Thanks. I very much appreciated this video. I'm a fellow artist and don't like using 2 part resins for a few reasons. But this gives me some hope of finding a way that may work better for me. Blessings!

Thank you, Yvonne, this is exactly what I was looking for, this morning. I really enjoy the way you explain things so clearly. Today you did the same. I have both kind of resin, and often use the UV with nail polish painted pendants. I am having a heck of a time figuring out how long the molds need to stay in, but your layering approach makes so much sense, I'm going to give that a try.

Ty ty ty I've been watching you practically since you started I am just not accustomed to leaving comments all the time but I had to stop and say thank you especially for your Electro forming videos and I found yours after I found Jason Welch videos. So now I'm doing that too. Thank you for all these awesome lessons. :-)

I just did a VERY small test of this UV resin... just three cabs poured in a silicone mold. To be fair, I've never worked with resin before, but there was no mixing (obviously) and I left them under the UV lamp for 2 timings of 2 minutes each since one of them felt a bit tacky after 2 minutes. It looked like they were going to be okay as far as hardness went, but they were still a bit tacky so I used alcohol on them and they turned cloudy. Can't tell whether it was all throughout or just top or just bottom, but, I tried a couple of different "fixes" just to see if I could figure it out and NOPE! ... I'm off to try the Ice Resin as I have a couple of project pieces that I don't want to put ANY resin on until I know what the hell I'm doin'! You make things look easy! LOL

You are supposed to wipe with make up cotton pad and rubbing alcohol to get rid of the tacky layer. Ali Express has uv reasonablely priced

Love your creations! This is the resin I use (the only one I've tried so I don't have anything else to compare it to lol) but I really like it! As a beginner with resin I find it pretty easy to work with. I do use some mica pigments in it sometimes and I find it cures great as long as you don't overdo it or use too thick of a layer but for my projects it works really well! And if I want to color it without the shimmer of the mica pigments, I've been experimenting with using gel food coloring and it seems to work really well as long as you don't use too much. I made some pretty cool dragon wing earrings with polymer clay and this resin the other day, I'll tag you on my insta post so you can check em out if you want :) Thanks for all your awesome vids, you inspire me to keep creating! :)

Hi! I loved the tutorial. I’m starting to work with resin making pendants with an item inside and did the layers, as suggested, then hardened with my UV lamp. I added the item then a layer on top, however, the layer with the item hardened with a bubble under it! How can I ensure this doesn’t happen again? I tried sliding the item in rather than plonking it in but the same happened again! Do I just leave it for a bit before putting it under the UV light? Many thanks for your help!

  • @Love.Yourself.1976

Do those metal pendants tarnish, or effect the skin? You could do a layer of resin on the back first, to completely protect skin from the metal, then fill in the front. An extra step, but it protects the skin more. It's my method.

I thought the lamp I purchased would stay on for as long as I wanted it too. But I was pressing the 60 sec button a few times consecutively for each layer. Good Grief Charlie Brown Rosetta! But I heard you say 1 1/2 minute curing time? I was trying to also check out ur lamp but the link is broken. What must I do? TIA❤
