Funny thing is, people praise when someone perfectly cover the metallica drumming(older or newer doesn’t matter) but these are the same people who bash Metallica's latest albums and mostly Lars in almost every Metallica video and tend to be some very gifted and talented drummers and musicians who could replace Lars any other day. Irony everywhere.
I love Lars. My parody Larsing vids are made with love. I've always wondered why he's the target when Nicko Mcbrain has been recycling the same beats and fills for 40 years. Lars inspired me far more.

If everybody would just stop being so hyper critical, I really think a lot of them would have to swallow their pride and just realize how good this album (and Lars' playing on it) is.
Joshua Booth my issue with the album was that every song was so repetitive. It was good, absolutely, but a lot of the repetition could have been cut from the album as a whole and it would have been one of my favourite albums. That and the god awful mixing. I’ve been a recording musician for over a decade and bad mixes really get on my nerves.

I respect a constructive opinion. I've been recording for over a decade myself, and I can understand the critique. However I've grown up listening to far, far worse recordings from both Punk and metal bands. The repetition comes down to choice, but that's not what I am talking about... It is the incessant bashing. Dude has done almost 4 decades of service and a world of good for the metal community, and it's still not enough. I guess some people choose to be pathetic. Dude let it go, he's a lazy unpolished drummer. He drops ccounts, misses hits, loses tempo and it's distracting. I don't Hate him or have a problem, it's just impossible to not notice.
Defending him is like rationalizing a bad drawing. The only defense anyone seems to come up with is to bash other drummers. It is what it is, oh well
The composition isn't bad (I like a good chuck of DM), but the drums aren't mixed right IMO.

I really don't like Hetfield's singing on the last few albums. He is constantly singing at the top of his range and it feels like he is always yelling, rather than singing lower in areas and then going higher in other areas.
