How the Biblical Festivals Point to Christ

  • Do you know how the Biblical festivals point to Christ? Many think of the holidays celebrated in Judaism as being just for the Jews and not relevant to believers today. What those people don’t realize is the strong connection they have to our Messiah. The Bible has more to teach us using God’s holidays than may be realized by the average person in the Body of Christ.

I just started learning about Torah last spring. I was subscribed to a channel that taught that leaven represents sin, so we don't literally have to get rid of leaven products in our home, but to remediate our life, so I didn't clear it out, but then I felt convicted that I should have cleared it out.
~I bought lamb from Whole Foods for Passover...I think, but then later found out it had to slaughtered a specific way and it had to be a female lamb 1 year old, or maybe a male...?
~Then for Shavuot, he said that even if I had not registered, I could still drive out, so I drove 14 hours on a Saturday, and purchased gasoline several times, foxed a tire and had my oil checked. I only learned later that week that I should have waited until Sunday to drive out, because driving is work and we are not to purchase anything or cause others to work.
~Then I bought several things to build a booth on my patio and sleep outside for a week, but all the Jewish people on YT told me I have to be able to see the sky, so since my patio is covered, not to evwn bother.
So I have not celebrated any feast correctly, so I'm breaking Torah.

The Scriptures tell us the "when"... (Numbers 9:1-5 and Leviticus 23)
The FIRST appointed time of Yah is the weekly 7th Day Sabbath (Leviticus 23:1-3)
The Feasts of YeHoVaH are for ALL of His Believing People (Please refer to the following Scriptures:
      Leviticus 19:33 and 34, Numbers 15:15 through 16 and Verse 29, Leviticus 24:22
And the Apostles and Disciples kept the Passover and the Other Feasts: 1 Corinthians 5:7 and 8, Acts 18:21, Acts 20:1-5 and Verse 16, Acts 24:14, 1 Corinthians 16:7 and 8. These also confirm that modern Believers are also SUPPOSED to practice the Feasts of YeHoVah...
      The Spring Feasts:
      1. Passover (Pesach). , Leviticus 23:4 through 8, Deuteronomy 16-1 through 8, Exodus 12:48 and 49, Numbers 9:1 through 5 and 14, Numbers 28:16 through 25) specifies that the festival year begins with Passover on "the fourteenth day of the first month" (Aviv or Nisan 15). Passover is the Feast of Salvation. In both testaments, the Blood of the Lamb delivers from slavery - the Jew from Egypt, the Christian from sin. Think about the tenth plague in Exodus 12:5 when Egypt's first born sons died while the angel of death "passed over" the Hebrew homes with the blood of the lamb on their door posts. In the B'rit Chadashah, Yeshua serves as the sacrificial lamb. It is no coincidence that our Lord Himself was sacrificed on Passover. In Egypt the Hebrews and "others" who Believed in Yah, marked their houses with the blood of the lamb. Today the Believer marks his house - his body, "the house of the spirit" with the blood of Yeshua. Passover, then, represents our salvation.
      2. Unleavened Bread (Chag HaMotzi). Leviticus 23:6 puts the second feast on the next night: "On the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread unto Yah; seven days ye must eat unleavened bread." Leaven or yeast in the Bible symbolized sin and evil. Unleavened bread, eaten over a period of time, symbolized a holy walk, as with the Lord. Unleavened bread, in the B'rit Chadashah [New Testament] is, of course, the body of our Lord. He is described as "the Bread of Life" (Lechem haChayim). He was born in Bethlehem, which, in Hebrew, means, "House of Bread" Look at the matzah and see that it is striped: "By His stripes we are healed"; pierced: "They shall look upon me whom they've pierced," and pure, without any leaven, as His body was without any sin.
      3. First Fruits (Reshit Katzir). "On the morrow after the Sabbath" following Unleavened Bread, Leviticus 23:11 schedules First Fruits, the feast for acknowledging the fertility of the land He gave the Israelites. They were to bring the early crops of their spring planting and "wave the sheaf before the Lord." Today this feasts celebrates the resurrection of Yeshua on First Fruits, which indeed occurred.
      4. Pentecost (Shavu'ot). Leviticus 23:16 says, "Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shell ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the Lord." In late May or early June, Shavu'ot marked the summer harvest. Leviticus 23:17 requires an offering of two loaves of bread, baked with leaven.

      The Fall Feasts:
      5. Trumpets (Yom Teru'ah). In Leviticus 23:24 requires that, "in the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets."
      6. Atonement (Yom Kippur). Leviticus 23:27 provides a day of confession, the highest of holy days. "Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a Day of Atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord."
      7. Tabernacles (Sukkot). Leviticus 23:34 says, "The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord." God wanted to celebrate the fact that He provided shelter for the Israelites in the wilderness. Each year on Tabernacles, devout Jews build little shelters or "booths" (sukkot) outside their houses and worshipped in them. Tabernacles represents the Lord's shelter in the world to come (olam habah), His great Tabernacle to exist in Jerusalem during the Kingdom Age. The Lord will establish His Tabernacle in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 37:26), and the world will come every year to appear before the King and worship Him.
Getting on Yah's calendar is key... (It is key and a point of contention among MANY people who observe the Feasts)
YeHoVaH does not operate on the Gregorian calendar...
The "Year" starts when the "Barley is Aviv" (month of Aviv)...
Knowing this is the key to the correct day...
Please refer to Nehemia Gordon for guidance on this... (Nehemiah's Wall website)

The Law given through Moses in Old Testament Judaism.
Leviticus 23:1 The Lord spoke again to Moses, saying, 2 “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘The Lord’s appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations-My appointed times are these: 3 ‘For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a Sabbath to the Lord in all your dwellings. [Exodus 20:8-11]‘ “ (NASB)
Exodus 31:14 “Therefore you are to keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it must be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3], holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death [2 Corinthians 3:7].“ (NASB)
Exodus 35:1 Then Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and said to them, “These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to do: 2 “For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the Lord [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3]; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death [2 Corinthians 3:7].“ (NASB)
Numbers 15:32 Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness [Heb. midbar], they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3]. 33 And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation; 34 and they placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done to him. 35 Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must be put to death [Exodus 31:14-15; Exodus 35:1-2; Deuteronomy 27:26; Matthew 5:18]; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36 So all the congregation [Heb. edah] brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death [2 Corinthians 3:7] with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. (NASB)
2 Corinthians 3:7 But if the ministry of death, engraved in letters on stones, came with glory so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face [Exodus 34], fading as it was [Hebrews 8], 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit [Galatians 3] fail to be even more with glory? (NASB)
The one who has ears, let him hear.

I'm amazed that nobody else picked up on the fact that the Leviticus 23 festivals extremely closely match Pagan festivals that happened at the same exact time of the year.
Or how there is so much magic and witchcraft practices wrapped up in the festivals.
Did anyone ever consider that there are other appointed times mentioned in as well? In the book of ecclesiastics. Different times of the year to do different kinds of planting and harvesting of the crops.

The reason why the Lev. 23 festivals match up with the occasions of the pagan festivals is because Satan deliberately inspired it to happen that way. The pagan festivals are counterfeit holy days that were specifically designed to distract ppl away from God's holy convocations.

Good teaching, except First Fruits is NOT a moed. Also, where is the Eighth day of Sukkot, shemini atzeret, eighth of assembly? That day IS a moed.
Moed is always a no-work day, a miqra qodesh, a Holy Convocation.
There are two First Fruits, the second on Shavout, 50 days after the first.

In which place will be the one thousand years reign. Why is it limited to one thousand reign instead of everlasting reign ? Will everyone come to worship every year in one thousand reign period only. When will the everlasting time start? Yeshua said, I am going to my father to prepare a place for you. There are many rooms. I will return to take you with me; so that where I am, you may be also. As per this verse, is it one thousand reign or everlasting reign. Why Jesus Christ said so with all the disciples. And why one thousand years is said to One disciple after martyring or death of the all disciple. To be with Yeshua lord is important. We are not able to understand the times on earth. Then how can we understand heavenly things and times. Jesus said, in heaven, no one will be given in marriage. All will be like sons of God just like angels of God. If it is so, why again war after one thousand years. Why is killing again after that time. what is deception again when it is over by crushing the head of deception. Some teachings are confusing. Why don't people understand the teachings of Jesus Christ. Believe in Jesus Yeshua Messiah. Without permission of Jesus nothing will be done. Now and forever. Glory to God and Yeshua Messiah. Amen.

The festivals don't point to Christ. They point to God's plan of salvation. They show what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do in the future. It's tragic that even though there are ppl that observe the festivals, they STILL don't know what they're purpose is. The entire purpose God commanded that ppl celebrate these festivals is so they would be continually reminded that He hasn't spent all of human history trying to save everybody right now.

The feasts have ceased for now. They were instructed to be done once Israel "crossed over" and not beforehand. (Ex 12 & 13) Although Israel disobeyed, many today are disobeying as well. The rebuke for doing what was not to be done YET because they were not inside the land yet, is in Deut 12. No different than those who are disobeying in our day and age just like Israel.
Once in the land, feasts were celebrated. And once thrown out of the land, feasts/new moons (lunar calendar) ceased.(Hosea 9:1-5, Hosea 2:11) Israel did not keep feasts in Babylon, it was impossible just like it is today. Feasts had to be celebrated only one place and done only one way; Yah's way. He said that feasts were "for bringing offerings and sacrifices" (Lev 23:37) and not for the made up reasons groups have invented today. Ignoring Yah's words about when to celebrate feasts, where and how is as prevalent in our generation as it was in Israel. It's like Jeroboam who ignored the when/where too. Only Aaron's line of priests can establish a lunar calendar. (Num 10:8-10) This instruction was given to no other tribe. Yet that doesn't stop people today just like it didn't stop Jeroboam. And just like Jeroboam, the only place where feasts are to be kept, he ignored and groups today are also ignoring.
Sadly, people are as gullible and idolatrous as they ever were. We don't need anyone telling us what Yehovah says; we can read it ourselves. I've just given the references. Feasts are kept only at a very certain time established by the priesthood that is no longer in place. And those feasts are only to be done inside the land of Israel at the Temple that is no longer in place. And to keep any/all of the feasts, it is about bringing sacrifices/offerings to Yah and not appearing empty handed. If people would just stop following this ministry and that ministry and read the Word for themselves, this false teaching would not gain traction.
BTW, there is no such thing as a 1000 year reign. That word "chilioi" is plural and means a "thousandS." It is not a numeric block of time but a "plural of uncertain affinity." If you read what happens beforehand where Satan is bound, you can find that this took place at the cross. John 12:31. Christ is the first fruit resurrection and then martyrs were also resurrected. (Matt 27) Hebrews 11 explains that this is a "better" meaning FIRST in significance/time resurrection. Those martyrs are reigning with Christ now and will continue to add to their number as others are martyred, especially during the tribulation. (Rev 6 & 7) At least 2000 (thousandS) years after the cross when Satan was bound, he will be loosed in what is called great tribulation. At the end, our Savior returns and Satan is destroyed. There is no pause for 1000 more years. Judgement happens immediately upon His return; He separates the sheep from the goats.(Matt 25) No second chance on a very destroyed Earth that is quite uninhabitable from the bowls poured out.
Judgment, just like Day of Atonement follows immediately after Day of Trumpets, will not be delayed for 1000 more years. This is all false teaching that no prophet ever taught anyone. Yeshua Himself gave us the outline of events in Matt 13. "First collect the weeds....then gather the wheat." This is the harvest and the harvest "is at the END of the age." It's game over when He returns and a new heaven/earth come down. Remember "He must remain in heaven until the time for restoring all things." So Yeshua does not return until it is time for a new heaven/earth/new creatures/new creation which He does according to the outline given in Matt 13. No such thing as His return, waiting 1000 years and living on an earth that is full of death/decay/destruction, then Satan has another shot at us and His return again with a new heaven and new earth.. That's all malarky! We tabernacle with our King right after judgment and everything is restored/brand new. This is the eternal Sabbath or 8th day when flesh is gone and spirit is eternal.

The thing that makes your argument entirely false is that if you read through Lev. 23, you can consistently see God say that the festivals were supposed to be observed FOREVER. "Forever" doesn't mean "there is a period where you won't have to observe them". Passover and ULB were given and observed while Israel was STILL in Egypt, so you're not really telling the truth.

    • @bmjjjja
      @bmjjjja 2 месяца назад

@rnalsbeliever1779 And I assume, since you've studied that word "olam" that you have looked at the other verses where it is used, right? The Levitical priesthood, for instance, is "olam." Where is it today? Is it operating? If your understanding of "olam" is accurate and it means feasts are to be kept, then the Levitical priesthood is still to be operating, right?
As well, find one single instruction from Yah that He commands to be done at any of the feasts and that you are obeying, and copy/paste it here. By all means, let us all see what Yah says to do and what you claim you are doing according to what Yah says.
Btw, Passover is not the feast. Unleavened Bread is the feast and it was to begin once "they crossed over." (Ex 12, 13). Passover was done in Egypt and done again a year later at the base of Sinai. They met with Yah both times. But....for the next 40 years of wondering, they did not celebrate Passover either, let alone the ULB. This is clear in Joshua 5.

A "ministry" that has done the exact same thing as Jeroboam, deciding a different place to keep feasts, a different way to do them and different tribe to determine when to do them should not be doing what they are doing nor should people be following along. We can all read Torah and we can read what happened to Jeroboam and the people who followed him for this grievous sin. "Do not rebuke a mocker or he will hate you. Rebuke a wise man and he will love you." How's that for tone? Maybe we should check you for wisdom?
"But those elders who are sinning you are to reprove before everyone, so that the others may take warning."
