You are amazing. Thanks so much for the video. Both of my daughters brake lights were out on her Yukon Denali and I was able to fix both in less than about an hour. Wonderful. Saved $2000

Thank You! I am glad the video provided you with value. I stopped uploading videos because I believed my videos didn’t provide any value. I will start uploading again.

Completed this repair over the weekend. One thing I would recommend is using a 60w soldering iron. I originally bought a kit with a 30w from Walmart and was having no luck getting the solder to stay on my copper. Went and got a 60w and finished both lights in a matter of minutes.

Nice! I think the one I have goes up to 450 degrees. I didn't want to damage anything. I am interested in getting a wireless one.

This is a very common problem. GM should have issued an extended warranty on these lights.

I’m sorry you feel that way! It’s only for a second or two. The video wasn’t recorded with a Go-Pro which would have made it easier to place the camera directly in front of me for a better viewing angle. Besides the viewing angle, was the video informative? Was the information provided useful? What can I do to make it better?

@@oscardoesit2129 the commenter above isn’t critiquing the viewing angle. From 1:53 to 2:23 the work area is omitted from the shot. You actually had it perfectly in view at 2:20 and then proceed to move it outside of the shot. How did you determine the location of the broken clip before cutting into the plastic housing? How to make the video better? Show the work area close up at all times, be more aware of where the boundaries for your shot are and maintain the subject matter within it. was it informative? Sure for me, that will slow down a video and go to the lengths of finding the information I need regardless of how poor or great that information is. For a regular viewer your going to need to be a bit more obvious with what your showing. I’m able to discern where you cut into the housing because I looked for it carefully and I’m looking at the part infront of me while looking at your video. I’d like to know if this spot is the magical spot this led board fails at or if I’m going to need to do some more research before I jump into this. Looks like a piece of cake.

@@ZappBrandigan thank you for your insight. It’s hard to angle the camera when working. I don’t want it so close as to knock it over if I accidentally bump it. I will be more observant of where the camera is located and if I’m blocking the view. As for the locations yes those are common areas where they break. I’m surprised GM hasn’t issued a recall or issued a warranty extension on them. I did the left side already and they both broke in the same areas. They have two breaking points on the top and bottom both are about 1/4 of the way up/down from the seams.
