For those of us who grew up and watched MTV when they played nothing but Music videos, we were so lucky to have lived and loved in such a great time. Apr 18
Another song of the 80s that always gave me chills.....still does. Never understood why this band was so underrated when they can move a person so much with their music and strong vocals. . God I miss the 80s. Thank you
Much of huge fame is just a lot things coming together and some luck as well. Being an incredible band is't enough. Sad but true. This whole album is brilliant. Plus grunge ( crap ) came along and stole the market.
I first watched this video with the women I fell in love with. I was serving in the U. S. Army and I received orders to go to Korea. When I returned, I married her and almost twenty five years later things could not be better. I love you Karen.
One of the most amazing heartbreaking songs EVER. I loved this song when I was just a teenager in the 80's. But now it has so much more of a deeper meaning for me. The one love that you truly never get over.
This was one of those songs that I had taped off of the radio. I had never heard of Giant, never really listened to rock at my young age. But this song stuck with me and it still hits me every time I hear it.
I wish I could go back to these years! I worked for Giant’s record company, A&M. They’d come in, we hung out on the lot. Alan gave me a big hug. Got to see them at the 2nd Mark & Brian Christmas show. Some of the best 80’s Rock years of my life. It kills me they started at the end of rock and the beginning of grunge . Their talent was insane and at 60, I still crank their music loud! In fact, many amazing rock bands we had never took hold. It still to this day hurts that it all ended so soon. Grunge was not worth it!
JAMILA ANDERSSON My lovely Jamila Andersson, how are you feeling today? I hope you are doing great! I always want the very best in everything for you! Ok,let's see if I can find you again! I am going to ALIAS:More Than Words Can Say. I sure hope you can meet me there! I'll see you in my dreams!

@@iggyk23 Same as me friend. I actually did a photography shoot themed by this song, and doing so had me close to tears. But the end result was worth it.
I'm so grateful I was there working at A&M in LA when they walked in for meetings for their debut. I got to experience what was to become one of my all-time favorite Rock bands of ALL time now, but didn't know it then. Mingled with them during those days, went back stage when they preformed at I believe was the 2nd Annual Mark and Brian Christmas Show. Sure wish I spent more time seeing them play.... I regret it SO much now! They deserved to be around ALOT longer than they were. Too bad so much talent had to take a step back to 90's grunge!
So much talent and musical prowess. These guys are what I call monster musicians. This song is so bad ass. The vocals and THE GUITAR!!! Talk about an EXPLOSIVE Guitar Virtuoso ... Amazing 🤘🤘🤘
Yep and stay....it was the greatest...no violence..no cell phones..no internet... just the neighborhood hanging out with the girls swimming and biking everywhere...no worries in the world like these days
I only recently discovered this song after listening to an old Top 40 countdown from 1990. This song is amazingly written and produced. It deserved a much higher chart placement and it needs to be mentioned more in the greatest one hit wonders of the 90's
Yes , It wasn’t because I was 20 in 80 and a musician, plus being young. I saw Music change in this era. The 80s! My god an explosion of well written songs, singers , many different avenues of music from all over the world. It was.a glorious time to be a musician too. Music drove that era and even the older generation loved it. Giant came late in the 80s and the music industry always pushes change every ten years. So the poor guys saw their careers end in 93. The 80s actually lasted until 93. Then all the great music like this and heart felt, upbeat music ended. God I miss it! The Berlin Wall came down too because the young people wanted what we had here in the USA. Freedoms.
@@johnfreel6004 Nice summary of the times! Yes, the Berlin Wall. I remember learning about young people who died trying to get to West Berlin, through tunnels, or simply running and hoping not to get shot. The night it came down, some friends and I watched it on tv. Then the tv station showed the James Bond film "From Russia with Love." Suddenly, this once-trendy film seemed vintage:)
This has to be one of the saddest, most heart-breaking songs I've ever heard. As a kid (I was 10 or 11 when it came out), I thought it was cheesy, but as I grew up, I realized how much I loved it. Still do, to this day.
This was one of my favorite songs in the 90s. I'd listen to it over and over. One day I went on my keyboard and played it by ear. Only the second song I've been tried besides home sweet home. It stuck with me all my life and can no longer play due to illness affecting my hands. These Memories Won't Fade Because its written forever here ❤️ and in my dreams
I fell in love with this song when I was little. The music, emotions and actors really gave this song justice to what's being expressed through poetry. I had a hell of a time trying to replace the cd's as a child & teen. I wore out all 4 of them repeatedly and that was so frustrating! When I toured with my own band, I was fortunate enough to find those copies in Texas, Oklahoma and Tennessee. That's before you could make a copy from your cd and transfer it to your ipod, or listen to it from a purchased download. It was also before the RUclips became a thing to reference our favorite music material! I want to thank the band Giant for sharing such wonderful music with the world! You rock!
I always thought i was born in the wrong era.... Im 29. 30 in July and absolutely love this whole generation of music.... Recently lost both my grandparents and there is no place id rather be right now than here in this moment with them. Until we meet again, Love you both. Thank you Giant
I love this song since way back I didn't know who the band was I glad I found it and it means soo much to me now that my heart is in pain and my eyes can't stop crying I lost the love of my life and I can wait to see him in my dreams again 😭💕rip my beloved teddy bear 🐻
I remember when my mom and I went to the Flea Market one day. My mom is my biggest influence when it comes to music and we share a lot of love for it. We get there and she goes up to the CD department and looked for this album. Her and the dude got in a slight disagreement about this being a real band. And then she asked me who sang this and I replied Giant. She then said how does it feel to know a kid knows more about music than someone your age. Ahhhhh good times. Thank you mom.
What a great song!! It is about regret from the past. Never live in the past!! I also live with regret each day of my life but you have to move on!! Its not easy but you must find a way!! I can relate to this song!!
Sadly, for me this song is dedicated to my ex-wife who after 12 years betrayed me and her vows. "Time, time will never be a friend of mine again." That lyric especially gets me to the core.
Back in the days when MTV still was Music Television along with my family we were on vaccation in Austria or maybe on the way. Could be we stopped somewhere in Germany. First time i saw/heard this one on MTV in a hotel room. Didn't have cable/satellite tv at home so whenever you got the chance to watch MTV it was like a "Hallelujah moment"! Anyway when we had arrived at our destination in Austria i found a record store. In that store i saw a cd with different power ballads including this one! I just had to by it all beacuse of this song!!
Masterpiece!! But it is also a dark reminder that the love you let "slip away" will always hurt.. I do see her in my dreams and it crushes my whole day because i had to wake up to the reality that she's gone. Will i ever get over her??
I don't wanna go through this after i saw 3 of my closest friends go through it. I found the person i want to spend the rest of my life with and i'm doing everything i can to keep him in my life. Losing him would probably end up killing me. The feelings i have for him are rooted deeper than anything else i've ever experienced.
@@roadrocket7770 If you lose him, you won't die. It won't end up killing you. It just hurts a lot. But, enjoy every minute now. And if you and he are fortunate, you will be together:)
This is probably my favorite song. And makes me feel all the darker emotions. I mostly cry when I concentrate on this. Or feel some immense amount of angst - which I think was the purpose of this song - so horribly sad (I believe) that the woman in older years, after it was way too late, realized that she let the love of her life slip away (probably over some small thing said in an argument). And that stuff only happens once - you don't get a do over. So she can now only see love in her dreams of her lonely days of memory. Sometimes it is very hard to believe that it's better to have lost at love than to never have loved at all. I would honestly take the latter, as our hearts just can't take being broken very well.
So well said and so true. Your ability to analyze and go deep is pretty much in sync with mine and how I am. Very well said. People for the most part I find so shallow and fake. Song hits especially hard for me at this time. Realizing that my whole relationship of almost 7 yrs was a lie, a complete sham...none of it true. I loved him and gave everything, always believing he was my destiny, my forever person. He shows no remorse. When things get really bad and I am questioning everything about the situation I wonder if there was anything I COULD have done different even though tons of soul searching has told me otherwise. Im advancing in age as well and Im left with only memories as well as emotions Im not moving on from. Its hard. Yes hearts do not take being broken well. Thanks for your comment as well as listening😢
I toured with them. I'll alway’s remember when this tune came out. I cried and belted it out myself. My husband just ended his life. Oh yeah badass guys and tune! I'll alway’s remember being in Norway with many including them. Perfect song that takes you back and just gets truer as life keeps going on and we lose someone in anyway we loved. Right on
This song is truly one of the most heart wrenching songs ever. The pain from the loss of true love is very tangible for all who listen, and have gone through heartbreak themselves. I love the lyrics about being safe together inside a dream as day time has only memories of them once being together. Perhaps it sounds weird, but it sort of reminds me of the movie, Lady Hawk. Where if, but for a brief moment, the two lovers can once again be together.
Leonore Bongert The song hadn't even started and your comment made me cry. You're right. At least, you get to see that person, in your dreams, as if time never passed by. ❤
I lost my husband/SOULMATE of 20 yrs VERY UNEXPECTEDLY a few years ago. My SOUL DIED with HIM. BUT even in this PAIN, I do not regret spending those 20 yrs with him. I know LOVE NEVER DIES AND WE WILL BE JOINED TOGEATHER AGAIN ONE DAY, SONGS LIKE THIS REMIND ME OF LOVE AND LOSS and that we ALL need to HOLD OUR LOVED ONES CLOSE as if it is OUR LAST DAY.
Love is acting like you could lose someone at any minute for whatever reason! Your right. Not thinking that you could never, and thats when it happens. Truer words never spoken. Thank you.
I love Giant...Last of the Runaways and Time to burn album were great.. Dann and his brother started this band as their straight ahead rock n roll band. They were in the Christian band White Heart prior. Dann Huff is so flippin talented.. He's done tons of producing and studio guitar work for many bands and artists.. But can this guy write songs.. One of the greatest ballads of the 80's in my opinion...Miss these guys
I was just going to mention the White Heart connection with the Huff brothers. Of course there are some people that confuse Giant with the group David & The Giants which features the brothers David Huff, Rayborn Huff & Clayborn Huff. Both sets of Huff brothers had success in both the mainstream & Christian music industries.
When you are a musician and read comments like this about one of your songs, that is when you know you truly made it, regardless of the fame.
Good times 😃

Couldnt have said it better ❤️
Everytime when this song starts I develop goose bumps! It just takes my breath away. I can't help myself.
Oooooooooooooo
This song absolutely wrecked me back in the day! Love it so much to this day as an old lady! A masterpiece Power Ballad!
For those of us who grew up and watched MTV when they played nothing but Music videos, we were so lucky to have lived and loved in such a great time. Apr 18
That’s my birthday!!!! ❤️
this is my favourite song by G , am 54 soon and been there first time around,,,what a totally underrated song....
Perfect singer.Perfect singing melodies.Perfect arrange.Everything is perfect on this song.
You can feel the emotion of this song through his voice and his guitar solo!!!
Still one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Wish THEY'D come back for more.
Another song of the 80s that always gave me chills.....still does. Never understood why this band was so underrated when they can move a person so much with their music and strong vocals. . God I miss the 80s. Thank you
There were so many songs and bands that never got air time.
It came out in 1990. Just sayin
Much of huge fame is just a lot things coming together and some luck as well. Being an incredible band is't enough. Sad but true. This whole album is brilliant.
Plus grunge ( crap ) came along and stole the market.
@@oofyboy9808 It was released as a single in 1990, but the album it's on (Last of the Runaways) came out in August 1989.
@@oofyboy9808 1989
I first watched this video with the women I fell in love with. I was serving in the U. S. Army and I received orders to go to Korea. When I returned, I married her and almost twenty five years later things could not be better. I love you Karen.
Aww, that's nice (in Venom's voice)
You are a very fortunate man!
@@rangered2010 Thanks! Our thirty year anniversary is coming up.
This is one of those songs that flood you with emotion.
One of the most amazing heartbreaking songs EVER. I loved this song when I was just a teenager in the 80's. But now it has so much more of a deeper meaning for me. The one love that you truly never get over.
Ahhh one of those 80's tunes that will live on forever!!
i agree with ya
I agree! They are so much better than today's garbage!
This was one of those songs that I had taped off of the radio. I had never heard of Giant, never really listened to rock at my young age. But this song stuck with me and it still hits me every time I hear it.
Dann's guitar intro is haunting. Sets the stage for the balance.
Powerful, perfection and a sound that should never be forgotten.
Love this song!! These guys didn't get the recognition they deserve!! Dan Huff is an amazing musician!! LOVE GIANT!!
Omg One Of The Best Love Ballads In Time!
Excellent Brilliant Beautiful Super Amazing♥ Great Song Music and what an Amazing Voice wooow. ..♥ ♥ ♥
I couldnt agree more, Jamila! I just want to know what happened to upset the girl so much that she, apparently , never spoke to him again.
JAMILA ANDERSSON
I found you! :-)!
Actually I do see you in my dreams! I did last night! I love this song! GIANT "I'll see you in my dreams"!
JAMILA ANDERSSON
My lovely Jamila Andersson, how are you feeling today?
I hope you are doing great! I always want the very best in everything for you!
Ok,let's see if I can find you again! I am going to ALIAS:More Than Words Can Say. I sure hope you can meet me there! I'll see you in my dreams!
Thank you Alan for writing this beautiful ballad.
One of the greatest songs ever made.It is a song you can keep playing over and over.
how in the hell could someone not like this song
The song rocks, but the little picture on the wall at the 27 second mark is a bit pedestrian; that's why I didn't like the video. 😎
@@ucenic1 😂
i dreamt this song before my gf left me in 2012 it was a horrible dream and this song made it so powerfully horrible, i couldnt listen to this song until a year or two ago
@@iggyk23 Same as me friend. I actually did a photography shoot themed by this song, and doing so had me close to tears. But the end result was worth it.
Pretty easily.
this song is a rock masterpiece, on so many levels IMO
I'm so grateful I was there working at A&M in LA when they walked in for meetings for their debut. I got to experience what was to become one of my all-time favorite Rock bands of ALL time now, but didn't know it then. Mingled with them during those days, went back stage when they preformed at I believe was the 2nd Annual Mark and Brian Christmas Show. Sure wish I spent more time seeing them play.... I regret it SO much now! They deserved to be around ALOT longer than they were. Too bad so much talent had to take a step back to 90's grunge!
This is such a touching song. I wish Dann Huff was still singing. His voice is impeccable. Where have all the real guitarists and vocalists gone?
+Heather Franklin What happened to him?
Torin Jacques Dann Huff is currently living in Nashville producing country music and playing with Giant still. Guitar only.
Yes true, and the song was written by keyboardist Alan Pasqua and by songwriter and record producer Mark Spiro
I see you in my dreams...
They died out when that grunge shit picked up steam.
So much talent and musical prowess. These guys are what I call monster musicians. This song is so bad ass. The vocals and THE GUITAR!!! Talk about an EXPLOSIVE Guitar Virtuoso ... Amazing 🤘🤘🤘
I love this track. This is a great band that deserved better in the USA. Thanks for posting it.
2023 probably one of the best ballads when it came out but still great today really awesome song
Still the best now only have to look at the comments and views 😀
This chorus also represents people who grieve someone who passed away. Everytime I listen to it I remember my mom who died some time ago.
❤
wish i could go back to the 80s
mark k me too
Me Too!
Me too.
Yep and stay....it was the greatest...no violence..no cell phones..no internet... just the neighborhood hanging out with the girls swimming and biking everywhere...no worries in the world like these days
I'm an 80s girl Wow do I miss it
Terrific video! Great story line, and a musically challenging melody with multiple key changes.
I only recently discovered this song after listening to an old Top 40 countdown from 1990. This song is amazingly written and produced. It deserved a much higher chart placement and it needs to be mentioned more in the greatest one hit wonders of the 90's
Look on RUclips for Tommy Johansson's incredible cover, which is opening up this song to more people today.
"Time will never be a friend of mine again" Heartbreaking
Yup.
And So Very True....
i can relate to you i know what you mean hang in ther my friend keep your head up
DIDO
This has to be one of the saddest, most heart-breaking songs I've ever heard. As a kid (I was 10 or 11 when it came out), I thought it was cheesy, but as I grew up, I realized how much I loved it. Still do, to this day.
Love this song! Haven't heard it forever till someone brought these memories back ..💋
This was one of my favorite songs in the 90s. I'd listen to it over and over. One day I went on my keyboard and played it by ear. Only the second song I've been tried besides home sweet home. It stuck with me all my life and can no longer play due to illness affecting my hands. These Memories Won't Fade
Because its written forever here ❤️ and in my dreams
What a song, what a guitar player, Dan plays from the heart with soul!!
You rock!
crazy good band...I love this album as well
Great song 👍
I always thought i was born in the wrong era.... Im 29. 30 in July and absolutely love this whole generation of music.... Recently lost both my grandparents and there is no place id rather be right now than here in this moment with them. Until we meet again, Love you both. Thank you Giant
This song is just a heart wrenching reminder of past mistakes and losses. I love it, but every time I hear it, can't help but feel heart broken.
the strongest hearts are the ones with the most scars
Bill Salvey damn man! What a poignant comment. Beautiful

A perfect masterpiece this entire album. 10/10 so much talent on one ep. Still playing this disk and watching in 2021.
Very underrated song! This song should have been much bigger than what it was!
Gone, the voice that used to fill the room is all but gone. Repeat, repeat, and repeat some more. Love this song.
I love this wonderfully heartbreaking song. This one holds a special place in my heart. The lyrics are all too real to me.
Giant has released a new album in 2022 with most of the original line up. Can't wait for the tour dates!
..Yes ! The HUFF Brothers ! 🤜💥🤛
I love this song since way back I didn't know who the band was I glad I found it and it means soo much to me now that my heart is in pain and my eyes can't stop crying I lost the love of my life and I can wait to see him in my dreams again 😭💕rip my beloved teddy bear 🐻
for all of us who lost anyone we loved

Forever!!! One of the best Bands on Earth! Dann Huff - amazing musician!
One of the most powerfull rock ballads !
Dionysios29 Definitely a top tier. Easily on the level of a Whitesnake or Cinderella.
bromixsr I like your taste in music
In 2021, still the one of the best ballad song ever.
That was a time when music meant something powerful, emotion and talent from band like Giant, Toto, Mr Mister, Journey...
Hey, have u heard of youtube?? Lots of powerful emotional songs! Lol!!!
Absolutely love this band♥️ So underrated 😔 They are Phenomenal ♥️🤘♥️🤘♥️
I love the tender way she holds him with arms around his Bach. I’d love to feel that again.
This song accompanied me on the longest and saddest nights I have ever had, it was the melody I needed to hear, an authentic beauty. ✨
One of the truly great power ballads of all time , simply love it :)
80s sound still one of the greatest...this song is beautiful...shows love & inspiration 🎉😊❤
*A song that is a sad reminder of what life could of been and never will be again....Still love this song though!!*
0:44 that little lick on the guitar gives me 80s chills
Can't stop listening to this song. The 80's rocked.
I cant listen to this song without crying.
the most beautiful song of all time, the lyrics and music are great, full of memories ... thank you giant
What a beautiful song .....sorry to say I have known of this band but never really heard much....this sure turned me around ....
It's the last minute of the song that truly captured me.. Good stuff!!
Don’t get over her. That’s how you honor her.
Great analogy Eighties Joe!
Thank you.
Потрясающая песня, красивая мелодия от первой до последней ноты!
+Ryan T There is a GIANT III out also. Plus a LIve CD too! May be more...
Dan Huff is a music producer was on the CTV music show the Launch in 2018 for one episode the hair is shorter now
I was just going to mention the White Heart connection with the Huff brothers. Of course there are some people that confuse Giant with the group David & The Giants which features the brothers David Huff, Rayborn Huff & Clayborn Huff. Both sets of Huff brothers had success in both the mainstream & Christian music industries.
Still have two white heart albums in vinyl, have to dig them out.
I think I still have a White Heart album kicking around somewhere , I'll have to dig it out.Iknew I knew that voice from somewhere.
