I totally agree with you on spending more on the amp than the guitar. I've mostly played budget guitars through great amps and this has worked well for me. I'm not saying the guitar doesn't matter. Of course they do. Guitars all have their special thing. Hollow bodies sound different from solid bodies; set necks sound different from bolt-ons. But the amp makes the biggest overall difference in your soundscape.
I completely agree with you about top-mounted/reversed control knobs. It's a legacy from when guitarists would sit BEHIND their amps on a bandstand... and NOBODY DOES THAT ANYMORE! (Hell, a lot of players aren't using AMPS anymore, either.) But enough players think it's retro-cool, so amp builders keep doing it. Fine, but it's still stupid. Thanks for letting me vent about it. That Supro looks and sounds good.
I agree regarding Amps. A better Amp will make a less expensive guitar sound better. Just as a better speaker will make an Amp have better sound. Right On! Keep-on-Truckin'
Got my Supro Amulet 1/5/15w 1x12 Celestion Creamback this week. Playing A/B/Y with my Laney L5T-112. Very happy with the Supro and the two amps compliment and contrast each other well.
I demoed the 1x10 Amulet and it is the angry Princeton I've always wanted. I could gig this amp straight in, no pedals. Your delivery is as refreshing as Canada Dry! Bada-boom!
92db out of the 1w setting is still loud enough to affect hearing over time. I think OSHA starts getting concerned at around 85db with prolonged exposure. Certainly less damaging than the 105db at full power. Nice job on the review.
Nice demo. Any time I’ve seen a Supro demo, I’ve been impressed. It has the tones that I love about Fender amps, but maybe even better. Still out of my price range, though. Not quite the same thing, but I’m fine with my Katana 50 MKII.
Thanks for playing so many guitars. I’m an Epiphone/Gibson guy and I love P90, so thank you. Love the sound of the amp but those backward controls are maddening. It took me a bit to get use to your dry humor but you won me over, great video as always.
I love Supro amps, I had a 15 watt Supro that had excellent clean as well as kick ass overdiven tones. Sold it because of the lack of tube accessibility. Great video. Funny as always😆👍🎸
@@MOAB-UT Yeah I can change them out....all I was saying is that the space to put your hand is small and very cramped. Its quite time consuming when compared to similar tube amps
Yeah, I really like that one. I have the 1wtt Delta King 8. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles. It just has tone, volume, master volume, and a boost switch. Killer practice amp for what it is. Although I would absolutely trade it in and upgrade to the Amulet for sure.
Hi Landon. Would you say that the Supro’s reverb and tremolo are just as good as the Princeton’s? I am in between these two amps and while I have played the Princeton and love it, the attenuator on the Supro is striking me as a better option IF the reverb and tremolo are just as good. Thanks.
Nice animation again. I have a few tube amps and lots of pedals. Used small digital amps with apps for short practice or playing when others were sleeping. Then I got a HeadRush. Prime is my second. I’ll take the HeadRush to play live before I’d take a heavy and more expensive tube amp for most cases.
I love Supros. I almost bought one like this a couple years back but bought a Fender Bassbreaker 15 instead. The Bassbreaker was good, but I regretted not buying the Supro.
I would like to see a comparison between the Supro w/ 12" spkr, Princeton 12" again, VOX AC15, Harmony H620. I am looking for a low watt tube amp with superior cleans, reverb and tremolo. Don't care about overdrive unless it nails the "Robben Ford sound".
Ooo that Supro Amulet sounds amazing, the amp's gain stage rocks! But the 10" is pricey in Canada at $1500CAD (on sale). Generally I agree, a bad amp will kill off motivation to play while a good amp will inspire creativity. Luckily we can get a reasonably good amp for not much money these days. My most recent new guitar (PRS SE Swamp Ash Special $900CAD) cost twice what my most recent amp did (Quilter Superblock UK $400CAD, no cab with it as I only use DI out).
Been intending on getting a new amp for a while. My ac10 is so temperamental. Every once in a while it sounds amazing, but usually it is terribly harsh, overly bright. Seems to sound the best on very rainy days (not kidding). It's been a toss between a Princeton reverb and an ac15. But i just found out about this supro. I'm really actually waiting to find out more information on these new coming vox handwireds before i make my final decision. If the new vox has the right kind of reverb and sounds at least as good as the current ac15c1, I'm inclined to go with that.
Kinda interesting in your decibel test... with a speaker efficiency around 90db @1w.... each extra watt bought you approximately the same number of decibels. Really starting to worry about my 90 watt in that case 💀

your opening statement is an excellent fact, objectively there is no argument about it. I only wish you could be wrong and I could save money on amps(lol).....

hey thanks! I haven't tried pedals at all through it
grazie per avermi risposto buon weekend mr Landon
What a awesome video have a good weekend Landon ❤😊
I’m really interested in the 12” speaker version of this amp to replace my Princeton. So sick of the ticking sound on my Princeton
like a ticking clock?
.......another excellent review, thanks!
I think that it sounded a little dark?was it partly due to the microphone you are using?
I didn’t hear darkness
The new supro amps are great
👍🎸
So Sweetwater now ships to Canada?!?!? Yay!
i like how all of this guys videos sounds like he didnt prepare at all before recording
I agree with you about the control layout. I would not buy an amp with controls on top.
That jazzmaster was the star of the show. They could have sent you a supro guitar with it just saying 😊
the D'Angelico is in the Supro family :)

Did you experience the overdrive causing a crackle in the reverb tail?
I have not
