DoorDash wrongfully terminated (deactivated) me for fraud on February 5th, 2021.
“We regret to inform you that your DoorDash Dasher account has been deactivated due to engaging in fraud by marking multiple deliveries as complete when the customers informed us that these deliveries were in fact never made. Such fraud is a violation of our DoorDash Independent Contractor Agreement, and the Deactivation Policy…”
(“Sad Day” music from bensound.com and it was a good fit concerning this sad topic)
* Update, March 18, 2021*
Yay, I am reactivated on DoorDash after almost six weeks! "After taking a look at your appeal and the reason why your Dasher account was deactivated, we were able to confirm that you did not violate your Independent Contractor Agreement and the Deactivation Policy".
Was it their normal review process or prompting by the legal letter that LegalRideshare.com sent on March 9th? I don't know. I am happy! Thank you DoorDash!!! This doesn't change anything from what I said in this video.
Thank you for all your comments encouraging me to contact DoorDash daily for the status of my appeal. I have room to grow and you've highlighted that. Thanks to Chad (GigTube), I now use the Timestamp Camera app.
** March 23 Update **
Since proclaiming my innocence on March 18, 2021 I am still unable to get back on the DoorDash app. These last five days have exceeded the necessary “24 hours” to reset the account. The first redirect was to do another deactivation appeal. The second was to redo my background check. The next one was the background check was not an issue and so just to wait another 24 hours. I think instead of calling I’ll try the web chat option next.
* March 26 Update*
Doesn't look good. I need to do another deactivation appeal to assist in the approved reactivation.
** June 23 Update **
I should be reactivated. I started the app and it immediately logged in. I will wait until I'm available to try and dash again. Before that though, I'm going to call customer support and make sure that there is nothing wrong with my account. I do not want to repeat of what I went through the last few months.
Since my last update I've infrequently called customer support for a status check. I've also replied to the second deactivation a few times including additional information. This last time I attached a copy of the letter that the great team at legalrideshare.com received from the DoorDash legal department stating that I did nothing wrong and my account was reactivated. Maybe internally DoorDash didn't have a copy of it. On my last call to customer support the rep said that I should reply back to the email from my first deactivation (the one they said my account is reactivated) and say that my account is still not activated. Well wouldn't you know it, this worked. I was focused on the second deactivation (mentioned in the updates above) and never thought of that. I am happy and hopeful but I won't know for sure until I can actually complete a delivery.
---
A DoorDash customer service rep told me to reply back to the original email that DoorDash sent stating that my account was reactivated. I did and it worked; or, so I thought.
I replied back once again to that original email reply stating that my account is reactivated.
Here’s what I wrote.
Good morning, It didn't work. This is the third time the same thing has happened. Could you please thoroughly research what the problem is and fix it? You responded on Tuesday, June 22 saying my account was reactivated. I waited a few days and called on Friday, June 25. I spoke with the customer service agent and she confirmed my account was reactivated. On Saturday June 26 I went online and accepted an order. I accepted a Dog Haus order and the same thing happened as twice before....the account deactivated.
Hopefully the information I have been providing is helpful for you to take action on. I think there is likely a problem within your computer system.
If you aren't able to resolve it in my case, then maybe it is best to delete my entire account and then create a new one for me? Then you could take your time to figure out what is wrong with the system. This way I can get back on the road and deliver food for your company instead of more unproductive time going by.
Thank you for your consideration and help. Russ

You don't understand the mental stress that I've gone through with DoorDash
I'm so sorry, this happened to me, 2 days ago something is wrong with their system and they do not tell you what's wrong so how do you even appeal ?? Ever since A.I. got into these companies, it's all been frustrating customer support wants to get people who've been on the platform who pride in their jobs, I wish you the best😊
If they haven’t sent you an email so that you can appeal. I would call them anyway and just ask what’s going on with your account. I hate that feeling of knowing you did nothing wrong but they’re going after you. Russ
I called and sent in the request they are saying I, unfortunately, still am deactivated as I caused a violation but they aren't giving details. So I'll try calling this was my main source of income and ive always pride myself in this job 2000+ deliveries high ratings then AI seemed to come in and give Dashers that help the company look good get deactivated!!! Much mental frustration 🫤 I'm sorry to all wrongful terminations
That is so bad! If you can, contact the Rideshare Professor (he's on RUclips) and his link is in the video description. His company can likely help you. Russ
3.5 years and 14,6something orders and I get deactivated out of nowhere, no clue why, no explanation, no faith in dispute process.
I hope you can get back on. I suspected/thought/hoped that DD would care more about their true full time high earners for them. I hope my appeal letter could be an example for you. Let me know how it goes if you don’t mind. Russ
@@TheRussRydeLess than a day to tell me it's final, but I started Uber eats, more money, but the 12 hours on and 6 off is retarted, at least with DD, I could crank for 24 plus hours straight without issue. But I'm thinking of going back to real jobs, have been a shop manager before, just saw I could make more money working on my own, it seems over time they treat us more and more like children, and actively reduced pay before trying to transition to hourly. It was a few months late spring early summer dropped from 25 easily the hour to 12 to 15... Then get offered to do hourly averaging 15/hr. Very suspicious🤔
True! I trust you will find a source for good income and who knows still have extra income from the variety of side hustles. I’m all for that too! Russ
@@TheRussRyde I can submit another dispute in a few days I guess every 90 days, I probably always signed it for the customer and one of em said that's not my signature and had me. I'll be real kiss ass on this dispute, apologetic and such, a few fancy words, at least have something on the side, weekends too.
@@Throughthelurkingglass I’ve done that too for UberEats pharmacy deliveries too. Mmm. Elderly don’t hear well or want to be bothered except just to get their medicine. Thats good for your W2 job too!
I was deactivated. It said I did not have a completion rate at 90% but then I saw a fraud comment. The appeal was denied
That is terrible! Check out the info in the video description on the Rideshare Professors company who might be able to help you. Russ
The reality is they do not care about the drivers because they have a lot of drivers and every year a new group turn 18 and becomes available to them and them the drivers are machines not humans.
Correct! They thrive on high turnover. Russ
I wrote base on analysis I've done analyzing people that do those activities for a living an the things I see that 99% of them have in common is that those companies always deactivate them once they reach 2 years to no more than 2 years 6 months and after that the company make them chase a reactivation back through a slow and long painful sufferance as if they're teaching those drivers a painful lesson through demoralization of life and possibly 9 to 15 months later they go through another deactivation again the next reactivation is even more lengthier than the previous one.
These companies are predators and they prey on those they contracted and when you raise that up to them the y retaliate viciously, let's also not forget they put those foreigners in Asia as over the phone and E-Mail bosses which also treat those driver extremely way worse than human get treated.
@@aknatwafayisgate7027 I can see that the companies do not care how many orders a driver has done well and they get rid of them instantly. It is deplorable. Drivers are expendable for sure. When you work it is at your own risk. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on these deactivation patterns . Russ
All these deactivations have low AR. DD is not playing. They’ll find a reason to get rid of drivers not playing their game.
Yes and they know odds are low a driver would sue them in small claims court.
Hi Russ I spoke with someone yesterday with an American voice. She had me on hold for about 5 to 6 minutes.
She told me that it looks like no one has been working on my appeal and that I needed to do a new one
Keep in mind I've been waiting since June the 20th
In the meantime I've been applying for 9:00 to 5 jobs
I don't think they like the fact that I make a lot of money with the platform in a smart way talk to text
@@chrislaneDivo ok that is a good idea. It’s sad that you can’t trust them
@@TheRussRyde 😂 they're doing this on purpose
I could think of a zillion reasons why they would intentionally deactivate people's accounts for 30 days 60 days or 90 days This has something to do with profits....
@@TheRussRyde I know how to pick offers that make sense and still keep my ratings up high
That's what they don't like about me
That's the real reason they deactivated my account
@@chrislaneDivo I wouldn’t be surprised.
Would attaching a camera on your body while you're walking to someone's house/apt and have it record you dropping off the delivery help? Have it record every step that you take. I have a 360 degree camera and it records the interior of my car too. If I get on with DD, I will also buy a camera that I can attach to my shirt and have it record me delivering the item too. I know that with a lot of orders that we "Take a Picture" of the item being left on someone's door step but it sounds like even that is enough. I think that it's time that we all start going to the News about why we are getting Deactivated. A bunch of us should get together and Sue Uber/Lyft/ DD and go to the news stations about how controlling that they are towards INDEPENDENT contractors. They'll deactivate you for getting a speeding ticket in YOUR PERSONAL TIME??!! They need a massive lawsuit and for it to become national news
Yes, that is the better answer. We are irrelevant to the companies now. The body camera was all I could think of to have proof of delivery. More importantly it does keep customers on their best behavior and it documents anything going wrong like being attacked by a dog, person, robbed, any other crazy accusations. That's where the real value is in the body camera. Russ
I have been deactivated twice, recently as in last month... I appealed thru the normal channels on both occasions was reinstated exactly 30 days later... if you've been reinstated I suggest reapplying in 30 days .Likely it's just a month suspension to keep you in your place... the worst part is zero notice, zero. leaving you scrambling for income. When you rely on those weekly deposits and a suddenly stop, it's an issue.. by the way I have been dashing full-time for 6 years. 5.0 customer rating with over 21,000...! Yes 21,000 and they deactivate you like it's nothing! Zero job security, severance pay or gratitude
That is unreal given all your dedication to them. This is great advice and insight. Can you clarify, what do you mean by reapply after 30 days? Thank you, Russ
Same Shady situation with my account. They don't even provide us with proof and evidence of how we violated their contract.
This should be illegal
If I violated your contract tell me how I violated your contract
DOORDASH IS FULL OF CRAP
They say a lot of things. Its even in the contract. But it does not mean you wont get deactivated for it. Look how many people have been falsely accused of things, and deactivated. We ASSUME some customer lied. We have no proof of it. No way of checking. But dd does say other things in the contract that they violate. Im not convinced that they wont retaliate for low acceptance rates.
Good point. They never offered any proof of anything. When they received my letter to their legal dept they said all was well and I was reactivated. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Russ
@@wordswritteninred7171 yuppp especially when you have a good acceptance rate but still manage to turn away shady orders.
Common causes of erroneous deactivation:
Algorithmic errors: DoorDash’s automated systems can sometimes misidentify violations based on user behavior, resulting in erroneous bans.
Data Errors: Wrong data matching or entry may lead to the actions of one driver being mistakenly attributed to another and thus unjustly resulting in deactivation.
Wow! You could be deactivated because you are within 50 feet of another dasher
@@TheRussRyde it's deep. I wish you would make some more RUclips videos digging in deeper on the system errors and their algorithms.

OH I FORGOT TO TELL YOU

Deactivated, create another account.

@@TheRussRyde It’s drivers out here with 3 Accounts. Like you said, your account may have a glitch.
@@Shantanano Good point! That is unbelievable about multiple accounts, but I do believe you.
How do guys get away with using multiple accounts? What about when they pay you and you use the same bank account on each account? How about when you use the same car too? How do people get away with using multiple accounts? Don't you have too take a picture of yourself? Show proof of insurance too?
@@TWHISPERER I have no idea I didn’t have high hopes that it would work and sure enough it didn’t. I would suspect drivers are using other peoples identities with their permission for a fee.
No need to wipe out the phone. Make a new email, and get a text free account, which is a free number. Problem solved.
I will look that up thank you so much!!
