Hey, Mish! Beautiful silver! To my untrained eye it looked like just a rusty piece of steel chain, but hearing you exclaim and burble loudly underwater, "Oh, wow! Nice! I think that's silver!" once again reminded me of one of the many reasons I watch your channel - you're skilled at what you do. We could use a few more Mish's out there helping the environment, but we're happy to have the one we do! You're awesome! Always looking forward to your next adventure! Later, friend!
AWESOME Dive DFM👍 That chain cleans up real nice and that rocky shelf you hit is screaming GOLD if people are swimming over it I’m more than confident you’ll find gold on it👍👍 see you on the next hunt💍👍
Hey Mish, well done on the lead, great little dive. Great find on the Ag too. You are loving the Deus. Spoke to Michael today for about an hour and is keen for a meet up and dive. Heading to NZ for a skiing holiday in Sept, might look into some gold while I am there. We gotta get a cuppla dives in too one day, Maybe the 4 of us. Cheers and Happy Hunting Brad
Thanks Brad! I think the thing you're missing is the sheer weight difference, can swing a D2 for days and not feel the consequences unlike the Excal. Mind you, the Excal has a much more rugged build and can dive 3x the depth so they've both got their place. Trip sounds great - have fun over there!! And yes I'd be keen on dives with any combination of you all, though I can see Dan yourself and I chilling by a campfire just as easily. Cheers mate :)
Hi Mish, so much lead there. I'm glad you got what you found out. Saving sea life, yay. The bracelet is gorgeous. Awesome find. Take care and stay safe till next time. ❤️
I may have mentioned it before, not sure. But taking Lead out, particularly in my area where there is a lot of crabs helps the environmental chain. I didn't realise how lethal Lead is to crabs, even though the Lead sinker is intact. It's the micro shavings that we don't see coming off the sunken sinker that is killing them. This in turn becomes less food for the likes of Flounder Fish that come into the Estuary to feed on crabs. Those crabs would also be infected with Lead which will lead onto the Flounder's fate. Sad circle... So always stoked to be removing Lead on a continual basis in my little piece of paradise.
Always happy to have a positive impact on the waterways, there is an absolutely insane amount of lead in the water where I am. It is really sad how it slowly poisons the wildlife and I suppose is also ultimately detrimental to the fishermen trying to find a catch. Glad you're making a difference over there too mate. :)
Howdy Mish, What a great little adventure. It seems the Deus 2 performed really well for you. The silver bracelet cleaned up very nicely. It's such a shame the covid found you in the middle of your diving season. I'm sure we would have seen more videos like this if it hadn't. Maybe next summer. Keep on moving on. Your buddy, Roelf
Thanks Roelf! I love how snappy the response time is on targets and just how light it is, while I preferred the sounds of the Excalibur 2, it was a lot slower process to effectively pinpoint a target. You would've definitely seen more dives if I'd been feeling better, hoping to smash out plenty in the next dive season. Cheers mate.
Thank you so much! I’m looking forward to doing more of this when the weather warms up a little, it is bitterly cold where I am right now. I’m also in the midst of moving houses, so while I haven’t been producing weekly videos lately I promise those are coming back. Welcome to my channel 😊
Holding my place wouldn't be an issue, but getting back out safely might be! I'm careful not to overweight myself around these jagged reefs, better to detect in the shallows in such conditions. Cheers mate!

Glad to see this video as been out for a bit. I'm considering picking up an XP Deus 2 because of it's light weight and primarily it's claim to be waterproof. Now that you have had the machine for awhile, have you had any issues with it flooding? I'm currently using a Tiger Shark for my dive treasure hunts, but I'd like something that doesn't weigh as much and has some numbers I can look at.
Hi there! No leaking issues for me with the machine, though it is very important to switch the control pod’s plug to the diving plug (red plug) when hunting underwater, the grey plug is only rated to 3ft/1M. I only tend to show the screen on videos as viewers like to see it, the Deus II has excellent audio-based information and the screen is not necessary if you’ve customised your tone breaks to align with the targets you are hunting for. Happy hunting 😊
@@DirtFishMish Excellent and thank you. I didn't know anything about the plugs. The tones are another reason I want the Deus. My Tiger Shark emits only one tone, be it iron or coin. Since I dive with tanks I would like to spend more time digging the good stuff. lol.
Great dive Mish congrats on the silver bracelet. When I saw it was a dive hunt I thought man you are brave but then you said it was done in February because that water would be freezing 🥶 at the moment. Look forward to the next video 👍👍🍺🍺
Hi Rob, thanks for that!! The diving system is called 'Nemo' by a company called BLU3. It's a battery operated hookah diving system. It's the smaller of their two models and can dive to 3M/10ft, I find I get over an hour's diving per battery which is easily swapped out to extend a dive. Here's some info and places to obtain one: Australia: www.detect-ed.com/collections/dive-systems/products/nemo?ref=3 US/International: lddy.no/136rq Hope that helps :)
Jealous on several levels -- can't dive for health reasons, don't live near an ocean, but would love to sit on the beach any time! I'm thinking that raft is a little small for you -- maybe you could blow it up bigger? ;^)
hehe! If it hadn't been so turbulent, I would've been weighted perfectly! I try not to overweight myself in these reefs, as it is not as simple to exit as a sloping sandy bay. Safety first 😁
You always look like you know what you’re doing. It’s going to be challenging with the camera and and the detector, most you tubers I see do it in calm waters, with a bit experience a little surge you could adjust to. Remember that ground balancing your machine is as much your state of mind, clear calm and aware of your surroundings, that’s what I see when watching you, when your losing your balance you get out of the water.
Great video Mish glad I watched this I will soon be upgrading from the nox800 to the Deus 2 even though I love the nox the Deus 2 is coming out much better than the manticore
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! The D2 is my favourite machine for swinging over long periods of time, and the audio information it provides for targets is fantastic - I found the learning curve a little steeper than most machines but the default modes are pretty good as well. I’ve just added a Nokta Legend to my kit, so I’ll be mainly using the Deus for land and also deeper diving (below 3M/10ft) hunts. Cheers 😁
That was the selling point for me mate, the Deus II is waterproof to 20M depth provided the diving plug is inserted into the control unit. Abundantly lighter than the other diving machine I had! I've noticed a far improved treasure to trash ratio BUT it has been a heck of a learning curve to produce those results. Most people would be better suited to a grab-and-go solution eg. a Nox or a Legend. Works well for me though :)
Hey there Iffy, thanks so much! If the water wasn't so flipping cold at the moment I'd be out there making more of them 😆 ocean is in the low teen's C / low 50's F at the moment. I've got the Nemo and also the Nomad on standby for Spring. Cheers!!
Hey mate, cheers for that! It's a battery-operated floating compressor that pumps air down on demand (ie, when I breathe in). Mighty clever little piece of kit, and you can swap a battery out to do a subsequent dive. This is the 'Nemo' which goes to 3M/10ft (I'll link below) and there's also the bigger brother, the 'Nomad', which goes to 9M/30ft. Here's some info and places to obtain one: Australia: www.detect-ed.com/collections/dive-systems/products/nemo?ref=3 US/International: lddy.no/136rq And I've also got a playlist of my videos using them: ruclips.net/p/PLQ1Al7Yqbk8xox5svbrp9uUIcd5AwO5ye Hope all that helps!!
I sell all of my scrap lead and buy gold and silver bullion - lead is for free and there is tons of it so I get my bullion for free, well not entirely but I see it that way, love my hobby and it pays off by cleaning out the lead and the rubbish
Sure do, otherwise I’d just float on the surface due to all the neoprene I have to wear. Weight varies per individual and also what thickness suit you’re wearing on the day, but this calculator is a great guide on where to start (where it asks for tank size, choose Free Diving): www.divebuddy.com/mobile/calculator/weight.aspx
It's called a 'Nemo' by BLU3: lddy.no/136rq Basically it's a portable hookah diving system, the floating thing is a compressor that sends air down the hose to me on demand when I breathe in. It is battery operated, so if the battery gets low I can swap it out for a new battery and keep diving. Brilliant little unit! :) I got mine from Detect-Ed, not sure if you're in Australia but if you are you can get them from here: www.detect-ed.com/products/nemo?ref=3 Hope that helps :)
Hi mate, I don't take the Equinox diving anymore as it is only rated to 3M depth - the Deus 2 is rated to 20M :) I was using the Excalibur II for diving before the D2, but the Excalibur is very heavy!
Diving is my happy place, when I can get in there :) Sadly it is generally too rough to dive my (surf) coastline during most of winter. I'm sitting here and watching the calendar. Cheers Dug!
I'll be completely honest, I don't think I checked it 😂 Some hunts I'll inspect every single coin, and other times they get tossed into the tumbler pile! Cheers mate.
Very good info I purchased a blu3 nemo and I am looking to get a detector to dive with I am afraid to use my nox 800 due to water getting in unit I am not sure which one to get I am thinking of this deus 2 or a excalibur but still not sure been looking at videos to see which one is better deus 2 Excalibur 11 or any other one. Again thanks for the info. Hello from Dominican Republic ✌️💪👍🇩🇴
Hello Gold Sea, congrats on the Nemo, they're a lot of fun! I used to own the Excalibur II as well, it is an awesome machine and very waterproof however it is also very heavy, the design is now quite old and hasn't been updated in many years. Something to keep in mind if you plan to detect out of the water as well. The Deus II is waterproof to 20M and is the most comfortable to swing for a long time, however you must remember to put in the dive plug (a little red plug instead of the standard grey plug) on the remote, and also connect the antenna between the remote and coil before diving. The Nokta Legend is a great affordable option that goes to 3M depth and would be good on land as well, plus it is half the price of the Deus II so it would be worth a look! Either machine will need a waterproof headset as well. Happy hunting :)
Hello DirtFishMish, Hope you're having a great morning, May I ask what Go Pro you are using while detecting as I would love to get one to record my journeys.. Kind Regards Daniel.
G'day Daniel! These days I use GoPro Hero 10 Blacks, in this video I had it mounted to the GoPro floaty selfie stick (you'll see it mirrored in my mask in part of the video), other times I have it on a mask mount BUT the more recent GoPros (8 and up) are fairly heavy on a mask). My first videos were filmed with a GoPro Hero 6 Black, and I had an 8 in there somewhere too lol. Anything 6 and up would be my recommendation, though avoid the 8 due to a non-user-replaceable lens. Hope that helps :)
@@DirtFishMish Thanks for the reply back, Purchasing my Equinox 800 very soon, just curious.. What made you want to change it to the Detect ED frame? Kind Regards Daniel.
@@danielgibson1237 the lighter weight was nice, but the real selling point for me was the lever lock system - it can be very difficult to adjust the equinox’s pin-lock shaft if there’s any sand grit in there, and I have a small car so it needed to be adjusted every time I went out. 😉
Would you believe that's only a small haul for this area? Many people fish along this coastline and I've pulled out more than my body weight in lead over the past year. It's quite confronting! Cheers Ralph :)
Prices will vary in each country, here in Australia this machine is worth A$2499, another good diving machine is the Minelab Excalibur II which is around A$1900 but is much heavier. There are lots of other machines that have some waterproofing as well, so shop around 😊 Cheers!
@@DirtFishMish Thank you dear I'm living in United Arab Emirates ...UAE.. since long years ,,,I will search online more but the shipment is costly sometime I will go to Dubai I know on supplier I think they are selling Turkiesh or US brands made Thank you and take care always and thanks again for the reply
your quite a sight up close underwater. You had a great dive collecting sinkers. Sell those sinkings online. Smelly Fishermen will happily pay half the shop price for them and you will be well ahead of scrape lead prices. Fishermen, like gardeners, are ripped off for their supplies.
Thanks mate, I make dive weights with the scrap these days, or at least I do when it's not belting down with rain outside lol. Rain and molten lead isn't exactly a winning combo. Cheers!
@@DirtFishMish I saw dive weights made from gild painted blue and smuggled out of a country. NEVER have even a drop of water in your mold. I have a tale of woe about lead in a bullet mold.
Hi there, everything we do in life has a level of risk, just as carrying excess gear can be an entanglement and concentration hazard (I already have a knife and filming gear on me, weight belt, finds pouch, breathing apparatus and detecting equipment which has a long headset cable). I’ve dealt with a few fish hooks in my time, and that is an accepted risk of mine rather than the hazard of juggling another item in the kit. Cheers 😊

Water is around 14ºC at the moment and still dropping! Would've been 17-18 at the time of filming. Cheers mate :)
Nice hunt well done on the silver.
Thank you :)
Hey Mish, cool video. Where did you acquire the dive flag / float and the extended snorkel? I'm hopeless at holding my breath so this would be great!!
Here's some info and places to obtain one:
Australia: www.detect-ed.com/collections/dive-systems/products/nemo?ref=3
US/International: lddy.no/136rq
Hope that helps :)
Well done M, that bracelet was a nice surprise 😲 I was thinking before the date came up it's too cold to be diving now 😂
Yeah, it's time to crack out the 7mm suit, hood and gloves now! Surf is too rough for the hookah units now unfortunately.
Amazing Braclet Mish well done, made me feel so cold though lol, hope you are well xo
It wasn't cold back then! Filmed in Feb, lol. Cheers Deb, flat out here but all for a good cause as you know x
At least you did not need a weight belt in the end, what do you do with all the lead you find
I still had a decently heavy weight belt on before the lead was added, lol! I make my own diving weights :)
nice dive
Parabéns e um prazer assistir você fazendo detectorismo sou do Brasil
Thank you! 😄
Jealous on several levels -- can't dive for health reasons, don't live near an ocean, but would love to sit on the beach any time!
I'm thinking that raft is a little small for you -- maybe you could blow it up bigger? ;^)
I feel very lucky to live near such beautiful beaches! :)
Great to see you back in the water, you may need to load up on sinkers before going deeper to lock you to the bottom? Only joking.
Cheers 😁
I didnt know they were waterproof. So what do you think are they better than a nox?
That was the selling point for me mate, the Deus II is waterproof to 20M depth provided the diving plug is inserted into the control unit. Abundantly lighter than the other diving machine I had!
I've noticed a far improved treasure to trash ratio BUT it has been a heck of a learning curve to produce those results. Most people would be better suited to a grab-and-go solution eg. a Nox or a Legend. Works well for me though :)
Hey Mish, nice Nemo videos. New sub 👍
Hey there Iffy, thanks so much! If the water wasn't so flipping cold at the moment I'd be out there making more of them 😆 ocean is in the low teen's C / low 50's F at the moment. I've got the Nemo and also the Nomad on standby for Spring. Cheers!!
Great video! Does that floating air thing use a pump or just extend the tube above the water? Looks fun 👍
Here's some info and places to obtain one:
Australia: www.detect-ed.com/collections/dive-systems/products/nemo?ref=3
US/International: lddy.no/136rq
And I've also got a playlist of my videos using them: ruclips.net/p/PLQ1Al7Yqbk8xox5svbrp9uUIcd5AwO5ye
Hope all that helps!!
@@DirtFishMish Very cool! Thanks for the info.
I trust you wear a dive knife all those sinkers at one time had a hook and if you ever hook yourself a knife would serv to cut the line
Sure do, it’s strapped to my shin. Also doubles up as a bottle opener, should I need to celebrate a good day’s diving. 😉
fun video, if you melt all that lead down maybe you could make something like a boat anchor, lol
lol!! I'd definitely have enough lead to make one in my scrap heap! I might stick to dive weights though 😆
I sell all of my scrap lead and buy gold and silver bullion - lead is for free and there is tons of it so I get my bullion for free, well not entirely but I see it that way, love my hobby and it pays off by cleaning out the lead and the rubbish
estupendo!!!
What the program you work in diving I was glad to know. I have dous 2 to lol
I usually use Beach mode (not diving) provided it isn't too chattery at the location. :)
Hey DirtFishMish 👍😎
Bien le bonjour de France
Nice Vidéo 👍🙏
Merci! :)
Do you use a dive belt? If so, how heavy?
Sure do, otherwise I’d just float on the surface due to all the neoprene I have to wear. Weight varies per individual and also what thickness suit you’re wearing on the day, but this calculator is a great guide on where to start (where it asks for tank size, choose Free Diving): www.divebuddy.com/mobile/calculator/weight.aspx
Whats is you setup to dive? Whats is the hose is it connected to the floater?
It's called a 'Nemo' by BLU3: lddy.no/136rq
Basically it's a portable hookah diving system, the floating thing is a compressor that sends air down the hose to me on demand when I breathe in. It is battery operated, so if the battery gets low I can swap it out for a new battery and keep diving. Brilliant little unit! :)
I got mine from Detect-Ed, not sure if you're in Australia but if you are you can get them from here: www.detect-ed.com/products/nemo?ref=3
Hope that helps :)
Tanks 😊
Boa noite 🌙 Menina.
Seus vídeos são ótimos 👍.
Must be a good fishing spot.
Yep, most of my coastline is frequented by fishermen, I find a lot more lead than I do coins here but it is nonetheless a beautiful place to be. :)
Hello, which metal detector do you like better for diving the Equinox 800 or the Deus 2? Greetings from Germany.
Hi mate, I don't take the Equinox diving anymore as it is only rated to 3M depth - the Deus 2 is rated to 20M :) I was using the Excalibur II for diving before the D2, but the Excalibur is very heavy!
But you won't get deeper than 3 meters with the nemo
You must be sooooooo calm!
Diving is my happy place, when I can get in there :) Sadly it is generally too rough to dive my (surf) coastline during most of winter. I'm sitting here and watching the calendar. Cheers Dug!
Actually, I was referring to the caption @ 8:30. Enjoy what’s in front of you! Cheers!
@@DugMcClure ah. 😁
Did you get a date off that 20 cents u found mish ?
@@DirtFishMish thanks mish you are the greatest thanks for the quick response appreciate it👋
Hello DirtFishMish, Hope you're having a great morning, May I ask what Go Pro you are using while detecting as I would love to get one to record my journeys..
Kind Regards
Daniel.
Kind Regards
Daniel.
@@danielgibson1237 the lighter weight was nice, but the real selling point for me was the lever lock system - it can be very difficult to adjust the equinox’s pin-lock shaft if there’s any sand grit in there, and I have a small car so it needed to be adjusted every time I went out. 😉
Lead is quite valuable salvaged and sold.
Cheers Mickey, I make diving weights out of the scrap :)
wow thats alot of sinkers
Would you believe that's only a small haul for this area? Many people fish along this coastline and I've pulled out more than my body weight in lead over the past year. It's quite confronting! Cheers Ralph :)
@@DirtFishMish its good to get those out of the water
So you dont need a divingvest with lead filled a pouch full of sinkers does it the same.
what the price now for similar detector ..and if there are other one u you tried pls till...thank you
Prices will vary in each country, here in Australia this machine is worth A$2499, another good diving machine is the Minelab Excalibur II which is around A$1900 but is much heavier. There are lots of other machines that have some waterproofing as well, so shop around 😊 Cheers!
@@DirtFishMish Thank you dear
I'm living in United Arab Emirates ...UAE.. since long years ,,,I will search online more but the shipment is costly sometime
I will go to Dubai I know on supplier I think they are selling Turkiesh or US brands made
Thank you and take care always
and thanks again for the reply
@@anastasioworley3102 if you have access to Turkish brands, have a look at the Nokta Makro Legend. It is submersible to 3M/10ft 😊
@@DirtFishMishI will see if its there...Thank you dear 😊😘
👍👍👍😁
your quite a sight up close underwater.
Is great❤❤
You really need to be careful and take a table tennis bat with you for wafting sand, those fish hooks will cause a lot of damage! Take care!
Cheers 😊
Resell all those sinkers to bait and tackle shops or melt them into dive weights and sell those... Extra income! 👍
I make dive weights already, it's such a great way to recycle the lead! 🙌
👍🙏
Time to start a weight belt business. WOW, that is a lot of lead. Cool bedrock.
I do indeed make weights from the scrap 😊
@@DirtFishMish You are so resourceful Mish! :-)
+1 😉😉
Bonjour de la France 🇨🇵🇨🇵
