If you ever get the chance GO SEE the Adrian Belew Power Trio. One of the best shows in a small venue you will ever see and hear. Absolutely jaw dropping talent. They are fun, unpretentious, and off the hook.
They ARE a mighty fine band and put on great shows. I liked Saul Zozana as an opening act for them, but the Trio is not as good with him having made them a quartet. Still love Adrian, always will. I saw him with KC in '84, solo three times, and with the Trio twice. Such a great musician.
Anyone with a resume that includes stints with Bowie, Zappa, King Crimson, and Talking Heads couldn't possibly be pretentious. He helped Fripp give KC a contemporary facelifts in the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Super cool, super respected guy who makes his guitar sound like a zoo full of chirping and roaring animals.
Undoubtedly the best most versatile guitar player alive
Brilliant guitarist! Be sure to check out his releases... and buy 'em!
I remember Adrian in a girl scout dress on stage in New York with Frank Zappa. He sounded great!
My dad loved singing the harmonies of hymns in church he was great and played great jazz
I saw Adrian Belew with Bowie. He was utterly amazing.
Great Interview, Belew is the most underated guitar player, yet the most modest
This is a great interview. Clear and true.
Robert Fripp did not approach Belew with the idea of starting a new King Crimson, he wanted him to become a part of his new musical project, a top notch band that he originally wanted to call "Discipline". Only after rehearsing and playing together did it become evident to Fripp, that this band was, indeed, another iteration of King Crimson.
mitch is a great interviewer
Adrian Belew continuously inspires me and I was happy to see him in a thoughtful interview. Good job, Sweetwater. If I could only afford his Signature Parker guitar.
Same!!
Excellent. Many thanks, Mitch.
You Great Adrian !!
Everytime Adrian puts his hand on the knee of his black trousers against the black background, it catches my eye as it looks as if he was putting his hand on Mitch's knee :D
Love Belew's style, and Mitch interesting questions leaving time to answer them.
I was hoping someone else already said that! XD
Loved that delay thing at the beginning .These intimate Sweetwater interviews are great .
I learned how to play bass because I had pneumonia in Jr. High, and had to quit track, and the only thing to do was play my brother's Vox bass he left while going to college - lol!
At about 6:50 Mitch says someone told him that he heard Adrian and said he felt like quitting guitar. I've never had that feeling. When i hear a great player it just makes me want to keep playing!
A master and humble guy
Awesome, Love it.
Seen AB and DT in NJ 2012 best concert to date that I ever experienced
Seen Blew with Zappa and king crimson.
Excellent interviewer
I always had a thing for Parker guitars. I’m a bass player. I knew some guitarists friend who tried to turn me off but I always liked them.
Jeg hører alt for mye på andre....
Hærlig fyr
holy. cow.
Notice how they're super careful never to say Axe FX because Sweetwater can't make money on that
Very good interview! As a musician sometimes you have NOT talk or NOT play...... just listen.
so,after all these artist discovered him, a symphonic orchestra
called him because they wanted to play his songs????
what is next Andrian, win the lottery ?
i guess you already did many times, in your way
And now you can't buy Parker guitars anymore
