I love your videos. they're great for new riders or someone new to the Ryker specifically. take a lot of the learning pains out of the equation. it's always best to learn from others' experience(s).
I've learned the Rykers have oddly shaped gas tanks which is why they measure gas so inaccurately -- but I never would have guessed its a splash hazard when fueling. Thanks for the PRO-Tips
Ms. Dingo, your videos are very informative. I appreciate your calm and precise voice. I own a 2021 900 Rally bought new, with 7000+ miles. I am in the habit of stopping every hour and top off. This gives me a chance to stretch and review my planned route, get a snack, etc. Thank you. I have subscribed.
Excellent information, especially for new owners/riders. I even leanred something new. How to compute the number of gallons needed to fill up the tank. Good job.
Good points. I don’t trust my fuel gauge after 2 lines beyond half. It empties faster. I always fuel up and reset my trip at 175 miles (35 mpg). The most I’ve pushed it is 182 miles (2-3 times now). Always in ECO mode. 2022 900 Sport
That does not sound right 🧐 Are you sure your tank was full? Reason I ask is because the station where I usually get gas has very sensitive sensors. It usually clicks to indicate full when it’s not actually full. I suspect the pump passes more gas than the rate that gas will pass down to the rest of the tank, so gas piles up around the pump and sets off the sensor. Sometimes going really lightly on the pump handle makes it not trigger the sensor. You do run the risk of gas coming out of the overfill hose when the tank is full though. Just a thought 🤷🏻♀️
Urban Dingo I've had a couple overflow on my ryker 900 at first I didn't know what the tube was for until I saw gas coming out of it. When I do fill up I've noticed recently that sometimes that I have one bar missing from full tank after the pump shutdown but I don't do any more filling because of the overflow also noticed when you have 5 bars left they tend to go down very quick only had my gas light come on 3 times, 30-32mpg what I get in eco mode, you have some great suggestions Ride Safe .
There must be something about the tank that contributes to sensitivity in the pump handle 🧐 Your tank cannot be full if you still have one bar missing. It’s hard to know if you should keep pumping after the pump stops. I hate having overflow too 😂 Glad to share tips that help. I have learned plenty from others’ tips 😁
@@urbandingo6882 I would assume. Can am has made small adjustments almost every year. The 2023 is updated from the 2022 from everything I’ve seen. Good video. I watched many different videos before I bought mine. I think they’re helpful.
Hi @richardlee4438, no don’t use the little filter if you’re gassing from the pump. I believe that is s for when you are gassing from a storage container. The trick for me is to pump as slow as possible so that the gas has time to trickle down to the rest of the tank. You will get used to it 😆
Yeah, many people say premium for better performance and milage. I am happy enough with my Ryker’s performance using regular, and I get about 34 miles per gallon, which is acceptable to me, so I continue to use regular 🤑
It’s not how hard you pump, you simply overfilled your tank. Full pressure on pump and click lock the handle and leave it alone, taking your hand off the handle. When the pump lock feature clicks, don’t keep pumping. You are done. Just remove the fuel handle. I have never had an overflow by always leaving the pump to do the work.
@@urbandingo6882 it doesn’t click after 1 gallon, come on now, you know how to use a gas pump??? it clicks when it is almost like 90% full or you can just rely on the overflow valve tube to spill out. This is not rocket science 😉

Thanks so much James 😊 Ride safe 🏍️💨💨

No problem. If you accidentally splash, wipe away any spills on plastic right away, because it will discolor the plastic 😢
Good call. I’ve had my Ryker just under 1 week and filled up x2 and on the first time I made a bit of a mess…will now zero trip odometer!
You will get used to it 😄 Ride safe 🏍️💨💨

Thank you Mr. Gonzalez ❣️I also stop every hour or so to stretch. It makes for a much more pleasant trip 😃

Sounds like ECO mode does give better mileage. Great to know. Thanks for sharing 😀

@Terry Vincent yes, thanks for catching that 🤣 Mistake corrected 😅
Wait I’m only getting 16mpg in the city on eco mode how is this possible!?! 😓

THANK YOU.
This was MOST HELPFUL.
Very Much APPRECIATED.
You’re welcome 🥰
This helped a lot, thank you.
My first fill up was a mess. It overfilled way faster than I would have expected. Slow as the pump will run is my speed
There’s probably something inside the fuel tank that prevents gas from going in quickly, to make it overfill so quickly 😳

If never had any issues fueling. I can put the auto lock on the pump and it will stop without overflow. Gotta 2022 900.
I wonder if Can-Am did something to make it easier in newer models 🤔 I have a 2019 Rally 🤷🏻♀️

I always remember this video when fueling lol
Haha 🥴
are u supoosed to use the tube in the air fileter section to gas up?
