John, was probably TJ, he passed away some years ago. The best hunter of all time was Richard Rudy, “Mr Gold”. He also passed away but used to hunt full time. He was so tough, he added an extension to his snorkel and would hunt in water over his head. . He used a heavy duty long scoop, used to hop around on it in deep water. He used the Aqua Sound and that sucker was deep in Florida
I tried that once and almost blacked out from sucking so hard to get the air down 2 feet😳

Is there a secret word to get into the club?
Well done D. Having same issue in beach modes. Unhuntable. Falsing is overwhelming. Using dive mode mostly. Quietest of them. Have to work with salt Sens. And other settings to see if it will settle down. The little ridges in the sand false the machine bad.

I feel like you touched on something really important it took me a long time to finally just settle on. Essentially I always dig just about all signals. I’ve seen a 90 disappear into iron. I’ve seen a 20 disappear into iron. I’ve seen a super solid 10 turn into a 35 tab. I’ve seen a 55 penny turn into a 20 crazy crazy sounding necklace… first tones, using the machines we use now wether it be the d2 or legend or 6-800 or 7-900 or mk2 or cz or whatever. Very often cause we get 1-30” signals…. You never know until you know. Yea of course you get an idea but man it pays to hear the 1-2 scoops flip. On a line on a patch in a fresh drop hunt in the trough and everything in between. It took me a long time to finally learn and settle on that discipline.

Some guys use weight belts and a snorkel in deep water. I know it’s tough out there, but we used to hold our breath and scoop with a hand held Jimmy Sierra basket

Testing the two side by side on Friday night!! Results coming soon. I tested the legen vs the deus 2 and I’m impressed. The legend had the lg30 coil though

I loved watching your old videos with the 800. I have one as a back up to the D2. I took the 800 out last night to give it a go and I just can’t use it. It’s quite but damn it’s all over true place with false signals and as far as where the target actually is it doesn’t come close to the D2! Maybe it’s just me and I need more time with it?

Deus 2 is the BEST metal detector of recent times unless someone made it better one
its also a beast in underwater..
By far!! They still have a few things to change as for the wire and housing connection to the shaft..

i metal detect for living almost 4 years now
i metal detect all year (summer and winter) i used lots of machines excalibur 2 / garett seahunter mark2 / garett infinium LS / nokta Legend etc etc nothing comes near Deus 2 when it comes to underwater use.
I’m seeing this now.. I’m so excited to have finally figured it out.. lots of gold in the future 💰❤️😳😉🍀

What did you learn? Bizzare not to share. Obviously, you made an adjustment to quiet it down. FYI, I'm one of the best using Excal. Seriously, 275 pieces of gold on 1 week Caribbean hunt. I've been on more than 30 and try all new machines. Getting ready to test Legend and Deus. Excalibur is still the King in shallow saltwater and Garrett Infinium in black sand. So it would be good to know how you adjusted the Deus??? Yes, the newer machines are more sensitive, but they will cause one to scoop more tiny pieces of junk. I prefer to scoop big gold and platinum.😅
Great comment!! The Excalibur is still the best saltwater machine made. Not for beginners. I’ve had and will have again the Excalibur II.. Minelab has null technology like no other and I’ve seen signs of the null in both the equinox800 and the manticore. So someone using these new machines with the threshold (even though the tone is stable)allows more information. I also believe why new machines are successful is because of a new set of signals ( kWh ) the Deus2 is by far the best processor of all this information. BY FAR! Deepest in wet sand and salt for sure! I literally killed my gold count by teaching so I stopped. Back to the original point. Salt sensitivity has less affect on depth than sensitivity. So, turn down salt sensitivity to 1 and you can run general sensitivity at 99. Beach Sensitive! Boom! 💪😎😎🙏🤔✅😉

For Beach Water Detecting I think my manticore better deep than my Deus 2.
Not even close! Also know that I still only use the manticore! The deus2 is by far the deepest best information machine ever. Deeper pi machines definitely exist but less information. Nokta is supposed to be dabbling in this area 💪😎

Beach sensitive. Now the update to 1.0 has improved everything. If my machine runs this deep and smoothly I feel I can follow any hunters and still find the goods😉💪🙏
