    Nice video
But since I have been using Ev for last 2.5 years so I would I like to mention few features
    1. Registration tax is free in evs
    2. The automatic transmission experience is ultimate as compared to IC engine automatic transmission
    3. It’s noiseless and vibration free
    4. Driving is effortless and very smooth
    5. Pickup and speed is very fast as compared to IC engines. It’s like a rocket
    6. Though initially you spend more but later on you don’t think about driving cost because it’s pretty less.
These are the few points which as a Ev owner I felt to put before all of you.
    Regards

The calculation you provided is based on partial information/data set. Few additional points needs to be considered in the calculation
1)Nexon XMA city mileage is average 12-13. So 2.5 Lakhs of petrol needs to be added in calculation, considering EV cars are more targeted for City dwellers.
    2) In many states very limited/no RTO/road charges are to be paid for EV, hence additional 1.5-2 Lakhs needs to be added for Petrol.
    3) Government provides 1.5 Lakhs of deduction benefit for the EV purchase( for many people it will save around 45-50K).
    4) Car loan providers also provide some discount on EV purchase- SBI Green Car Loan, which can save additional 20-30 K for loan borrowers.
Hence ideally EV will save roughly additional 4.5-5 lakhs over petrol version you were comparing, which making around total of 6-6.5 Lakhs of savings for 1.6 Lakhs KMs.

Example - CNG current rate 99 rupay mileage 30 kms per KG. 3.3 rupay per kms.
EV fast charging 125 rupay for 15 minutes - 80 % charge in 1 houre you have to pay Rs. 500 - Kms covered 150 to 200 Kms - 2.5 to 3.3 rupay per Kms.
      EV के नुकसान -
      1. Required 5 lakh appx more than CNG
      2. Limited range
      3. Intruptted journey (you have to plan route, Charging stations, halts before journey)
      4. Not fit for long route 500 kms and above.
Conclusion - CNG CARS still worthy than EVs

I am not agreed with your comments. Point wise reply of your comments are as under :-
      i. An individual expend more than 10 Lakh rupees on new car not only for city drive but also for highway for long journey. Nexon EV totally failed for the purpose of long journey or remote areas where fast charger not available. Considering the fact we have to wait till availability of faster charger every 100 Kms like petrol pump.
ii. Yes, many states not all states of India provide exemption on Electric Vehicle. In other hand you have to pay more premium in Car Insurance than petrol/CNG vehicles. The reason behind the higher car insurance premium of an electric car is that the repair cost is higher due to the advanced technology used in the car and electric cars may suffer heavy damage because of their lightweight.
iii. You are absolutely right but you have to deep study of the rules. Govt. provide deduction benefits US- 80EEB up to ₹1,50,000 on interest paid on loan amount on the purchase of electric vehicle. Its benefits depend upon the income of individual. You can save only Rs. 7,500/- when you fall in 5% slab and Rs. 30,000/- when you fall in 20% slab. This deduction applicable when you sanctioned car loan for purchase of Electric Vehicle.
iv. Current Minimum Interest rate of SBI Green card for car loan is 7.85 for Electric car and 7.95 for petrol/diesel/CNG cars. If you sanction loan amount 5,00,000/- for seven year the difference you have to pay interest Rs. 1,53,575.25 for petrol cars and Rs. 1,51,486.76. The difference of interest paid on both cars comes to Rs. 2,089.25 in seven years.

    Few points overlooked
Fuel cost will not remain constant for next 8 years.Maybe fuel goes up to 175 to 200.
Electricity can be fee if you install solar panel , not only for EV but your home.
Lithium ion cells are getting cheaper every year, and giga factories being set up ,so cell replacement might be 1 to 2 lacs as EV will be cheaper than IC engine. Ref Electric busses are cheaper even today
1,50000 kms you will need major maintenance like clutch plates fuel pump, and maybe engine overhaul, so average service cost will be more than you have calculated.
Many states giving subsidy on EV purchase ,that needs to be factored in.
EV will come out much cheaper plus social responsibility.

They don't know the rapidly growing EV and it's battery technology especially the ultra DC fast charging new generation battery technology that could charge from 0 to 80% in just 10 min time with a 400 KW DC fast charging and will get a 700 to 1000 km range. And it's hard to believe that any human being could ride a car continuously 1000 km without taking a break in-between their desired destination. Come on. Also when the technology get improve then the battery price also will decrease significantly. So, the comparison between ICE and EV doesn't make any sense. The only current issue with the EV is it's over price and that would going to down in very near future.

Thanks for the video and the economics of owning an EV. You made so much emphasis on the cost but didn't mention the CO2 saved of a ev that did 160k kms. The goal is carbon neutrality which an ice can can never achieve. Next you missed is the driveability of the 2 cars, Ev has smooth , has instant torque , zero vibration. None of this can be match by petrol Nexon. Infact it's slow, has jerky amt - it's not an apples to apples comparison. It's not common for people to drive 160K kms in 8 years nor do people do 1000kms in a day. If your running is high, then hybrid is a better option. For most folks a small ev like Tiago or ec3 is perfect for city use. Coming to battery, it can be recycled and reused again. It has a residual value. The warranty is 8 years - not the life!

You are not considering the rising cost of fuel in the next 8 yrs keeping it constant at ₹100 which is today's rate. USD is more than ₹82 INR and increasing. It is inevitable that fuel prices will continue to rise in exponential manner for sure. So if we assume that petrol cost rise linearly and will double in the next 8 years to ₹200/ltr, the average cost of petrol in 8 yrs will be ₹150/ltr. So the total fuel cost for 10,000 ltrs will be ₹15 lakhs instead of ₹10 lakhs in 8 yrs for 160,000 kms.
Also one can save registration charges of EVs in some states to almost ₹2-3 lakhs thereby decreasing the overall cost of the vehicle.
The only unknown is battery life/replacement cost after 8 yrs/160,000 kms which we will be able to see in the future.

Few things could have been better
    1) service cost for petrol varies with kms , can be between - 5k to 12k depending upon kms driven .
    2) ev charging as per today is 6 rupees per unit for home
    20 rupees per unit commercial
For Nexon it would be 60 rupees at home
    200 rupees outside .
    3) ev battery life is way more than 160k kms , it’s the peak you get till 160k kms , after than 10% life is refused makes it 90% reduction on mileage .
    4) fuel price won’t stay same for future .

Few things you left out :-
    1. A EV can easily last it's tyres and brake pads for 1 lakh km, so 2.5 times more than IC.
    2. With push on solar and renewable energy, energy prices may go low or atleast remain same, but petrol or diesel will surely go up.
    3. Resale value of IC will hit rock bottom in coming 5 year, as with gov and corporate push, low battery cost will eventually pull down ev cost. It's like selling scooter in recent times will fetch you nothing, as it's old technology.
    4. No matter how busy one person is , but atleast every one deserve 6 hours sleep and that's the time for charging your ev.
    5. Petrol is available at petrol pumps only but electricity as at every hone shop etc so in emergency you can always ask for help.
    6. Most important point, driving pleasure, even the best of ic engine cannot match NVH level of an EV.
    7. Apart from environment, india import 8 lakh crores of oil every year with foreign reserve.
    8. Even by your calculation 2lakh saving expected, if invested in solar panels. Even the electricity bill go nil.
    9. Serious ev are already there for 3 years and I think they have gathered enough experience for betterment in coming future.

don't go by video maker .
if you are driving less then 150 kms daily ev is best
      1) Diesel vihicle have more then 4000 movable parts so huge maintenance cost
you need take care of wear tear oil changes plus adultsration. compare it with less then 100 movable parts in electric
      2) no worry for driving in waterlogged area . it's fully rust proof and water proof
      3) electric motors are proven technology yiu have seen metro and mumbai local they are super study
      4) most important you have to pay in dollars for every drop of fuel. but electricity can be generated in bharat by nuclear solar dams and coal which we have in abundance
      5) battery technology is changing very fast , most probably your car battery will be replaced in next 3years with swapped battery .

    Sir/Maam
1st Nexon Petrol gives about 10-12 mileage in City (a friend has driven about 70k in Bangalore so far, feedback from him)
2nd petrol prices keep increasing every year, in Bangalore it is more than 110, I am sure at the end of 5th year it will reach 150.
3rd may be u will need to replace the battery on warranty by the time u complete 1.6 Lakhs.
4th EV will have better RESALE value, May be the depreciation on a Petrol car if u r selling after 5 years willbe more than an EV (provided ur battery is in good condition) as valuation happens on ex showroom price and on a petrol vehicle u have paid lakhs on Taxes which u don't pay on an EV (98% of the amount u have paid goes for the vehicle itself)
So overal I still feel its not bad to own an EV.
But I feel an expensive EV is not worth the money.
I think the Tiago n Tigor EVs will deliver better value than a Nexon EV or MG astor EV

Sorry guys but very pathetic comparison video so far.
    Lots of things are missing
    1. Warranty end doesn't mean battery will die after that
    2. Battery will degrade but No fuel hike, how is it possible?
    3. Petrol/diesel engine degradation also there.
    4. Most of the amount to buy a car will go for your car only if it's an ev and for ice engine lots of taxes.
    5. We should compare atleast a DCT engine with ev not with a mannual engine.
    6. Why are big players investing in lithium/sodium based battery manufacturing? only for EVs right?
    Non materialistic
    1. Driving experience, power, feel.
    2. Environment friendly.
No one can't give a guarantee that battery cost will decrease and fuel price will increase or vice-versa.
We should accept this transition rather than comparing.

Then, after 160000 kms petrol car would also require higher maintenance charges. Further, ev has far better ride experience than petrol cars. Govt is also promoting ev's, so it is future proof car. So, if buying new car, ev would definitely be better option, have no doubt in that

Few points worth considering. 1. Petrol price was 66 in 2013 and 33 in 2003, so calculate the increase accordingly for the next 10 years. 2. EV's resale is zero. 3. EV is almost double price, so you can add FD rate of the different price. You save significant amount on IC cars. EV is advantages if you have installed solar plates on your terrace which makes the running cost almost zero.

Everyone talks about only the savings, those who have driven electric vechicles will know how cool it will be in trafics, zero vibrations, silent cabin experience and quick accelaration in bumper to bumper traffics. my suggestion always 'If in case you are planing for a 2nd car in the family, then consider electric, First car Its up to individual needs, budget and usage'. Everyone cant offered for a new car, then comparasion of ownership cost is no use :) i support EV

You explained it nicely and in a very simple and realistic way. Only thing is that the cost figures were confusing. What was written was different from what you told. Check it and make necessary corrections.

    Your calculation is partially correct
Nexon XMA on road price is 1100859 in pune ( RTO and TAX) which is not applicable for EV
Subsidy is there for EV - consider that
petrol price is high and it going to be less than 105
more servicing require for Petrol - Company suggest after 5-7k KM. - so around 25 servicing for petrol
Few people travel State to state by car --- if that was so simple no need of train and bus .
Nexon EV range is 350km ---- so consider 300KM -- in that case Aprox 550 charging require
People having solar have advantage for charging -- no charging cost
Considering above factor -- EV is best option (* Nearby Travel upto 250 KM )

Very thoughtful review, 5-6 lakh investment will earn 50k each year and earn 5 lakh in 10 years (normal car life). Higher insurance cost and long drive limitations are negative factors. Hence it is not a cost saving in any scenario. Go for it if you want to feel the acceleration thrill and enjoy your drive + lower environment impact (although in India most of the electricity is produced from coal and consuming more electricity=burning more coal)

Abe pagal insan renewable sources kya ghumne gaya hai..... Wahase bhi electricity production hoti hai.... Now a days india produce more electricity that it consumes so u logic is not correct

Valid points bataye sir aur madam ne.. but main thoda vary karta hu.. Mene calculate Kiya tha agar main Tigor ev leta hu aur usey 450000 kms chalata hu to Mera buying + fuel cost approx 25Lakh ke paas bethega.. whi main compact SUV ya sedan ya hatchback le lu petrol me.. and maximum mujhe 16 avg bhi mile agar to 4.5 Lakh kms chalane me fuel 28,125 Litre petrol lagega.. Petrol ke price abhi 100 he but coming 10 years me itne hi nhi rhenge..150 b ho skte he n jis hisab se prices badh rhe he petrol ke 10 saal baad 200/L b ho sakta he.. main minimum average price 120 bhi laga lu to bhi Rs.3375000 sirf fuel cost ayegi car ki.. without adding the buying cost.. agar main Tigor EV k price ki koi petrol car lu to bhi 34+13= 47 lakh petrol car ki buying + fuel cost aati he..agle 10 saal chalane ki.. Baki YES, at this point, EV car me pese lagana ek gamble to he
