Thanks for watching! I love the Mojave. So much to see and explore there. If you haven't already, check out my latest fishing video over on my second channel: ruclips.net/video/YyI3xG8KS6g/видео.html -Tristan
As always, an interesting and entertaining video. I grew up in Eastern Oregon. Climbing sand dunes was half the fun. Rolling down the hill or burying my face in the sand while trying to run down the dune was the other half.
I knew you could do it, Cassie!! I liked the trick with the shoes on your hands and stocking feet. Much more effective than fingers in the sand. My second favorite part of the video was the swiss cheese rock formation. Very cool! Thank you for the ride along!
My favorite part was when I wanted to yell “Go Cassie Go” as she was climbing the sand dunes! Did you do all of this on one day? Another amaaaaazing adventure!
I was actually born on Edwards Air Force Base. I dont know how close but I do know i was in the Mojave Desert.. Thanks for sharing your adventures and taking me to places I will probably never get to see. By the way,in a small nearly non existent town in Ky near where I live is a Jail Cell like the one you showed. It used to be in a building but they tore down the building but left the cell just sitting there.
Hey there Tristan and Cassie....The Wife and I have also been to Mohave Desert...The Kelso terminal was open when we were there...There's lots of real old stuff in there...beautiful building though...thx for the memories...Had to pass on climbing the dunes as it was very hot that day....And Cassie is very photogenic...notice that lots of people post comments on her...she should develop her on camera skills over time...anyway all the best to you two....Hank and Pam from South Texas
You're definitely making the most out of a trip to the parents. Seeing the struggle up the dune was good fun! The RAV4 seems quite capable for most of your trips. Would you get something similar for your next vehicle?
How are you for driving on sand? My son got me interested in the missing Death Valley Germans. Apparently the father/driver had the idea from rear wheeled vehicles that in sandy conditions you're just supposed to floor it. Supposedly you have a better chance of 'floating' or skimming over the sand. (I don't think I ever heard this before, and I used to spend half the year sliding around on roads in Michigan.) With front wheel drive vehicles it's slow and steady. What I'm learning from off-roader videos is low gear, locked rear axle (so both rear wheels turn at the same speed) and if conditions are really soft always start off very slow. To stop: don't use the brakes, you just coast to a stop (unless of course you're about to hit something). Then you don't dig yourself in. I'm just wondering how your Subaru handles it and what you do. I've seen some videos of Subarus getting stuck in snow, which is a bit of a surprise. 40 years ago the Subaru I drove in Montreal never seemed to have any problem in snow.
WillN2Go1 I can’t imagine getting stuck in snow in a Subaru. I’ve had two. I live in VT and always was able to get to work in winter even if the snow was deeper than my front bumper and my plow guy hadn’t come yet. I live on a hill and even was able to get home when it hadn’t been plowed.
But did you beat the other hikers to the top?! These are the details we need! I admit, I was thinking if was with you, we would have gone to explore that JT style outcropping.
Turns out the other hikers weren't actually going up the same dune we were! So... yes, we beat them. And yes, I would have liked to explore those rock outcroppings. They looked pretty cool.
I think that dune should count as one of Cassie's mountain peak climbs. Nice video. I don't know man. Ever since that Nutty Putty Cave incident, I'm not that interested in caving.

Favorite part was Cassie's reaction to reaching the dune summit! Beautiful smile.
I liked that part too. Thanks for watching, Don.
My favorite was the look she gave him because she doesn't like being on camera lol. I know that look👀, she is so cute
Who needs a stair stepper when you have a sand dune? Well done Cassie.
My favorite part was watching Cassie muscle her way up the sandune. Way to go Cassie !
Ty 4 sharing.
Wolf🐺 👍
She did a great job! Thanks for watching.
Whew, well done Cassie.

The scenery is beautiful and epic Cassy brings the beautiful factor to the Vlog.
My favorite part was watching your wife smile at the top of the dunes! That's why we do it. (Hike) :) the pay check after ya put in hard work. 💪😎
I agree! Thanks for watching.
Cassie is the sand dune jedi-master climber. We love watching your SUV adventures. Merry Christmas. The caves looked cool.
Thanks Dave!
My favorite part? Cassie of course! Another great video 😎
That's quite an incline Cassey! My new hero and favorite adventurer. Thanks for the video, which was wonderful as usual.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
Man! She "mined over mattered" that hill! Impressive!
I agree!
yay! good job, Cassie, on the awesome climb up the dune....good job, you!
Thank you both for such a delightful video!

She did great! Thanks for watching, Juadonna.
Reminds one of 'All day I search the barren waste in search of the taste of water': Sons of the Pioneers.

I'm not going to argue with that!
9:40 - now that's love! 💕😁
Awesome and amazing together......love it and thanks for sharing.....I'm late checking in....
Thanks for watching, Betty!
My favorite part was when I wanted to yell “Go Cassie Go” as she was climbing the sand dunes! Did you do all of this on one day? Another amaaaaazing adventure!
Yep, it was all in one day. Good day 😁 Thanks for watching.
Great views on that hike, keep them coming.
Will do. Thanks Rick!
Favorite part the Dunes and the scenery. 👍
I enjoyed the trail with the climbing rings. That looked like a lot of fun! TFS
Ha! Great dune climbing--I can feel all that sand in my shoes...
I think Cassie is still finding sand in her shoes...
The Rings trail was really cool 👍🌞

Beautiful area! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Oh my gosh, she’s awesome
Cassie seems like a sweet person.
Yep, she definitely is
I've camped there before. Lots of free camping in the area.

ROFLMAO. That was *so* funny! 😁 She made it, though! 👍
Yes she did! Lol thanks for watching.
You're definitely making the most out of a trip to the parents. Seeing the struggle up the dune was good fun! The RAV4 seems quite capable for most of your trips. Would you get something similar for your next vehicle?
Given unlimited funds, I'd probably get a 4Runner. But I do really like the RAV4. It's been a great vehicle.
Next time you climb a sand dune bring a snow board...for the trip back down.
If you ever travel to Australia, check out the Undara lava tubes in Queensland.
Will do. Thanks!
Any other thoughts... Nope. Ha, funny! Totally expected that but still laughed.
Great hike in the Joshua tree area, not so much the lava tubes...they look like any other cave.
There are lava tube caves that are much longer and more interesting than that one. Thanks for watching, Glenn!
Those Sand Dunes were brutal! I’m with.Cassie on that! I didn’t like the Lava Tube Caves!!❤️😀🇺🇸🌏🚙
5:40 My wife is the same way! I was thinking of doing videos like this with her and she said, "Sure. As long as I don't have to say anything :)"
I was the same way too. It gets a lot easier as you do it more. Thanks for watching.
You have to go up a sand dune on the wind side where the sand is hard.
Aaaaahh, that wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Lol
Lol yep! Thanks for watching
My dog is afraid to use stairs in my house. Somehow, those people in the cave got theirs to go down a ladder haha
Lol they must have carried her down. Thanks for watching.
That was fun. Have you been to Pinnacles NP? -- charlie, sacramento
I love your videos ... I have subscribed... Do you have coordinates for your first campsite?

I have a RAV4, not a Subaru. It has 4WD. I've never had a problem with sand, but then again, I don't go driving headlong into it either 😁

Maybe with time, Cassie will gradually become more comfortable being filmed...
👍

Fun
Yep it was!
8:38 Looks like the effect of climbing a down-moving escalator. Did you guys beat those other folks?
Turned out they weren't even going to the top of the same dune as us. So... Yes 😂
@@SUVRVing YAY! Winners! :D
I think that dune should count as one of Cassie's mountain peak climbs.
Nice video.
I don't know man. Ever since that Nutty Putty Cave incident, I'm not that interested in caving.
I agree. It's a mountain of sand. I'm fine with caves as long as they're not the super skinny kind where you have to squeeze through places.
Loved the video. How the hell did they get that dog down in the lava tube cave?
Great question! Lol no idea.
👍👍
Some duneboarding next time?
That cave would have been cool if an animal jumped out at you. Favorite part was the swiss cheese mountains.
Cool to watch maybe, but terrifying in person at the time!
I would have said screw that sand mountain to hard
She could have said It was nice since she said Nope.. 😆
🉐👍👍👍👍👍✅
🎉👍👍🎉
You forgot to mention Chinese food lol .
?
I don’t like to be on camera either.
To be honest, neither do I!
Good she talks
