Well if you own a GMC Yukon or GMC Sierra chances are you are going to experience a taillight failure. This is a common issue where the board actually cracks and causes the LED taillight to quit working. The taillight not working is an issue on 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 GMC Yukon and Sierra. While a dealer will tell you the only to fix is just replace, That is the most expensive option. Luckily a few other options exist. I chose to remove the light and ship to circuit board medics. This cost around $140 and generally is a quick turn around. If the taillights in your gmc yukon denail or gmc sierra are not working I think this is the best and cheapest way to replace them. Since I had them out I also decide to upgrade the reverse lights to LED. I also replaced the license plate lights with LED bulbs as well. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

Had a similar problem with my Tahoe and ended up getting the Escalade tail lights from most plus. Makes it look pretty sweet.

Great video and listing parts was super for my 2017 Yukon XL. Even a novice could be a repair pro after this video. Also, found (possibly too late; we'll see) a notice in 2020 about a replacement but no need to then as everything was working. Hope to get my money back on a reimbursement from GMC or dealer.

Wife and I are planning on adding to our family, if so we're goin to need and SUV with two dogs and a 3yo plus the new addition. She wants a Yukon or Tahoe, good thing to look out for. I was a tech for Chevy for a number of years. And this is the first time I'm really hearing about this issue. I think I replaced one set if my memory is correct. But it was still under warranty and the SW was able to get the tail lights covered. I'm surprised there has been no lawsuit for the early AFM/DOD Lifter Failures. Before someone thought it was a good idea to take out my 09 Avalanche by running into the back of it while it was parked on the street. I was planning on doing a Cam with AFM delete kit for that very reason.
Yeah it sucks to have to replace bad parts due to manufacturers issues. Good luck on your search for one. Pretty sure we will always keep one around.

Good video Travis. I put the Lasfit license plate lights on my blue Silverado. They are so bright that they kind of wash out my back up camera at night. Let me know if yours does the same thing.

At night and at a distance, I can always identify a GMC product by the fact that there’s a DRL or marker light out somewhere on the vehicle.

Both are burned out at same time...yet trailer plug brakes work and third center still works...where is the fuse location and is it common for both sides

@@TWAMotorsports on my 2016 it did it.. i had to replace the harness from light to body harness and buy aftermarket lights .. all factory lights burn out... the copper circuit board is trash .. To then they melt apart
