    I am always amazed at how intricate the details are in your monoprintd, just by using a limited palette and markmaking. Thank you for sharing your process. I have always enjoyed watching you create. You are an inspiration. ❤

    It is the contrasts in these pictures that make you look. Contrasts in the production: perfect and minimalistic stencils create clear edges and surfaces, randomly created shapes through random adhesion of the paint, the shapes are very loosely emphasized with strokes afterwards, reduced color palette but basic shades and slight variations of them, a somewhat "dirty process" but very clean, defined edges of the picture. I can't help but admire and really enjoy the production and the result!

      Wow, thank you! I try to make the techniques look simple although I always know that it can take time to achieve the results that you are happy with. I hope the videos help to demonstrate how you can improve and produce really creative artwork.

    The techniques that you master as fluently as ever are an important part of your expression, but with the use of templates you add themes. what is a new dimension..! I always find something new in every video....

    Another exceptionally satisfying video of your monotyping process. I'm not quite certain why I find this technique so pleasing, but it persists through both doing and observing. The possibilities are endless in this messy, chaotic search of order. The process is so beautifully accessible, but mastery is difficult - though you make it look easy. Thank you for another inspirational video!

      Thank you very much! I think you described it perfectly, it's a technique that doesn't seek perfection, allow the process to create the work, it takes practice to let go and relax but it can be very rewarding.

    Beautiful Dan! Love the soft, subtle color palette ❤ When using the Q-tip is there a fluid solution on it to spread the color? I enjoy, every day, looking at your monotype print I purchased several years ago - always makes me smile 😊 Have a wonderful week!

      Thanks very much, I'm really pleased to know that you have one of my original artworks and that it's still looked at everyday. When I film the monoprinting process I keep the paint as dry as possible, use very little and never use any kind of thinner especially when working on paper or card. Hope this helps.

    Quite subtle colours with this one. The images don't leap out from the paper,. It' s an interesting change ,compared to some of your other work. Having said that, they remain graphic, the overall effect is striking. They would benefit from closer study if, say, it was on a wall. Very nice Dan.

      Thank you, I find with this process that it can be very easy to overwork the composition and apply too much paint which obviously cannot be removed, the technique works best with very thin layers and I think this demo helps to show this, working with the stencils gives you some guidance and helps with the control of the paint, slowing things down a little.

    Enjoyed video ,i found your creative process very interesting, were your templates made out of cardboard? I like how youve reused your marking making paper to get diferent marks within your sized boxes.thank you very much for video.🎨🇨🇦🇺🇲

      Thanks very much for your kind comments and feedback, good to know that you enjoyed this video. The templates are made from thin card (cerial boxes are ideal, I always like to use recycled card for this) I will be filming more of these type of videos and I will also show the process of making the templates.

    Amazing technique, is the paynes gray the only water soluble pigment?

      No I only use oil paint here, the colour you see is a mix of Prussian Blue and Vandyke Brown.

    What paper are you using? Oil paint paper?

    • @DanTirels
      @DanTirels  Месяц назад

      You can use a mixedmedia paper that is suitable for oil paint but here I'm using a thick smooth card 270gsm.
