Great, it worked. I used a little bit of Feviquick adhesive so that string stays in place.

Did you test your fixed cord trying to charge your phone?

Absolute genius.... I just repaired my cord, using Teflon tape: Teflon Tape and PTFE tape are exactly the same product made from exactly the same material. I used dental floss as my string, from a recent trip to the dentist. Finally, I coated the finished product with a clear Top Coat Nail Polish. Looks great, now, time will tell as to the longevity. I feel really good about this simple fix. Thanks much James.

Have repaired a total of 3 cords as explained above. Working great at this time. Time will tell, but at this time, totally satisfied.

no good. ive had a device battery fail after continuing to use a charger just like that. unless you took the cable under magnification to see for sure if wiring is damaged. I would 100 percent never use a damaged cable at all. it is not worth the risk of fire and further damage to your device. whether you believe it or not, your eroded charging cables should not be trusted ever again once there are any signs of damage to them

Put some shrink wrap tubing over that to make it look better.
