Jesus born in a manger to show the ultimate humility. The shepherds were the first earthlings told of His birth by the angels, as shepherds were regarded as people of low regard. It amazes me that the King of kings was born in a place that most likely had animals and all the smells that come with it. I will forever praise Jesus.
Born in a place of birthing sacrificing lambs. Bethlehem was known for raising these unblemished lambs. The pregnant lambs were brought in a special place. Look at Micah 4:8.
Micah 4:8
"And you, O tower of the flock, the strong hold of the daughter of Zion, unto you shall it come, even the first dominion; the kingdom shall come to the daughter of Jerusalem."
These lambs were also swaddled. You cannot look at the manger and not see the cross behind it. Came to Serve... Prophet, High Priest, and King. How much did God love us. He put on flesh for the rest of eternity. We will worship the Son of Man, the Lamb of God, and the Lion of Judah. Praise God!!

This is absolutely fascinating. I did not know many of these things and it makes me feel a humble awe at how profoundly low our very God and Redeemer made Himself to be. It is absolutely impossible to comprehend His great love and compassion for each of us. I love the symbolism of the Living Water, freshly descended from the Father, begin laid in a vessel designed to hold water for the animals. Even His love for all of His creatures of the Earth is expressed in this.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, there are so many symbols that can be found in his birth. It seems that no part of his life was not connected to prophecy and beautiful symbolism to help teach us of who he is.

Tower of the Flock at Megdal Edar. Is where Rachael had Benjamin and then died. The woman and temple shepards had birthing towers. They were very clean for birthing. Due to blood that comes with birthing, it was outside the city of Bethlehem.

How do we know what the land looked like? It was over 2000 years ago what we see today is totally different. I believe what the holy Bible says only.

I don’t know why it would be a stretch to see the location has lots of cave formations. That part of the land is unlikely to change that much over 2000 years. If you rely only on the Bible snd you haven’t found the answer to your question, I don’t think that is going to change

Well, even if the manger was to hold grain for a traveling donkey, Christ was also the bread of life. I love nativity sets, as they convey to children the beautiful story, in one glance. God sent his Son to save the world in a humble stable, where smelly shepherds could just walk right in, yet wealthy kings could travel to find Him, following a star, and find the light of the world, changing deaths doom of centuries to a beautiful destiny, which money can’t buy. Jesus Christ said, go tell John that the poor have the Gospel preached to them. So, right off the bat, the Gospel was sent from the poor to the rich, that all might be saved, those rich, poor, near, and far. A nativity set says all that. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
Why do you ask the Lord to come quickly when he is supposed to live within you. His kingdom is Now, not in the future he rules from on high NOW...
