i think most people who like glee would also say that they kinda hate it. its a mess and a lot of it definitely hasnt aged well but it was also ahead of its time in a lot of ways imo. the gay representation only gets more with every season and they also had one of the first trans characters i think. its definitely a fun watch especially the episodes where schuester doesnt talk and kurt, santana and mercedes get more screentime. knowing how similar lea michele is to rachel also makes this a lot funnier. they really just made her play herself
The pilot episode is fantastic. Some of it hasn't aged well, but that is later on. I may start watching this along with you. I watched some of it in elementary school but I haven't watched much of it since I got older. I love your videos

Maybe it's the fact that I didn't grow up in the US, or have ever been, really, or maybe it's something else, idk, but I don't understand it when people say the show hasn't aged well. The show's full of irony and satire. It's purposefully over the top and purposefully ridiculous, and it's excellent at that. It has incredibly dark humor at times, and it's just the kinda humor that some people find offensive but I find hilarious 😂 I think I find it funny because it's clear the writers put stuff in that's so wrong, knowing it's wrong, and precisely because of how wrong it is. It's a TV show, it's not real life. They're all actors, it's all scripted, they all got paid, and everyone went home happy. You're allowed to laugh at it. That's what it was made for.
As someone who has had electro-convulsive therapy, it doesn't stop teenagers from being assholes. It can help with depressions, or it just fucks up your memory.
I can recognize Glee as a lot of things but during that era it's one of the only things shows who aren't afraid to represent people of different background specially LGBTQIA. It's cheesey but It's one of the reason I found confidence in being who I am as a gay teenager at that time.

For how messy Glee was nothing has really come close to how fun and lowkey edgy it was. The writers really didnt give a damn about offending anyone and used Sue to drag every group from A-Z. I mean she even won a golden globe for her role.
