I'm so grateful for the GOP reaction after this and how fast Trump launched his new merch line My dad was going to vote for him and I'd been trying to decult him but it hadn't been working. This was the wakeup call for him. Trump trying to profit off it has backfired, at least my dad won't be voting for any republicans because of all this. He now believes it was a setup by the right but I can't win all the battles....
I think the vagueness of "political violence" simply comes from the vagueness of what is "political". Politics is about making choices that impact groups of people. To define something as "apolitical" is to say that it's uncontroversial, obvious, unavoidable, universally agreed upon, et cetera... but almost everything is controversial, et cetera. So, that definition is a way to silence and dismiss dissent. Drawing a line between "political" and "apolitical" is itself a political act. So, the boundary of "What is political?" depends on context and who you ask.
The only thing about this that was surprising, was the reaction of a lot of the progressive journalists & RUclipsrs. They've been covering American gun violence for many years, and yet were somehow surprised that someone would take a shot at Trump. From outside the US, nobody is surprised at what happened. I don't agree with political violence, but this seems to be a feature of the US political landscape. Excellent video, Lux.

Biden's response to the event was pathetic. Why does he have so much more empathy for Trump than he does for all the Gazans he's helping Israel brutalize?
Yeah Demolition Ranch is a conservative gun channel but the host doesn't seem like a Trumpster. I'd hope he tries to clear up all the accusations of a supposedly "radical left" shūter.
