Ali, usually my most favorite part of your videos is when you say "Hey y'all!" but this video is everything to me! Everything! From your very raw emotion about being self-conscious of your weight (I am totally there with you sister!) to your complete and utter honesty about your faith and your past. I was raised Catholic and I believe in God, but i am not a devout person. I still pray but that is the extent of it. I'll be honest, a lot of Christians do leave a bad taste in my mouth, but I think it is because they are trying to force their religion and beliefs on other people. These people feel like everyone should believe what they believe. And that is not right. You, however, Ali are very different. And this is one of the main reasons I respect you and follow your YT channel. For you religion is a very personal thing. Anyway, I wanted to let you know how I feel. I don't usually follow people that are extremely religious, but you make it all sunshine and rainbows and really interesting. Plus I have total respect and aw for what you and your husband are doing. You are true Christians in that you are literally sacrificing/offering up a "certain lifestyle" to help other people. To me this is what Christianity is all about. I am not religious by any means, but I love your videos and I really respect people who continue to have faith in their life. I feel like difficult times can either diminish your faith in God or strengthen it and for me unfortunately I lost it. But i just wanted to stop by and say the beginning left me teary-eyed! The struggle with weight and loving our bodies is so real! But just remember you are awesome and beautiful! Actually a huge reason why I haven't started filming videos is because of how I think I look. But this inspired me to say screw it and film! (so i have to learn how to use my tripod now... hahah)

Thank you for this video! I'm a bit late to this one but love that you live at and run a prayer house. As one who lives in a church, it is a full but rewarding life serving God. I keep art journals but have never quite got to keeping a spiritual, prayer journal. I pray from morning to night, in quiet times and on the run. The time is fast approaching, however, to keep a spiritual journal as much of my time is slowly being taken away from 'people to support' to so much admin which govt and our church organisation demand. Its frustrating. I can 'work' up to 14hrs a day so I love coming into my little art room to play and let go of the demands and the concerns of His people for a little while and give myself a little time of my own. Ali, you have been blesssed in many ways, but oh Lord, that voice!

We HAD a miracle happen last night from a prayer prayed at our young ladies' Bible study! Found out today of a supernatural miracle. Prayed for a newborn born from a heroine addict. It was one of my young ladies' nephew. They said it would take weeks to wean him off and he was on methadone. We prayed for healing and TODAY his heroine level became 0 and was taken off all methadone! Praise God!

I identify most with the Unitarian Universalists, but listening to you talk about how you integrate your beliefs and faith into your daily life brought tears to my eyes. Hey there lady! :D So I had to interject for a minute when you talked about miracles still happening- I agree that they absolutely do. My daughter Nadia was born without a kidney. When I was pregnant with her, I had to go to multiple long appointments for them to search for it. It was finally noted in her medical chart that she didn't have one, but we'd just have to be meticulous about them checking her other one to make sure it was functioning. I remember talking to my mama about it and her telling me, "Oh she'll have another kidney." and I laughed at her (total Sarah moment) because I said that I saw with my own two eyes that there was an empty void where it should be & one doesn't just grow after the fact. But we prayed for it, and at a follow up appointment 6 months later, there it was- a fully functioning, full size kidney. Funny part is, it's not in the right spot, although I can confirm that they definitely searched there and it was still no where to be found. But they would have missed it if she hadn't started peeing all over the doctor's table and made the ultrasound tech abruptly move the machine to the other side. :) I remember the lady saying, "Hang on... wait a minute! LOOK!" and there it was. They said they didn't have a "medical explanation" for that, but they're glad she has two working kidneys.... And I'm pretty sure my face looked like that Aussie guys. hahaha. That was the first time I actually encountered a miracle in my life (that I know of!!) but it really opened my eyes and gave me a jolt & my relationship with Jesus was just simply ignited ever since then. He's so tangible when we just draw near. Love your TN setup for this... simply beautiful just like you! XOXOXO
+Marybeth Hancher WOAH!!!! That is so awesome!!! YAY, GOD!!!! So, funny thing. My boy Parker was born with Hydronephrosis of the right kidney. So he went through one arthroscopic surgery at 6 months old and then the doctors said he would have to undergo a second more invasive surgery later. We had several Lasix Renograms and his kidney was not working very well. The docs said that he would never get more than 60% function out of his right kidney even after the 2nd surgery. Well, we prayed. And I believed that God could do a miracle for my baby. And guess what??? He did!!!! When he was about 10 months old, at one of the routine scans, they discovered that his right kidney was not nearly as swollen. So we got another Lasix and his right kidney was functioning at 100%!!! WITHOUT the second surgery! Praise Jesus!!! So God does hear. And HE DOES heal! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful testimony with me!!! I LOVE IT!!! xoxo

I really like the idea of meditating on a piece of scripture. I've been trying to feed my spirituality more in this year...Especially since we have experienced such a crisis with David being laid off from the clinic (along with most of his co-workers). I started a prayer journal, and I think that's helping. I'm definitely going to try this meditative practice as well. Thanks for sharing, lovely!

Gurl! I was trying to watch this while getting ready for work this morning and when you started singing about Taylor, I had to turn it off. I lost a baby at 6 weeks, 17 years ago. I don't think about him all the time, but things will spark the memory and I remember my boy. It's not something easily discussed because people get it if you lost a baby at 6 months pregnant, but not 6 weeks pregnant. But as a believer, we KNOW God knew that baby before He placed her in your womb and I can relate. I came back in the afternoon to finish the video. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.

My husband and I are supposed to be filming our marriage testimony. He and I both work from home and have some much content to prepare separately (in the midst of our prayer house ministry and the boys' baseball) that it's been difficult to get our schedules to match up. +snapefangirl Hey there!! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to answer! I LOVE talking about Jesus with people. :) It's not too personal at all of a question as to my Bible translation. My favorite translation is the New American Standard Version and then the next would be English Standard. The NASB is a word for word translation. So it's pretty correct as far as it leans towards literal word for word translation and not thought for thought. The ESV is a bit smoother than then NASB but there are minor differences in some passages. If having a translation that is as close to word for word is important to you, I would say go with the ESV or NASB. If you want something that is easier to read and is looser in translation, then the New Living Translation can be good. My husband started out with the NLT. I am a stickler for wanting word for word translation so I love the NASB. :) Whatever translation you read, I pray that God would open the eyes of your understanding so you can 'hear' what He is speaking to you through His living Word. Because He SO desperately wants you to KNOW Him and hear His voice.

I am not religious by any means, but I love your videos and I really respect people who continue to have faith in their life. I feel like difficult times can either diminish your faith in God or strengthen it and for me unfortunately I lost it. But i just wanted to stop by and say the beginning left me teary-eyed! The struggle with weight and loving our bodies is so real! But just remember you are awesome and beautiful! Actually a huge reason why I haven't started filming videos is because of how I think I look. But this inspired me to say screw it and film! (so i have to learn how to use my tripod now... hahah)

Thank you for this video! I'm a bit late to this one but love that you live at and run a prayer house. As one who lives in a church, it is a full but rewarding life serving God. I keep art journals but have never quite got to keeping a spiritual, prayer journal. I pray from morning to night, in quiet times and on the run. The time is fast approaching, however, to keep a spiritual journal as much of my time is slowly being taken away from 'people to support' to so much admin which govt and our church organisation demand. Its frustrating. I can 'work' up to 14hrs a day so I love coming into my little art room to play and let go of the demands and the concerns of His people for a little while and give myself a little time of my own. Ali, you have been blesssed in many ways, but oh Lord, that voice!

Thank you for sharing - I have often struggled with how I practice my faith, but I do have my faith. I always appreciate seeing how others embrace their own faith, and I find if we keep ourselves open, we may just learn a thing or two. Thanks for sharing what is a very personal part of your life. On a tech note - looking forward to your first impressions on the Zip - I had to exchange mine - the first one just didn't want to work right, but the replacement seems fine so far. I love it - I even have a case for it, so when I throw it in my bag, it doesn't get banged up.

We HAD a miracle happen last night from a prayer prayed at our young ladies' Bible study! Found out today of a supernatural miracle. Prayed for a newborn born from a heroine addict. It was one of my young ladies' nephew. They said it would take weeks to wean him off and he was on methadone. We prayed for healing and TODAY his heroine level became 0 and was taken off all methadone! Praise God!

I identify most with the Unitarian Universalists, but listening to you talk about how you integrate your beliefs and faith into your daily life brought tears to my eyes. Literally lost it when you started singing the lyrics to "Taylor". So beautiful!
Hey there lady! :D So I had to interject for a minute when you talked about miracles still happening- I agree that they absolutely do. My daughter Nadia was born without a kidney. When I was pregnant with her, I had to go to multiple long appointments for them to search for it. It was finally noted in her medical chart that she didn't have one, but we'd just have to be meticulous about them checking her other one to make sure it was functioning. I remember talking to my mama about it and her telling me, "Oh she'll have another kidney." and I laughed at her (total Sarah moment) because I said that I saw with my own two eyes that there was an empty void where it should be & one doesn't just grow after the fact. But we prayed for it, and at a follow up appointment 6 months later, there it was- a fully functioning, full size kidney. Funny part is, it's not in the right spot, although I can confirm that they definitely searched there and it was still no where to be found. But they would have missed it if she hadn't started peeing all over the doctor's table and made the ultrasound tech abruptly move the machine to the other side. :) I remember the lady saying, "Hang on... wait a minute! LOOK!" and there it was. They said they didn't have a "medical explanation" for that, but they're glad she has two working kidneys.... And I'm pretty sure my face looked like that Aussie guys. hahaha. That was the first time I actually encountered a miracle in my life (that I know of!!) but it really opened my eyes and gave me a jolt & my relationship with Jesus was just simply ignited ever since then. He's so tangible when we just draw near. Love your TN setup for this... simply beautiful just like you! XOXOXO
+Marybeth Hancher WOAH!!!! That is so awesome!!! YAY, GOD!!!! So, funny thing. My boy Parker was born with Hydronephrosis of the right kidney. So he went through one arthroscopic surgery at 6 months old and then the doctors said he would have to undergo a second more invasive surgery later. We had several Lasix Renograms and his kidney was not working very well. The docs said that he would never get more than 60% function out of his right kidney even after the 2nd surgery. Well, we prayed. And I believed that God could do a miracle for my baby. And guess what??? He did!!!! When he was about 10 months old, at one of the routine scans, they discovered that his right kidney was not nearly as swollen. So we got another Lasix and his right kidney was functioning at 100%!!! WITHOUT the second surgery! Praise Jesus!!! So God does hear. And HE DOES heal! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful testimony with me!!! I LOVE IT!!! xoxo

I really like the idea of meditating on a piece of scripture. I've been trying to feed my spirituality more in this year...Especially since we have experienced such a crisis with David being laid off from the clinic (along with most of his co-workers). I started a prayer journal, and I think that's helping. I'm definitely going to try this meditative practice as well. Thanks for sharing, lovely!

Gurl! I was trying to watch this while getting ready for work this morning and when you started singing about Taylor, I had to turn it off. I lost a baby at 6 weeks, 17 years ago. I don't think about him all the time, but things will spark the memory and I remember my boy. It's not something easily discussed because people get it if you lost a baby at 6 months pregnant, but not 6 weeks pregnant. But as a believer, we KNOW God knew that baby before He placed her in your womb and I can relate. I came back in the afternoon to finish the video. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.

+snapefangirl Hey there!! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to answer! I LOVE talking about Jesus with people. :) It's not too personal at all of a question as to my Bible translation. My favorite translation is the New American Standard Version and then the next would be English Standard. The NASB is a word for word translation. So it's pretty correct as far as it leans towards literal word for word translation and not thought for thought. The ESV is a bit smoother than then NASB but there are minor differences in some passages. If having a translation that is as close to word for word is important to you, I would say go with the ESV or NASB. If you want something that is easier to read and is looser in translation, then the New Living Translation can be good. My husband started out with the NLT. I am a stickler for wanting word for word translation so I love the NASB. :) Whatever translation you read, I pray that God would open the eyes of your understanding so you can 'hear' what He is speaking to you through His living Word. Because He SO desperately wants you to KNOW Him and hear His voice.
