You could try periodically pressing the D key to sync up the directional gyro with the magnetic heading. This might work even though the magnetic heading isn't displayed any where. Also, there's a setting in the assistance options where you can disable gyro drift so that the DG always shows magnetic heading.
Gidday. Thanks for your video. How do you uncage the gyro heading. The actual heading you are facing. Mine seems stuck on 0. If I set myself up on the runway it is uncaged. I tried the uncaged knob below but all it does is spin round and round.
A few days ago, I bought the Ford Trimotor aircraft. The GyroPilot functions as expected in the Ford Trimotor. I was excited because I thought the same GyroPilot was installed in this aircraft, assuming it would work the same way. However, it doesn't. The only thing that reliably works is turning the GyroPilot on and off. The corresponding button is coupled with the autopilot's on/off switch, so I suspect the GyroPilot isn't functioning at all. I have to fly the aircraft using the autopilot, which is disappointing because I enjoy working with the retro instruments. I haven't found a way to properly activate the GyroPilot. As for the magnetic compass, the lower scale of the GyroPilot should indicate this. However, something is not right. This scale shouldn't move when correcting for gyro drift. Since the last MSFS start, the lower scale is frozen at 0° for me and doesn't move even when I change the aircraft's heading. There are other bugs as well. In the overhead panel, the CDI needles for VOR and ILS move in the wrong direction. If the ILS path should be on the right, the needle is located on the left. I hope these issues will be fixed quickly because overall it's a beautiful aircraft that provides a lot of enjoyment.
Couldn't agree more!! Yes it's very disappointing. Since Aeroplane Heaven made this, and it's the same Gyropilot as in the DC-3, l can't understand why it's a mess in the B307. It's either rushed or badly tested or both. Exactly that's my point, l posted in 3 Facebook groups asking about the Magnetic compass, all answers lead me to the Gyro drift, but that is not a mag compass. Annoying to have to use heading and VS on the modern AP, it totally kills the immersion and we may as well be flying a SR22 or TBM. And did you see another reason not to fly it, no real liveries yet
@@Topofdescent55 The lack of liveries isn't such a big issue for me since I fly primarily from the cockpit view and not in an arcade-like external view. If the aircraft impresses me and the issues are fixed, I might create my own livery like I did with the Ju52 or my Carenado aircraft. I believe this aircraft will receive updates since everything seems to be somewhat there, just not fully completed. Perhaps they didn't have enough time due to the release deadline. Another thing that surprises me is the scarcity of RUclips videos about this aircraft. Either nobody bought it, or they're just as frustrated as I am. (translated with ChatGPT)
No it doesn't work in any of the Aeroplane Heaven old planes...it just happens that people don't push the planes above 10.000 feet to see how bad it fails!

Having this problem as well. Probably go back to the DC-3, which seems to have a functioning gyro pilot, until this is hopefully fixed.

Maybe there is a conflict between Gyro Pilot and Bendix autopilot.
