Thank you SO much for giving us a CLEAN demonstration!!! I'm so tired of demos that are played distorted, with pedals, etc!
If ur buying this u may as well go to reverb deluxe and get the light weight, larger amp with second channel

I picked up a TM Princeton so I can play it in a condo. The attenuate is a good feature. My tube amps are too much. Good vid, guys.
These amps will separate more and more in favor of the Princeton as you turn the volume up or put pedals in front of
They both sound great! The 'real' one is getting up there in price. A used TM Princeton would be a good value i think. Probably be a while until used ones are around. I like the extra features. The weight is not a big deal as the tube Princeton isn't all that heavy anyway. Low maintenance cost on the Tone Master is a good feature as well. There's a big enough difference in price to make a solid decision. Fun demo.
It’s the natural crunch and chime of real tubes. Maybe with the tone master pedal you can add chime in
its the natural crunch and chime of a tonemaster twin - in my home and it stays that way

The blackstar debut series for less than $400.00 and less puts the over hyped over priced TM series amps to shame.
@@BryanClark-gk6ie I’ve got the 5 watt black star head actually
I think for what it's worth the difference is apparent in a live gig setting.
SS amps don't cut through as efficiently it seems to me. But my back thanks me!
I also felt the TMs are overpriced given the components are so cheap compared to valve amp circuits.
Single coil guitare need to be quite goosed to respond like through a valve amp.
But judge for yourself. They look nice for sure.
I have a real Princeton ( I guess you may disagree to call it real ) but it has a 12 not a 10. It’s that 65 reissue tweed one. And I have a Tonemaster. Well 2 I have the Deluxe Reverb and Princeton.
I also have the tube Deluxe but it’s a 68 RI. I guess my point is although I have the TM and Tube of both it’s hard to compare but I love literally all 4. God I love amps and guitars!
Subbed btw.
I have that same exact Princeton with the cannabis Rex…amazing amp.. they will get close with time master and kemper stuff but never the real deal especially in person. On recording I’ll have to argue you don’t “need” a real tube amp. But for live performers or real players you need that thump and pushing air and response from a real tube amp.
Cool you guys are still in business in Webster Groves! i used to visit you a lot when I worked about 3 miles away! You guys set me up with a great Ibanez guitar I still own and play! It is a great SA260FM guitar that can sound like a Gibson and a Fender when needed. I took some group lessons there too! Will have to visit again sometime!
That's amazing! Come stop by anytime!
Now I wonder how close the Tone Master Pro's version of the Princeton companies to either of these amps.
it would be have been good to know which amp you and your friend were playing through when you made this demo. Maybe you could add sub titles? Thanks
My brother, there's text on the lower third of the video telling you which amp we are playing. Thanks for the feedback!
@@DavidsGuitarLoftStLouis whoops -sorry pal
It would be interesting to have a blind performance so the player can't see which is which. Also, critics dislike the Jensen speaker and prefer the Celestial in the Deluxe Tone Master.
That sounds like a great idea for a video! Thanks!
The Princeton Reverb just has a chime and depth to it that the Tone Master can't replicate. The Tone Master sounds really good, and it's totally usable. But it's not quite on the same level as the Princeton. If you spend a lot of your time by yourself, you'll notice the difference. In a band situation, I don't think anyone would notice much of a difference.
Man, I'm out in St Charles county. I need to go check this place out for sure. Looks like a legit place.
Also in the amps, from all comparisons that I have heard, it's almost like the tube sag is the only thing in the software they missed. And on top of it they could always software update it. I have been dying to get my hands on one of these, and been debating on whether to buy the actual tube model or not. The biggest issue that I have with the digital one, while it is less maintenance, 20 years from now, I maintenance a tube Amp, but if an IC got bad, or the entire SOC, then what?
You are correct, there are pros and cons with owning both styles of amps. Feel free to stop by anytime and try both amps for yourself!
@@DavidsGuitarLoftStLouis Thanks I probably will very soon to get a chance to to A/B and make my decision. The light weight, and cheaper price is really tempting honestly. I know ever Pearl Jam are touring with these rather than the tube amps now because of the lighter weight and consistency. But I will have to come in and see for myself.
my tonemaster twin has all the warmth and butteryness a twin has ever had...
Your creativity and skill will determine an audience enthusiasm and applause. I doubt if more than 5% of them can hear the difference between a Tone Master and Tube amp. Whether playing or in the audience for over 50yrs, never once did I hear someone say,"I really like the sound of that amp!" This is strictly a musicians opinion and ear sensitivity.
why do you call one of them the real one?
Because humans use shorthand all of the time to communicate.
Great 2 player comparison. Tesla vs internal combustion... HAH ! Wondering how better it would sound with a neo-12" speaker instead of a 10".... Stick it in a heavy relic'd tweed cab... Play some BLOOZ !!!
Nothing beats a real tube amp. You just can’t replicate it, you can get really close, but it will never be IT. I bought a Deluxe Reverb Tone Master, and was disappointed, especially for the price I paid.
Tube amps have their cons. But if you're focused purely on sound, then tubes win.
Love my TM deluxe. And I’ve played many amps, including tube. It is an awsome band amp. It is light weight but can be both out or quiet with attenuation. I really deluxe is too loud at the distorted level. I think it makes more sense to skip the Princeton and get a larger TM since they are so light
Very close. To be fair, no two Princetons (tube version) probably sound exactly the same due to tolerance drift, etc.
Blind test ... would you honestly be able to spot which one is which one?
Man the owner has chops. Really enjoyed his playing. The TM sounds good
Appreciate the feedback! He’s got a wealth of knowledge and we’re excited to have him on the channel more often!
The real one sounds better
the real one is the tonemaster

No.its a wannabe copy.
@@BryanClark-gk6ie 😆 yes, as much as a 2024 porsche 911 is a wannabe 1975 porsche 911
You got it' same thing for posers.
Why So Expensive ?
Tone Master lacks the “weight of sound” of the tube reissue
tunning
If the differences were not so obvious, I would say play these damn things and stop speaking every 5 seconds. But even here, I don't get the hype for these TM. Do people hear something? WTF??
Yes I can hear a difference, one sounds superb, one sounds shite!
One little power surge from the electric company and your Tone Master is a paper weight.
