Heard the Yamaha CSF3m was the best small travel guitar. Went to my local guitar shop that had the Yamaha, the Taylor mini, and the mini Martin. Tried them with their guitar salesman. Great player. We both agreed the Yamaha blew the others out of the water. Made the others sound like they were nails on chalk board. Wasn't even close. Have not tried the Alverez. I do own their top of the line Yairi Dreds.

I have one and love it it really does feel and sound amazing. And to think it’s only in its early stages I can’t wait to see where it goes with future updates.

The Alvarez sound is more balanced. Clearly the mids are there in the Alvarez where the Taylor is all about the treble strings.

Tone Master sound compressed. I will definitly not switch from my Fender tube Amps. Thanks for the video.

Big difference is that Taylor has Elixirs and Alvarez has uncoated strings that were sitting on that guitar for who knows how long. I understand You could not do that but real test would be with new pack of the same strings on each.

Thanks for the video! Someone in a review said the high E kept slipping off the edge of the frets. Did you notice anything like that? I've had a guitar in the past do that, and it was super annoying, and after seeing that review I'm paranoid

Which one projects more and sounds bigger? The GS Mini sounded amazing to me in person but I never got my hands on the Alvarez

I went to Elderly in Lansing, Mi to get a Taylor, but I left with an Alvarez. I haven't been able to beat the sound. My Alvarez has solid top.

My ears are completely different than yours😂. Alvarez was out of tune. Alvarez had more bass low end. Taylor had more high end. But that's to be expected even with a laminate rosewood or ovankol when compared to laminate mahogany. I know there are that those that say the laminate back and sides don't make a difference if not solid wood, but that has not been my experience. Also, is the alvarez more comfortable to play with the 1 3/4 nut?

This would have been so much better had you compared the Sapelle version taylor that is more similar to Mahogany. We are primarily hearing the difference between mahogany and rosewood. Mahogany has a little more warmth.

Excellent job !! Most of the comparisons I watch lose me after a little while, but I stayed with ya for the whole clip. And....I believe you are absolutely correct. I own the mahogany OMV, love it, but i am now maybe interested in the rosewood. I'm in Fenton so maybe see ya sometime. Really good Job !

I have the Taylor GS mini e koa and mini mahogany...mini mahogany sounds better to my ear. I would try the Alvarez if they would start putting out offerings with a satin finish. I like the woods and electronics they use...all of the materials are great...but I'm finding I don't care for the gloss.

You did not mention Prestige or Premium as your title stated. Well… price..differences ,, recommendations..?that is what I thought to find here but didn’t

The Princeton Reverb just has a chime and depth to it that the Tone Master can't replicate. The Tone Master sounds really good, and it's totally usable. But it's not quite on the same level as the Princeton. If you spend a lot of your time by yourself, you'll notice the difference. In a band situation, I don't think anyone would notice much of a difference.

Rosewood sounds bright and rakey Mahogany sounds full and deep Thanks, I'm rhythm so this is helpful.

No one seems to understand that the best “travel” acoustic is the YAMAHA CSF3m or the CSF1m and they’re much cheaper than those, I don’t think gs mini is priced 1000! 😅
