    I have to say I'm so happy i found your videos. I've been wondering about this upgrade to my 15 Denali. I did the fog and most other lights over years ago but never touched the HIDs until i saw how easy this was. Thank you so much for posting this and making is so damn easy to see. Funny, my drivers side had less slack than the passenger. I gave it a little hank and got at least 2-3 inches of slack...just enough to make the swap easier. I found the plastic rings on the original HIDs to be harder to turn. Anyway, huge thank you for these videos. Love the new look and output.

    I changed my ats from HID to LED about a year ago. I did my research and found that Lastfit brand had the best reviews. Auxbeam also makes a decent LED Headlight bulb. I run auxbeam in my wife's 2020 sonic rs

    • @TWAMotorsports

      They do make them for this but required additional wiring

    • @jaebang1128
      @jaebang1128 2 года назад +1

      Lasfit are great, but they don't make a version that's plug and play, don't like the idea of cutting wires to install lights when you can now get them without having to do so

  • @ElectricBlueIX

    I also went with Diode Dynamics HID's when I thought the original set was getting dim. I was sorely disappointed with the results. I have Lasfit LED fog bulbs and they BLOW AWAY my HID headlight bulb. It's almost pathetic how dim my HID's are. I feel like there must be something wrong with the HID ballast for them to be as dim as they are.
    But I'll be ordering the Lasfit LED headlight conversion for our 17 Denali. Ours is also Emerald. Beautiful color.

    Hey man @TWAMotorsports , I've been scouring RUclips trying to find the instructions on how to switch out the white locking mechanism on the bulb? Nobody shows that process and I don't want to mess it up. Is it as simple as unscrewing the 2 tiny screws on the circular metal base between the led and the fan? Thanks in advance!

  • @lsmith3907
    @lsmith3907 11 месяцев назад

    The issue is the stock projector housing for the HIDs - they suck no matter what you put in them. First I tried new HID bulbs, and then LED 3DS bulbs made to fit the HID connection. Neither are as bright as the LEDs in my fogs or high beams. The LEDs are slightly better, and don't have to warm up which gives them the edge IMO. It is also important to rotate them to avoid the lower center dark spot from the LED bulb blade; I adjusted them a few times until I got it right. Aftermarket H11 LEDs in stock halogen housings have a much better improvement...

The symptom seems to go away when under load, it's got 150,000 miles 6.2 . I haven't serviced the tranny. With my luck, these used car lot probably already have. Any idea what it could be? Any suggestions would be appreciated . Thanks Travis and keep those videos coming.

    With projector headlights, you need a 360 degree LED bulb. I ordered a set of Light Moses 360 LED bulbs from Amazon. The beam doesn't look quite normal with the blade style LEDs as shown in this video. The reason LED bulbs fail so much on these Chevys is probably because of the enclosed space you have to install the bulbs. Doesn't allow for normal cooling.

    I reiterate man, just get a headlight retrofit. Since you just install these a month ago...start buying your pieces now and you can either put them together or a shop (Lightwerkz, Black Flame Customs, Ignited Retrofits, so many others) can. Buy a decent set of projectors (possibly with a threaded shaft for easy install and aiming), buy led or hid bulb kit (35 watts is all you need...think output as Bruce Lee punching you vs. your bulbs are street fighting), install, put headlight back together (don't feel comfortable? Have it done), and enjoy true road lighting without fail.
