The minimum winter temperature over there in Bethlehem would not have been less than 10⁰C. Here in Uttar Pradesh north India where winter temperatures often goes below 6⁰C, farmers stay out in the fields keeping watch on their yet to be harvested crops and cattle all night. For protection from the cold and mist a woolen bkanket, a small fire and somekind of shade over their heads. I imagine the Shepherds would have adopted similar tactics against the cold while keeping watch over their flock.

Yes Jesus may not have been born in December but the day isn't important because it would have been mention in the scriptures and Fall seems plausible also, good hypothesis though. thanks for the information.

Jesus was born on Sunday, March 1, 7 BC. He was born in the latter reign of Herod the Great. Herod died in 4 BC. Jesus should have been born in September. He was given the 15th of September for his official birthday and to be in line for Messianic requirement.

Yeshua was born on the first day of the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall. History shows us that Caesar Augustus called for a census in the fall of 3 BC when Miriam and Joseph had to return to their place of birth in Bethlehem. This is when Mariam delivered the Messiah. Your spring birth holds no truth. Luke chapter 2 gives the account. There were also Shepards abiding in the fields for the Feast of Tabernacles in the fall.

yes Fall is also plausible, spring fits more with the Death of Herod and and astronomical phenomena or the so call Star of Bethlehem. whatever the date is it doesn't matter. what matter is that he came, died and is now at the right hand of the Father.

@kemargreen2043 The star of Bethlem came after Messiah was about 2 years old. This guided the caravan bringing the treasures Daniel set back for the Messiah just in time to fund Miriam and Joseph for their trek into Egypt because Herod was going to kill all babies 2 years or younger. This caravan were astrologers like Daniel who searched the heavens for the birth of Messiah and took almost 1 1/2 years to get to Bethlehem. They didn't arrive at the birth of Messiah as Christianity teaches. But God's timing was perfect so Miriam and Joseph had the funds to make the trip into Egypt and survive there until the death of Herod.

@kemargreen2043 The star of Bethlehem didn't appear when Messiah was born. It guided the caravan of astrologers bringing Daniel's treasures he set back for the Messiah. It took the caravan well over a year to arrive at Bethlehem.
This caravan didn't arrive in Bethlehem until Messiah was about 1 1/2 years old. God's timing was perfect to allow Miriam and Joseph to have enough funds to go into Egypt because Herod was killing babies 2 years old or younger. This happened in the spring. Messiah was born in the fall on the 1st day of the Feast of Tabernacles.

@kemargreen2043 The star of Bethlehem didn't arrive at the birth of Messiah in the fall at the Feast of Tabernacles. Daniel had laid aside his treasures for the Messiah's birth.
When the astrologers saw the sign in heaven of Messiah's birth, they gathered the treasures Daniel set back and formed a caravan to bring these things to Messiah who was already about a year old. They had to have armed guards and the caravan was large.
The caravan followed the star pointing the way to where Messiah was. They arrived in the spring of the year. Herod was planning on killing babies 2 years and under. An angel warned Joseph in a dream to take the Messiah and Miriam and go into Egypt.
God's timing is perfect. The caravan arrived just in time with Daniel's treasures to fund Miriam and Joseph's trip into Egypt.
They stayed in Egypt until after Herod's death.

@kemargreen2043 I texted you the truth of the star of Bethlehem 4 times and U tube wouldn't allow it to post. I don't know why as I said nothing hateful or anything that would violate U Tube's rules.
