- I was able to check out Rogue Trader's multiplayer feature with @kormakrtv so I want to talk about my experience with it as I plan to play with a bunch of friends. Owlcat seem to be making sure this game is as good as can be! Let's discuss!

Unfortunately, no it still doesn't support CoOp. Just checked the game in Steam and there is no COOP tag of any kind (online or other)
I also did a quick test launch to start a new game and there are no multiplayer options.
The next XCOM needs COOP mode! Perhaps each player controls a base or half the team or something like that
i really am hyped for the next xcom i hope it has the same level of mod support as the 2nd one
Xcom is co op with parsec if you got decent Internet and a buddy you cna play it in full co op via remote playing I have done it and personally it works fantastic
I already do this. I sit on the couch with my gf we each have a controller, she commands half the squad I command the other half… It’s so much fun
The dialog choices are not linked to the Host - they are linked to the Rogue Trader character, the main one.
If you transfer RT to another person - he will be making the decisions.

when you get to the mercenary stuff, players can create their own characters instead of playing as the premade companions. But how much freedom is there to that? Or rather is there any difference from creating a 'mercenary' compared to creating the main playable character?

You absolutely should play the Pathfinder games. They're gold standard when it comes to CRPGs
it's really good like baldur gate 3 but in 40k universe which is awesome
BG3 has better implemented coop though

You can hire mercs which is a created character but without being a rogue trader
I don't like co op that makes the 2nd player basically a walking NPC. There's no attachment to their character and there's zero input. Even wasteland managed to do co op better than this. That came out years ago. And when you have larians dos2 and bg3 co op comparisons as a developer you've gotta be looking at that
Sounds as an none working coop, how fun can it be when you only can interact in combat unless you are the hoast. The other 5 player will have a wery bad time wathing the 6th do the jobb....
This is very true, sadly. We need a mod to fix this cause I’ve seen the developers talk about this. They’ve said it’s all working as intended and they want only 1 player to be able to make decisions. Sometimes it’s mind blowing how disconnected these devs can be, really a shame
I gotta say i dont see how playing a game where you wait around for the host to get into a battle with 5 other people then wait for your turn. I cannot see how this would be fun for anyone involved if what you say is how it works.
The battle in rogue trader are not particularly difficult and the turns last 15-30 seconsa tops theb waiting for enemy mobs
Pretty sure every person who has ever played multiplayer divinity or baldurs gate would disagree with you
@@REALdavidmiscarriage multi players baldurs great is fun because you have a character and interest. Multiplayer here is purely for fights, you don't have any dialogue choices, only the lead gets to do that

This sounds... awful from a co-op perspective. Only the host's decisions matter? Only the host interacts with the story? Does everyone in co-op just, what, stand there twiddling their thumbs?
