Great playing as always John! I love how animated you still get when you play gear you are obviously impressed with. I finally bought a Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue in my forties, thinking I had solved world peace and then I plugged into a Supro Black Magick and was gobsmacked! Now I have to try this. Every amp I get is a step closer to the curb though, according to my wife unfortunately. I should start an amp hiding business for those of us with little self control.
I absolutely love the fact that there is not a spot in your place that doesn't have a guitar in it. So impressed, as always, with your playing!! You rock, my friend!!
The folks at Valco (original designers & makers of Supro, National, etc. amps) were apparently big fans of the 6973 power tube. It's in lots, maybe most, of their '50s & '60s amps. It's kind of a beefier EL84. This Neptune sounds killer, as does JB's playing. 👍🏼
hey john, 6973 tubes are the tubes used in tbe ampeg amps the stones used in 69' thru 75' 65amps stone pony amp utilizes the 6973 tubes as well, play on brother play on
Good old classic rock &roll. Rythem &blues.. Practice. For classic new news on young fingers might be a better way to look at it when it comes to classics and real music. kok
Great playing John, and that amp sounds really good. What kind of B bender is in that Les Paul? I don't see a knob behind the tailpiece like the old Parsons White benders had, so how does it work?
John's got the job of making that strap fail, if at all possible. I'm hoping it doesn't, but if it survives John Bohlinger, it should survive anyone. ;)
drum machine! i wonder if when keith richards plays with Charlie Watts , he just walks in the room and say's Charlie Watts! , in fact that would be a cool drum pedal, something that could copy the styles of bonham ,pert , grohl, anyway
What does it mean to take pedals well? Are there amps that do not take pedals well? I would like to see someone demo an amp (a decent amp) that does not take pedals well so I could understand what that means.
I have this killer 64 Vibroverb, but it never sounds great with pedals. It's weird but for whatever reason, all of the stuff that sounds killer on my other amps sounds like dog doo on that amp.
were looking for the led zeppelin of today and the Kind of music that might really get it to the most ultiamte level. the bands of the sixties and seventies were recory music and extreem highnesses that jammed the music right in over the dashboared and into the next kind of lifetime. from the kind of music that made us love them most... but the meatal world has that of the eightes and in the ninties the oporation mindcrimes. and in two thousand the country music and now the new age mu of the heavy meatal hounds of love and hate. i still love the music that has song and classis stories about my life and everyone elses .... but my6 fender starcaster is just about the size for my son or my kids to learn how to play. guitar.. it's a good thing to play guitar but practice is important and the music you make is based on some time frame.. right
Thanks for upping the recorded quality of these first looks. The dream team deserves HD.
All the Supro line of amps sound incredible!!!

Love Mr. Bohlinger's playing style; awesome!
Thanks EW
Bohlinger has more chops than a butcher.
Really tasty playing there, John. 😎
DRUM MACHINE!!!! 😂
Beautiful strat! Great playing man!
thanks.
I'm sure glad I bought one ,,,they are AWSOME
that's a superb sounding amp. also nice playing and sweet strat, though the amp sounds amazing.
I really like videos with camera audio, seriously
Felipe Justino yup, same here, no bs that way
Do your neighbors hate you as much as we love you, John?
They do. Cops know me by name.
at risk of sounding like a fanboy, i could listen to those licks all day. your neighbours dont really know how good they have it
This amp's got the Soul Power!!!
Just in from Milwaukee? I believe it's pronounced "Mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."
Excellent.
Mr. B is sounding like Danny Gatton with all that fine hybrid picking ..wow !
you are too kind. Danny Gatton would kick my ass.
Yes please.
I like your Howard Finster cutouts. I have a few also.
what a treat!

"Transistor-style radios with tubes..." huh? LMAO
Nice!!!
Looks like an El-Dorado strap ya got there :-) I have one of their Black hand tooled versions and I'm sure it will last a lifetime :-) Great playing.
Great guitar player.
"Perry's a total tube wierdo" haha
Seriously though, I'm a huge fan of yall. Keep up the great videos!

subbed !
Great playing John, and that amp sounds really good.

My friend Forest Lee made it.
Is your tremolo noisy? Is the amp noisy? Mine is a touch noisy
John have you ever done a Rig Rundown of your gear? Thanks Sir
John and his bossman Lee Brice: ruclips.net/video/yus1-coYimI/видео.html
ya im all into supro the jimmy page one kicks ass too on second thought i it dont sound chorusy at all
Very nice john. Great tones with that Strat. That a El Dorado strap.? 👍
Thanks Dave: My buddy Roland Millington made the strap. It's my fav strap. Find him on Facebook.
John's got the job of making that strap fail, if at all possible. I'm hoping it doesn't, but if it survives John Bohlinger, it should survive anyone. ;)
How does the B-bender operate on the LP John. From the front I couldn't see anything attacehd to the B-string.
it's hidden under the bridge. Works like a normal Parson/White. Very fun
drum machine! i wonder if when keith richards plays with Charlie Watts , he just walks in the room and say's Charlie Watts! , in fact that would be a cool drum pedal, something that could copy the styles of bonham ,pert , grohl, anyway
yea. nothing like a strat thru a fender. Xcept LP thru a Marshall

Do a video! I want to hear it! "Good Gear Gone Bad" with John Bohlinger
I feel no need to buy any other amp now that I have a deluxe reverb.

Wat
Blasphemy.....a b- bender on a Les Paul. What's the world coming too?
Sure wish I could take lessons from Mr. Bohlinger!
Thanks Kelly. Check out my Premier Guitar series "What Bohlinger Plays". You can learn all of my crazy crap; it's surprisingly easy.
Here are his lessons in one playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLq9mmHLGk12mFhQ1WPNMKXTWwuO6NJl_6
Easy? Lies. Lol
honestly, If I can do it, I promise you can.
Thanks, John. Means a lot. For real.
