When your pin-pointer makes the weird noises that it did, in your video, alter your frequently settings on your detector. You can go to F1, F2, F4, or F5 and most of the noise, if not all, will go away. Having your pin-point close to your detector is like having another detector close to your Simplex.
I'm in England and got mine 2 days ago, over the years i have had high end expensive detectors and the Simplex is up with the best, the Simplex cost me 300 quid and brings the fun back to detecting if it's in the ground the Simplex will find it and in 3 days i have had 3 Roman coins from a farm field near Ipswich and made 15 quid in change from a local park.

So if you ever come to London may be worth trying to get a permit to go hunting with your eyes only at low tide as don't think the City of London allows detectors in city centre (but may be wrong)
You have both fishing AND metal detecting in your channel name so I HAD to sub! LOL- good test man! When that pinpointer was making it go nuts I was screaming "Freq Shift" but you figured it out quick enough! Looking forward to more!!
Hey, great video my man! Some good testing, and it’s good to see it out and in action, for sure. I was fairly concerned when I saw the reaction to the pinpointer, but once you changed frequencies it made more sense. For the price, I feel like it didn’t do too bad. Looking forward to more on this detector! 👍🏼
Field mode is the best. You can use iron vol or notch to knock out the iron if you don't want it. Park mode is only for shallow targets in trashy areas. Simplex likes a fast swing also, picks up much better.
Enjoyed the video! Liked and Subscribed. I have the Simplex and have drawn the same conclusions. Great machine. Good luck in the hunt and keep the videos coming!
I really like this video! I bought the Simplex a couple weeks ago, and haven't started using it yet since I'm testing the Anfibio for Kellyco right now. I'm anxious to get out there with the Simplex. Thanks for the info on frequency change with the pinpointer issue.

In 2024 I am still having and still using my original Simplex+ and I think this is still a very capable Metal Detector. I have it with the extra coils 22 and 24. I did not buy the new Simplex Ultra. I also own other metal detectors like Minelab Equinox 800, Nokta Legend, MInelab X Terra 705 and very old Fisher F5. I think I don't need other newer metal detector.
Great video I'm waiting on my simplex to come in.We will be using it around old mining camps on our channel. Great review we subbed. I am really glad I found an alternative to the $650 equinox 600 especially with it getting bumped around alittle in our atv.
@@1894Outdoors we have a utube friend in PA. Lester lapore sr he is a great subscriber and sent us a nugget from Georga for our 1000 sub giveaway. I had a whites 24k and it's a great machine very sensitive but man they need to update the 1980s sounds🤣
The reason for the chatter is because the Simplex is 12khz and the Garrett pinpointer is 11.5khz. Way too close to each other. It's not a flaw, just engineering fact Options? The Deteknix X-Pointer is 95khz so zero problems. Or go with the Nokta Pulse Dive pinpointer, which also pairs with the Nokta wireless headphones simultaneously. There are others too. Just make sure to choose a pinpointer that has a frequency a good way away from 12khz. HH & GL
I definitively want to upgrade to the pulsedive! Thank you for the information I'm currently working on a revised review after using it for a few months. I have hundreds of hours of experience now and want to share it. I'll use the pinpointer fact you just told me
The new update should really help with the pin pointer noise. I had the same issue with my Garrett pin pointer and downloaded the new update problem solved. Great finds. New subscriber.HH
I got mine the day before yesterday, but I live in southern IL, and our weather has been nasty for the last couple of days and I haven't been able to take it out and use it yet.

I think its comparable but I still think the equinox 800 is a step up and it should be for the cost difference. But for a cheaper machine the simplex holds up amazing. I wouldnt consider a different machine on a lower budget.
