After watching this performance, I'm not sure the pandemic was the problem for Japan. You got like 30 people on stage here and it's an amazing show.

you can tell that CL really is not used to lipsyncing cause this doesn't suit her at all, and honestly I found it quite funny that her mouth and the background track doesn't sync most of the time . they shoulda just let her set the roof on fire forreal by letting her sing live

No one's questioning her talent though because we all know CL has less control over the performance since she is only a guest performer at the Olympics. They probably required the pre-recorded track to synchronize it with the fireworks and lights/LED displays. If they let her sing live, she would not have been in synch with the lights and fireworks if she missed even a single beat or got delayed live.
