Recently had a similar experience with a 2006 Toyota fielder. Bought it from someone who was selling it because it kept overheating and the guy didn't want to tell me. My mechanic diagnosed the problem immediately as a faulty sensor. Bought a cheap sensor for 2k and the car is driving from Mombasa to Meru every two weeks with no issues at all.
Nice one!. Always seeks a second opinion when it comes to major car repairs. This week on twitter Audi guys were opening their hearts on how mechanics make them import gear boxes and later sell them at throw away prices to the same mechanics cause some of them have mechatronic issues and also the gear boxes are not compatible
Mimi yangu ni Suzuki alto 2012 imenikula kichwa🤯 iko na shinda ya kuinstall asubuhi ama nikiiweka like 3 hours bila kudrive inasubua juu huwezi start na kudrive lazima ungonje like 5to 10 minutes ndo udrive, nimechange plugs, fuel pump, ignition coil,I cleanse all sensors but all in vain.
You just needed to change gearbox oil filter that is what the other mechanich washed temporarily ikichafuka same issue will come back. When you buy your next cvt car google where cvt oil filter is located and change it. Most of mechanics in kenya even garages dont know the importance of changing the filter when changing the cvt oil every 50k kms
Mechs wa Kenya nimekuja kuona waskize, lakini pia fanya your research before doing anything. Wanaeza kukosea sana. Kwanza hao unaita reputable online mechanics, hao mimi nimejionea mamba nao story za gearbox.
It appears you knew very little about your car because it was operated by a driver; your own driving experience could be very different from your driver's. Your driver could have been doing crazy things to save on money or even mishandling the car. If you had been the operator, the story could have been very different. Again, seek additional information as soon as possible.
I've a nissan March since 2019 and going very strong and never had any problem I used it for uber for 1 year but withdrew when that business went low. I use it even for long distances without any problems. The only thing I care is not to overload it.
Boss huwezi weka petrol kwa gear ya cvt bro thts a lie sema uliscam jamaa tu roho safi u never told him the truth infact u only did fine print to save your ass
na nikashangaa pia .. coz that will mess up the system in the longrun . especially if they try repeating it again thinking it is a solution . that gearbox is as good as dead.
Aii jameni.. Change your mechanic. Also if you are not ready to spend in the maintenance of your car.. You are not ready for a car. I do not agree with your car maintenance sentiments. But again it's not for everyone. Look for proper brand specialists to handle your car.
😂😂 nice. I took a car to a garage with a scratching noise....the mechanic says it's the flywheel thats broken. A 50k repair. I then go to the tunya group at carrefour...a drunk mech listens to the noise. Goes under the car with a spanner ..3 minutes later....no noise. Total cost 500/-

Most Kenyan mechanics do guess work with people's cars. I have been also been a victim with a Corolla Axio.
They make you buy the things that aren't even broken
Quite informative lakini Nairobi, Nairobi😆 Secondhand product quality disclosure wewe
It's better to service a gearbox locally coz an imported one could also be having a different problem...
If you go to mechanic then usikue nipee 50 bob nibuy fegi don't run he will fix your car at affordable price
Alto is not meant for heavy jobs i.e. matatu(uber). However,if you buy it to take you from point A-B it'll serve you for so many years.
It was time for the young guy to succeed your were the destiny helper more success is also coming your way ❤

Improper gearbox oil causes loss of power once heated up as it loses its friction properties
Thanks for this information
Same thing happened to me with my sports bike, it was fully fixed by roadside mechanics after the dealer's mechs failed me

😂😂😂😂😂....iyo n kutupa...cheap is expensive bro....
Can you recommend someone to own an alto for personal use? Doing 600kms once a month?
Yes but don't overload it. It's not meant for heavy loads or heavy tasks like taxi business. Very good for personal use running from point A to B.
Most mechanic in Kenya are delusional very sad
My Nissan March has a jerking problem sometimes. I once did a repair, and now it's back after 4 months. What should I do?

The car is sold as is at it's basis, after you've bought the car you can't go back to the seller
