you a review, but I've decided that these are the ones I'll be getting when I get back from the sandpit. If he offers a group discount, I'll order them with you and just install them when I get back.

Yo man good vid! Loudoun County VA here!
Thanks Jacob! I hope to see you at one of our Tacoma meets some time.
Chesapeake here! Fixin to run the beach in obx next weekend
Yep. Mudflaps #1, Trailer plug #2. Do it. 86 and/or relocate these.
Thanks for watching Zach!
LOL I too destroyed the trailer hookup my first time out 🤣🤣🤣first thing within 5 mins
Glad I'm not the only one!
Where can I get that after market one what was the link called.
I too did the same
But I was off road and dont know where I did it
I don't see that link to get the bracket to relocate it..
Awesome video
Thanks buddy!
First thing I broke on the trail was those stupid extra long front mud flaps. Put the broken one back on. Problem still not solved. After that I bent in the passenger side rocker panel under the door. I had that repaired and ordered a beefy set of rock sliders.. problem solved. Shortly after I broke off the trailer harness. I relocated it by the license plate. Problem solved. I don’t have an issue with articulation so the sway bar stays. I wouldn’t live with all the body roll anyway so I don’t think I’d ever take it off.
Great vid, but the sway bar mod may be more for advanced off roaders, not something I’d throw in (for beginners) along with the mud flaps and trailer harness!
Thanks for watching man!
I've run no front sway bar for years on my '89 4Runner. There's hardly any difference in handling. Sadly, there's also hardly any different in front end flex. I guess it does save a few pounds though.
Yeah I think my sway bar must have weighed 25-30 lbs.
I drive a 4Runner, but I’ll definitely have to remove the mud flaps
Mud flaps gotta go on any 4x4. 😀
Two of what u said is in my take off list 😂
I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport. It's really starting to rust heavy under the truck. There are small holes developing under the doors. What is the best way to treat all the rust and the doors? Is it worth sinking more momey into it or should I just buy a cheap gen 2.
You are getting rust holes on the actual doors or the truck body around the doors?
Does anyone know the name or brand of that rack/cage he has on the bed ?
Hey Luis! It's a KB Voodoo "tall" bed rack for short bed. Here's a link to the site: www.kbvoodoo.com/shop/
I just got a 14 TX Baja and got a front bumper for it , looking for a rack system like yours where did you find it?
Hey Shawn thanks for watching! My rack is from KB Voodoo. Here's a link to their website: www.kbvoodoo.com/shop/ and here's a link to a video I did on the rack: ruclips.net/video/vHRp1Qiyfo4/видео.html
1:16 why did I thing the blue stripe on your pant was your whole leg lmao
I have been known to skip leg day.
Dun sun.It still is the factory connector. I just used about a 2" hole saw to cut into the bumper. The metal is pretty substantial. Unless you have quality bits...they will get burned up. The hole saw just got too dull to continue. I did have to take a hack saw to some of the extra plastic on the back of the connector to make it "round".
I recently got a 03 Toyota Tacoma pre runner double cab, and wish to put in some quality speakers and subwoofer for relatively cheap, does anyone have any recommendations thank you!
Hey buddy! Tons of good info here: www.tacomaworld.com/forums/audio-video.12/
Def agree with the mud flap removal
Yep, gotta do it.
Did tht the first week I got mine
I cracked my 06 mudflats going down my in laws drive way.😕 I’ve scraped them on speed bumps too so their amp way you could go off-road with them. I’d like to find some shorter after market mud flaps.
I took mine off by offroading, ripped em right off.
Where do I find those square LED lights on the hood, how hard is it to mount them?
Hey buddy! There are tons of options to choose from for the lights and the mounting brackets but here's what I'm running. Lights: amzn.to/38vEoU2 and Brackets: amzn.to/2NLUcdc The brackets just install using 2 pre-existing bolts that you can see when the hood is popped.
Hey Tacomaholic what skid plate did you use to replace the factory OEM? Looking to change mine out
Hey Dave, I've got the AllPro steel IFS skid up front. There are tons of good ones out there though. Look for a company based close to you because shipping can be high on armor mods.
Exactly what happened to you happened to me with that tow outlet
It's happened to a ton of Tacomas. Poor placement on Toyota's part.
nice truck sir. i have a 16 4cyl manual 4x4. i put a lil lift on her, love it. Thinkin of goin to 285s and better lift once i pay it off. and likely a regear
Thanks buddy. I'm running 285s now, love them. No regear yet.
Tacomaholic how do you regear taco. The rearend looks like its a sealed unit
I took the Toyota Badges off my Tacoma truck and it looks great
Sway bar disconnects don't work on our trucks because the sway bar would make contact with other suspension components if it were hanging loose when disconnected.
Yeah I saw a thread about that on Tacomaworld after making this video.
I don't get why ya'll don't just zip tie it out of the way like everyone else.
I probably would have done that if I was interested in keeping my sway bar on.
Broke that plug in MOAB. Hehe
Yours makes for a better story than mine Brian. I broke mine on a small dirt trail behind a gas station. 😀
Good video but im going to highly recomend people dont try to wrap their trailer wiring (or any electronics) in a bag. You might think you are keeping the water out but it will find a way in, and when it does your wires or harnes will quickly corode and become useless.
One of the nice things about a live axles
Love the sway bar disconnects have them on my tj and had the bds discos on my zj
Awesome mod!
Do you know of any mud flaps that will work with Bushwacker pocket style fender flares on a 3'd gen Tacoma?
I'm not sure on that one.
What’s the best way to use stock bumper and raise that part that hangs down and breaks
There is a relocation bracket for that trailer harness: www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trailer-harness-relocate-bracket.282311/
Does any of you tacomaholics know where i can upgrade front bucket seats from Manuel to electronic...I have the 2016 Tacoma xp 4 door...all I need is wire harness an the bottom rack...i would like to reuse the rockstar seats it came with???
Hmm good question. Have you posted a thread about it on Tacomaworld?
Check junk yards too you can find gems in there sometimes with really good parts still
Just found the channel, we must be neighbors if that is the Movie theater in Centreville!
Yessir! That's the movie theater that has a curiously high number of Indian film selections. 😀
I've got a 13' TX Pro, I live up the street off stone road.
Sweet. We need to grab a beer sometime. 👍
Do you guys know any local off roading spots?
The engine.
The transmission.
The stock tires.
Hey there me myself I have a 2016 Toyota Tacoma SR5 and I have a Lotta different upgrades on it I think I should put it on you do you hear it’s a really nice looking truck I get compliments every day but however your lights to blue or the purple are they like the LED rings or is that your bulbs and or is it your H ID bulbs if you could let me know I’ll prescient it and let me know if you can get different colors thanks keep up the videos
Thanks for watching! The LED rings around my headlights can change to any color.
It appears you don't have a trailer hitch receiver.. On my truck the receiver hangs down below the plug so its not that bad. A few months ago when I was rear ended my ball hitch went through the guys grill, radiator and engine block my truck only got a scratch and broke the plug off. I will never not have the hitch installed on the road. You can see picture on my Tacoma world post www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tacoma-rear-ended.519576/#post-16456286
I'd recommend getting a hitch even if you don't plan to tow.
I've been rear ended as well when I did have the hitch and it was amusing seeing the damage to the Honda Accord that hit me. 😀
its an aftermarket bumper believe the hitch is now built into the bumper looks like a pelfrey built bumper
haha I have driven with my ball hitch on for the same reason and the one rare time my wife drove my truck I guy drove into the rear end after having a few too many drinks-mashed the front end of his rented Mustang and nada to my Taco. My neighbor did get annoyed bc he wanted those few inches to park behind me on the street-so I did remove it
Tell your neighbor to f off. Not really. Tacos are tanks.
I had a mustang rear end me in my Jeep Grand Cherokee and I didn't have hitch in but the receiver still busted clean through the bumper
mud flap ripped off? come on Toyota! when I had a ZR2 Chevy 4x4 all I ripped off by going off road were the lower transmission cooler lines and the idler arm and lower ball joints wore out fast.Im saving more $ paying $600 a month for my new Tacoma payment than owning a Chevy or Ford!!🤣
You obviously can't drive off road..lol
Hmm you think it would mess my paint up if I took flaps off for road use?
I never had any paint issues after removing mine.
Forgive me for coming onto this channel as a 4runner owner, but how much of a difference is there between a 4runner and the taco? I'm thinking not much, but how often would you cover mods that apply to one but not the other?
Hey buddy, no need to ask for forgiveness at all. :) What year is your 4Runner? I believe a lot of the parts for the newer 4Runners and 2nd Gen Tacomas are very similar if not identical. I'll actually be doing a lot of research on 4Runners too since I plan on getting one for my wife at some point. Great vehicle!
Tacomaholic I’ve got an ‘18 stock at the moment and very few miles on it. I’m pretty much new to it
Same engines same tranny pretty universal rigs
No apologies, Tacos and 4Runners are family!
No apologies, Tacos and 4Runners are family!
Question! Steal or aluminum for off road bumpers ? And why? Thanks.
Good one! I'll add it to the next Q&A. Quick answer: STEEL all the way.
andreW jordanN stealing peoples off road bumpers is wrong
whyyoutubewhy haha but that’s how you build a cheep truck !
So wrong. 😀
andreW jordanN just got my first taco toy last night. Brand spankin new 17 turd off road. Went from 0-160 miles overnight XD
Those headlights are dope how much did they cost you
Thanks Justin! They were a little pricey and fall into that category of being more than a little but less than too much. Video coming on the headlights soon! 👍
Nice truck! Who makes the rear bumper you have
Thanks Eric! Rear bumper is from All-Pro but I wouldn't recommend buying anything from that company anymore. Check this out: ruclips.net/video/kMZ5cpA5bE8/видео.html
The link for the connecter relocate is not in description
I wasn't able to find one at the time.
Lol pretty sure you’re in the parking lot behind my friends work. Getting my tacoma this week gotta link up
Lol probably. Where does your friend work? Early congrats on your Tacoma purchase! Let's grab a beer if you are in my area.
Tacomaholic yeah bud I’m out in Shenandoah I got the trail outpost 🤙🤙 lol. I was supposed to drive away with it on Friday but the dealership wasn’t able to issue temporaries because of an outstanding debt from the previous owner. So they put a stop on the vin and they have to get it released tomorrow.
I thought it looked like the parking lot behind moes in south riding but I think you’re more in the neighborhood actually.
I’ll comment when I get the truck and we can coordinate for a beer!
@@lofttm969 Argh frustrating! Hopefully everything goes smoothly tomorrow then. Yeah that video was made in Centreville. Are you on Tacomaworld yet?
Tacomaholic Everything worked out and I got it yesterday! And not yet, I will find out today. Been on the lookout for the orange man bad taco 😂🤙🤙
@@lofttm969 Glad to hear everything worked out! Just in time for a holiday weekend.
How about the rear drum brakes, the crappy c section frame or the gas hog v-6
Not sure how far I'd get without the engine or frame.
Where did you find those head lights and how much did they cost
A guy on Tacomaworld made them and they cost 1 arm and 1 leg and took forever to receive after surgery had been performed.
Do you have a lift on your tacoma? If so, which one?
Hey John! I talk about what I'm running in this older video: ruclips.net/video/jKPtaxayQpk/видео.html
I removed my doors. Quicker entry when you are really ready to go.
Hey!!!! Northern VA! Im here too
Sweet buddy! Are you on Tacomaworld?
I am but I sold my taco few months back and now looking for another taco or the 1st gen tundra. tejtrummerdutta is my handle on there
Hope to see you out at one of our mini meets!
What does the red paint on the differential do?
I just did that for looks. I suppose it adds a small extra barrier for rust prevention though.
They moved the rear wiring harness up onto the bumper next to the plate now on the third gen.
Thanks Buck! Glad to hear Toyota is getting smarter about these things. 😀
Same with 4Runner
Can I put the sway bar back on whenever I remove it?
Absolutely.
The 2021 Taco had the trailer harness beside the license plate.
Yep, good to see Toyota adjusting some of the small things like that.
"Tell us we will die like dogs...." :)
“ You killed the Invisible Horseman!”
with the short A arms the travel you gain off road disconnecting the sway bars is not worth it. If you want more flex do a soild front axle.
Solid front axle sounds great. Slightly more involved though.
I have a 05 tacoma my 4wd light has been flashing for months won't engage in 4wd and ideas??
Do you engage your 4wd regularly meaning at least once a month? Have you been changing the front diff and tcase oil every 25-30k miles? How many miles on the truck?
Tacomaholic 170k miles gets changed every time I get oil change I get all fluids changed, light just blinki and won't engage or anything
That's a fair amount of miles. Probably need to have a trusted mechanic take a peak at it.
I removed the front flaps real fast, but left the back ones. I'll just let the trail take those from me.
The back mud flaps might actually by fine (or at least better off) since those tires aren't turning like the fronts.
Tacomaholic Yup, I have knocked my trailer hitch off-road though.
same, although I'm thinking about it.
What mods you recommend if you don't go off road?
Tons of fun mods to see here: www.amazon.com/shop/tacomaholic?ref=ac_inf_hm_vp&tag=amazonquery-20
The Prius mods
Nice vid. Do you run the sway bar off all the time? If so how does it run on the highway? Thanks
Yes I leave it off all of the time. To be honest when I first took it off I barely noticed a difference when driving on the pavement because I drive my truck like a truck and not a sports car. I'm not taking corners at higher speeds or anything. On pavement speed bumps and potholes don't feel as rough either since you can hit something with one side of the truck and not have it transfer to the other side as much.
Quickly turning the steering wheel at higher speeds is where not having the sway bar will really have an effect on your truck.
Tacomaholic also what do you think about wheel spacers?
Personally I don't like them, but a ton of people run them without any issues. I'd rather have a wheel with the proper backspacing/offset so you don't need the spacer.
How much were your steel rims?
Just took the sway bar off and wow what a difference feels like I actually have front suspension now, handles way better. The sway bar acts like a limit strap that is on all the time. Great vid thanks again!
Keep the sway bar of heavy duty shocks ihave drove mine with out it for 3 years plus with no issues take it of and flex
Same here.
Ever since you removed the sway bar. Have you noticed when you flex if you run more that your wheels are tucked further up
There's a little bit more flex.
Anyone got a subwoofer box they would recommend I have an access cab
Hey buddy check out this site: tacotunes.com/
Tacomaholic alright thank you
Sure thing buddy!
Please don’t drive on road without the front sway bar removed!
JeepCherokeeful why
Cause then it drives like a 60s truck, and people now do not have the driving ability for that generally. It is there for a reason, go around a turn without one and the body rolls way more cause there's no longer anything to stop it.
It's legit scary lol I broke mine without knowing on my 96 tacoma an it feels like your truck is gonna roll over almost the whole time driving
LOL Why is that?
No it's not!
1.) Couldn't you simply fabricate your own sway bar end link disconnects by buying ones made for a jeep, and cutting the jeep ends off, cutting the tacoma ends off a set of steel end links for your model year, and welding them to the disconnect shaft, as well as shortening or lengthening the disconnect shaft to match the tacoma's specs?
www.roughcountry.com/sway-bar-disconnects-1186.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAhrbTBRCFARIsACY7MW0RU9Cg5ub_FXRMxW-0D1cgLJ7TltzwFbe9bCx7NG4UGUA7AoQNb0YaAgWNEALw_wcB
Found these, looks like a really simple, and cool mod to do. some cutting, a bit of welding, grinding, welding, etc., coat of black, or red to match you tow hooks, and bam, you've got the only taco with disconnectable sway bar, so you keep the on-road stability, and have the off-road flex capability.
I've seen a few people talking about doing something like this. That would certainly be cool if it would work for the Tacoma.
Lol the last one happened to me
It can happen to anyone Liam. 😀
Come on man, I like running only 1 mudflap it's stylish. Just kidding
Lol, I did consider leaving all of my mudflaps on until the trail removed each of them for me. Curious to see how long it would have taken.
This is hilarious for me..I had only one mud flap for months because my other one flew off on the highway...not a taco though, I drive an 89 Chevy K2500...I have semitruck flaps so it looked ridiculous XD
lol
GPG Studios I have one on one side right now cause one flew off. I kept hearing a thump at 45mph which was the flap popping backwards and eventually it broke off. Next time you pass a Tacoma on the free look and you’ll see the front flap bent backwards or missing. Those things are way too damn long even for not off road.
Just get quick disconnecting sway bars links
Your not allowed to be in the Rosas without the mud flaps in some states. Not heavily enforced, but easy exude for pull over and free money ticket.
that’s for big semi trucks. Not a lifted camary with a bed
Wherever they see those purple lights on that Truck you will get a ticket from State Troopers!
Indeed! That's why I only drive with the white or amber on.
Tacomaholic what headlights are those?
What’s with the thumbs down?\ great vid ! Thanks.
Lol I was thinking the same thing! I'm just trying to help people avoid breaking stuff that I broke on the trail. 😀
Luckily for me, a rock removed my trailer plug so I didnt have to
Why do you have your rear diff painted red? I've seen this on a number of trucks and jeeps and was just wondering what it is for.
I did it purely for looks brother. I suppose it might offer a bit of rust protection too.😀
I think some companies sell them in red. Like some brakes you can see through the wheel are red...
I've seen differential armor/covers in a variety of colors. Haven't found one I liked yet though.
Gotcha. I'd imagine that it would make it easier for your spotters to see on the trail as well. Maybe avoid bashing your diff on a rock..
If you add an ARB locker, the housing is red. Or it least it was on my buddy’s truck.
What are those headlights on the truck called??
Greetings! Which headlights are you asking about??
@@Tacomaholic Behind you on the black tacoma. They look like they have a dark blue bulb and all black around the light.

Ok are you going laugh at me ? Mine is all stock. Don’t know what to do. I was going get tires and lift. But I heard you have to change a lot things and spending starts. No ending
A lot of money can certainly be spent, but it doesn't have to be a ridiculous amount if you plan things out. Are you just going to be doing light to mild offroading?
Tacomaholic i want smoother suspension than stock lift maybe 1.5-2 inch and tire 275-75-17 Without rubbing or cutting anything. I want drive it on mud small rocks. Nothing extreme. Just curious driving it off road. It’s 19 hate to scratch or bend anything. What you recommend ? Thanks
@@Lexusgx550 Chances are high that 275/75R17 is going to rub and need fender plastic trimming and a cab mount chop. Something like this would be good: amzn.to/34vSB2c Then you could do an AAL in the back if you wanted to lift the rear as well.
send me the rear mud flaps I need them
I would if I still had them buddy!
what year truck? I have some.
Nice tacoma I have a way older one. A 2000 she's way over mileage
Thanks man! What is over mileage on a Tacoma? 2mil?
Tacomaholic you're right lol I just bought a new bumper a trail gear so newest add on
Very cool. Happy New Year!
All you need to do is remove the end links and the swaybar is disconnected you don’t have to pull everything to do so and it’s only for off-road use you definitely want to put it back on before you get back on the road
Why not just remove the links and cable tie the sway bar up when offroad, then put the links back on when you're on the road? I guess if you primarily drive offroad it wouldn't be a bad idea to completely remove it, but if you drive on the highway it's going make the truck handle significantly worse. driving without the sway bar is comparable to driving with low tire pressure, something we do when offroad, but most of us air the tires back up for the road. I agree that we're adults and can make up our own minds, but I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you're willing to sacrifice on road performance and safety, not to mention the liability factor if you happen to get in an accident, especially a roll over. Ultimately it's your choice though.
why remove the sway bar when you can install a quick disconnect? hmmmm
Haven't seen a quick disconnect that works yet for the Tacoma.
@@Tacomaholic not hard . Hillbilly ingenuity.. cut the links... drill holes... cut pipe to fit over links with same drill holes.. clevis pins and done
‘Snow’
That 1/2" we got that day is enough to shut things down in this area. It's sad really.
Keep the sway bar just set it up with disconnects. It’s not that hard
Seems like the sway bar rubs on Tacomas with disconnect kits.
Anything can be done. I made a disconnect for my explorer. Might have to get a little creative with some tractor supply loot.
I'll have to check it out as that would certainly be a nice solution.
No seatbelts we die like men!!!
I bought a tacoma and then after 30 days I traded it in on a real truck, the suzuki grand vitara. Now that thing can go off road!
Not a truck if it doesn't have a bed.
Not a truck if it doesn't have a ladder style frame*. I would still consider a land cruiser or suburban a truck.
lets go off-roading some time we'll see how it handles compared to my 4x4 Tacoma
Sure wish I could get a Suzuki Jimny, modern stuff is so damn big.
